  1. Oh man, you're going to need some popcorn for this next bit.... A strange thing happened on the way to fixing your part, I'll leave it up Tom how to divulge the details, but suffice it to say, it's pretty epic.
  2. "MC2, Inc" Note that it's not a superscript 2, nor is it an LLC which should suffice to differentiate, but noooo, it's a conflict... Oh, I did business name lookups before choosing, the website flagged exactly ZERO conflicts with registered business names. No surprises in the folks programming the website being smarter than the desk jockeys, but still...
  3. Oh that's the best part... It's the superscript "2" that proved too difficult for my benevolent .gov overlords. Since they can't figure out how to get it into their internal filings, they attempt "MC2" instead, and that's where the conflicts begin. So it was necessary to tack on additional words to differentiate my business name, 'cause asking a bureaucrat's minion to hold 'Alt' while typing '0178' on the number pad of a keyboard is altogether impossible.
  4. Well, I got an email from the Secretary of State's office, there is a name conflict, so I'm re-submitting under an amended name. MC² Services & Solutions, LLC is the new "sobriquet of preference" in the immortal words of Buster Scruggs. Fingers crossed.
  5. Me too, I know exactly what you mean. I just am tired of being that guy, ready to move to the "try it out" phase. Have no clue what'll come of it, except the 100% certainty that I'll learn something that I never would've learned from not doing it.
  6. Totally coincidental....
  7. I'm excited, this has needed to happen for quite a long time now...
  8. You're pretty close, Matt Cross Machining Consultants to begin with... I hope it will become incorporated as a parent company to other related business ventures, like MC Machine Corporation, Munitions Corporation, Mechanical Contractors, etc etc... There's plenty of room in the name for the expansion of the venture, that's for sure.
  9. This comment right here... Started something epic! Something I've wanted to do for a very long time and just couldn't bring myself to commit to... This is your fault, I blame it all on you: https://forum.308ar.com/topic/26085-well-i-went-and-did-a-thing/
  10. So as of today I have submitted the paperwork to register a business with the NC Secretary of Commerce. Starting my own business is something I've wanted to do for a very long time but just never got around to, and now as I'm approaching 40 years old, I'm tired of stalling. So as has already been stated, I filed to register a business name online just a few minutes ago. If it is approved, I will be the Owner/Manager of "MC² LLC". I've got a few ideas that'll hopefully lead to making a dollar or two doing what I love with all the gear I love.
  11. Guilty as charged.
  12. OCL took the initiative and made it happen, I have mad respect for them and they deserve it. Couldn't happen to nicer folks AFAIC... I'm just glad that I can still put the can on my Mk12s that they deserve.
  13. This is one of @98Z5V 's more subtle attacks, and it's beautiful in it's scheme and execution. It's sort of the antithesis to "the rule", but equally effective. In this attack, you are reminded of the awesomeness of something you already have, in an attempt to make you crave some more of it, which may naturally be followed by "buyers regret" at the realization that you really only needed one to begin with, which may then possibly lead to selling it to him at a substantial discount. It's despicable, and I love it!
  14. Welcome to the forum! We're glad to have you. Ruger's large ARs are quite nice, how are you liking the Ruger so far vs. the Sigs?
  15. Either way, you'll get showered with wisdom....
  16. Prayers for him and his family. Brother, I'm sorry we couldn't reach you with all the reasons to stay amongst us, but I'm praying you found peace beyond this life.
  17. Yeah, subtlety was always one of Tom's major strengths, I'm not sure what is causing this sudden deterioration...
  18. I do believe "The Rule" is now in effect...
  19. I have an 18.5" barrel that shoots 175gr Gold Medal Match faster than a 24" factory proof barrel. Data comprised of a single comparison doesn't make for good generalizations. I'd be interested to hear the data on what your 24" bolt gun runs the same ammo (FGMM 175gr) over the chrono, I'm curious to see if your theory about barrel length and velocity holds water. 2610fps for a 175gr SMK out of a 18.5" 1:10 twist barrel, averaged over a 100-shot string, 70° ambient temperature >10% humidity. I think you're vastly overestimating what your gas losses are, and I'm 100% positive that barrel length won't have enough effect on your velocities to otherwise negate your effectiveness at the ranges you discussed. Don't take my word for it though, build your system and prove your data, or disprove it, either way, we all learn and benefit.
  20. I can think of many more reasons why I would, than why I wouldn't?! I don't understand the question your honor!!!
  21. You rang?!
  22. that's frankly nonsense. simply can't think of a more polite way to put it than that....
  23. PM me your shipping address please Mike.
