  1. OCL took the initiative and made it happen, I have mad respect for them and they deserve it. Couldn't happen to nicer folks AFAIC... I'm just glad that I can still put the can on my Mk12s that they deserve.
  2. This is one of @98Z5V 's more subtle attacks, and it's beautiful in it's scheme and execution. It's sort of the antithesis to "the rule", but equally effective. In this attack, you are reminded of the awesomeness of something you already have, in an attempt to make you crave some more of it, which may naturally be followed by "buyers regret" at the realization that you really only needed one to begin with, which may then possibly lead to selling it to him at a substantial discount. It's despicable, and I love it!
  3. Welcome to the forum! We're glad to have you. Ruger's large ARs are quite nice, how are you liking the Ruger so far vs. the Sigs?
  4. Either way, you'll get showered with wisdom....
  5. Prayers for him and his family. Brother, I'm sorry we couldn't reach you with all the reasons to stay amongst us, but I'm praying you found peace beyond this life.
  6. Yeah, subtlety was always one of Tom's major strengths, I'm not sure what is causing this sudden deterioration...
  7. I do believe "The Rule" is now in effect...
  8. I have an 18.5" barrel that shoots 175gr Gold Medal Match faster than a 24" factory proof barrel. Data comprised of a single comparison doesn't make for good generalizations. I'd be interested to hear the data on what your 24" bolt gun runs the same ammo (FGMM 175gr) over the chrono, I'm curious to see if your theory about barrel length and velocity holds water. 2610fps for a 175gr SMK out of a 18.5" 1:10 twist barrel, averaged over a 100-shot string, 70° ambient temperature >10% humidity. I think you're vastly overestimating what your gas losses are, and I'm 100% positive that barrel length won't have enough effect on your velocities to otherwise negate your effectiveness at the ranges you discussed. Don't take my word for it though, build your system and prove your data, or disprove it, either way, we all learn and benefit.
  9. I can think of many more reasons why I would, than why I wouldn't?! I don't understand the question your honor!!!
  10. You rang?!
  11. that's frankly nonsense. simply can't think of a more polite way to put it than that....
  12. PM me your shipping address please Mike.
  13. I don't blame you, it's awfully competitive outside of that closet....
  14. I've lost count of how many I've used through the years, LaRue's mounts are great kit.
  15. That's a great read, and very on-point with regard to communication and trusting your spotter. That lesson concreted itself at the Spring Shoot when a miss looked different from my perspective, yet trusting the spotters call got me on target in a jiffy, rather than adjusting by my data.
  16. Let's hope he reads that before he sees your response to @unforgiven in the other thread...
  17. Rocks and sticks were "cutting edge" in his day, pardon the expression...
  18. Thank you brother!
  19. Happy Birthday! Mine is tomorrow, evidently all the awesome people are Pisces...
  20. This whole post needs to be a bumper sticker.
  21. Oooh, nice! I'm drooling.... Well, ok, more than usual...

    Tempting

That's the very one. Only thing on it that isn't factory (besides the optic & bipod) is the 20 MOA rail from EGW.
