  1. That's an understatement... First, take out your bolt catch assembly (catch, detent and spring). Replace it with a simple Armalite or a Phase5 EBRv2. Second, pull the entire trigger group out. Replace it with a Geissele, ALG or a CMC. Third, pull the fire control and replace it with a BAD Inc, AXTS or similar ambi set-up. .... do you see where I'm going with this??? Take down and pivot pins are next. Don't forget their respective detents and springs. DPMS parts will suffice here. The magazine catch should be next. The Armalite AR10A will fit. It's beefier than the LR308 version (which is just an AR15 part). Might as well get a Norgon or Troy left side release while you're at it. I'm pretty sure I've "cleansed" your rifle at this point.
  2. And..... First.. that GS is full of shiiiiit. I say you chuck a chamber brush into a rotary drill, squirt some flitz on the wire, then spin that fucker inside the chamber for a good bit. That'll polish the hell outta it. Clean it out REALLY GOOD afterwards. Get a light coat of lube inside the chamber... not much needed inside there... have your buddy soak the BCG in "FULL SYNTHETIC" 0w40 (or 0w50 if you can find it)
  3. This ^^^ is on my "to do" list. I'm really just waiting for a lighter alternative than the KX5. I may just have to design my own?!?!
  4. Your keyboard just took a shiit on the screen...
  5. There are a LOT of guns worth the cost of switching. Several LE agencies across the country figured that out about 15-20 years ago. I'm not aware of a single department that still issues the M92. However, Glock and Sig dominate the field. I'm not a Glock fan, but for half the price and 1000x the popularity, how can it be ignored as a viable replacement to the M9?
  6. I have about 15-20 of those old Colt 20rd mags. They were huge with LE agencies here about 20 years ago. When I'm lucky, I find an agency with an old stash of mags in storage, who are more than happy to just toss them out. I'm not above trading the large agency guys, using old surplus gear, a fancy new PMAG for their old yucky Colt mag.
  7. He didn't break it.... He broke it in... lol
  8. I'll hit you up this week.
  9. There's not a big enough difference for the "once in awhile" long distance shooter. If the majority of your shooting was at 600+ then I'd suggest longer.
  10. It's more like the fat chick in the bar parking lot at 2:15am.... you're just settling for whatever is left, and you're hoping your boys don't see you do it.
  11. What size do you need? I may have a .875 available.
  12. I did this once as well. It hits fine on high end ammo, but the surplus stuff (with heavier primers) will sometimes take multiple hits before a bang. The ALG ACT with the JP yellow springs won't cost more than $75 if you shop around.
  13. on sale http://www.tacticallink.com/Lancer-L5AWM-20-round-magazine-translucent-clear.html?mc_cid=07992475f5&mc_eid=4ab1f571aa $18.85 (Clear) http://www.tacticallink.com/Lancer-L5AWM-20-round-magazine.html $15.59 (All other colors)
  14. I had a bad experience with them too. I ordered a very expensive duty holster rig through them. It never arrived, so I ordered it elsewhere. Six months later they start calling me asking, "we need your PayPal info again so we send your holster." When I asked why it took so long, they said that orders that expensive were made directly through the manufacturer. I told them they should've disclosed that when I ordered and they could keep that expensive holster for the next guy. I swear that their customer service couldn't sell water to a man on fire.
  15. Great lookin stick bro... but the addiction has only begun. Lol
  16. +1, and they only cost $15-$25
  17. http://criterionbarrels.com The latest addition to our growing family! For those of you who don't know about me, I have LOOOONG said that the Criterion (Fulton Arms "Titan") 16" Rifle length barrel is one of the best ideas for the .308 AR on the market. This is yet only one of many great, and well thought out, products. Criterion is hands down a top shelf company, and a MUST for any high end rifle. I'm very excited to see Criterion stepping out on their own, and double excited to see them utilize our community to get the word out on their products.
  18. Check out the FN Forums and read about the SCAR17 in more detail there. I've shot two different PWS .308's and they were both awesome rifles
  19. 4150. I'm just funnin' around. I'm glad you were able to diagnose your issue. I'm sorry the CMMG curse affected you so bad.
  20. Where are my memes....
  21. You sonofa...
  22. I own the m700 and m7, the Tikka, the Mossberg 4x4, and the Ruger (m77) GSR Scout... All in .308 (I have a few other calibers as well) I'm more a fan of the Ruger and Mossberg. The Rem's are really nice, I just prefer the others. I'd say to look at the Mossberg MVP. I shot BubbaSKS's and can attest to its accuracy.
  23. My honest opinion.... The only company I'd trust to make ANY polymer receiver, upper or lower, would be Magpul.
  24. I can send you a box of Winchester Ranger T-series 230gr .45 ACP (I don't remember if they're +p or not).... you can pull the proj's and reuse them in the 45-70. Get those fuckers over 2k fps and they'll vaporize anything under 300 lbs.
