  1. SS is right. The little extra money spent at ADCO or Bravo Company should be looked at more like insurance. BATFE can put your life in the shitter for a long time, while your very expensive attorney clears your name.
  2. As a range instructor, I do the firearms/ballistics portion of a forensic science class at the local college. No gelatin here... we line up pig caresses and shoot them with a variety of weapons. Most of the firearms we use (9mm, 40, 45, 223, even a 5.7x28) are completely unimpressive. Being in a career where I see lots of bullet holes, I'm just not shocked by the small bleeding puncture/hole.... Now, a 12g 1oz slug on the other hand... That is fukcing impressive! Flesh literally explodes. The next, almost as impressive was a S&W 500 mag launching a 425gr proj. Wow!!!! (Remember that a 1 oz slug is approximately 437gr)
  3. Mine sends text messages when he gets new stuff. His shop is in my beat, so I usually kill my lunch break sitting at their counter. Since I've known him, I've met his uncle, his wife, his mom, two of his brothers and his sister.
  4. First off, a 14.5" isn't illegal. A 14.5" barrel ON A RIFLE is illegal. Off the rifle it's just a chunk of metal. There are some that will caution you against having the parts readily avaliable to assemble an SBR. I usually tell those people to bug off. The law about "readily available" has to include "intent". Without intent, they're just parts. Here's what you do.. Order the parts. Keep them in their boxes till you set up a build day. Arrange a full day to complete your build, top to bottom. If you get your barrel extended properly, no one will bother you. You can also just order your barrel complete. Companies like BCM or ADCO will make your barrel assembly for you.
  5. So, I've actually never sold a gun before. The thing is, I only bought the P220 to carry on duty. I wanted a 45, and my options were between that and the G21. I just got the FNH added to the list of duty guns. I'll never carry the Sig again if I get the FNX. Hell, I'll probably never shoot it again if I kept it.
  6. Now, do I buy it outright and suffer the consequences? or do I sell my P220 to fund it?
  7. Lol
  8. i CAN'T WAIT TO SHOW MY WIFE WHEN i GET HOME
  9. My wife is going to leave me over this.... What do you guys think?? $684.00 shipped, new in the box from dealer. Comes with night sights and three 15 round mags. I think I'm going to sell my Springfield 1911 TRP Operator (full rail) for this beast.
  10. My two "work" knives. Top: Spyderco Bottom: Cold Steel "Voyager" Here's how I clip it to my gear.
  11. Ooh Roooooonnnnn!!!!! I'm sure our resident AR10 nut will be around shortly to share in his wisdom.
  12. Tuesday voting started. Lol
  13. I still have those sitting on top of my safe. The guy who reloaded them promised to produce more, and then dried up...
  14. I just grabbed a Bushnell AR 2-7x32 for my .22lr build. I got it for a steal on "that auction site".
  15. You're right. I do love Flagstaff
  16. It's the raise in temperature that'll kill me... I complain when it hits 110 here... You can have your 120+ :tweed: :cookoo:
  17. That's what I'm talking about!!! Unfortunately, Diane Fuckstein says "No fun, even for the Five-O". Threaded barrels are useless because I can't add a suppressor here. Forward grips are a no-no as well. So here is what I'm thinking.... FNX 45 Stainless Contact www.landmprecisiongunworks.com and have the slide milled for the RMR sight Get myself a Trijicon NiB coated RMR Get some raised Trijicon sights! Add the EFK Dragon ported barrelSomething similar to this guy... (Minus the silly bipod)
  18. SI will make good for you. They have a stellar reputation here. I would stake my name in their defense. Hell, I'll make the call for you myself if you needed it. Remember, everyone is having Christmas right now. It's not easy for anyone this time of year. My personal suggestion... Tuaca and hot apple cider. (E&J and eggnog wrecks my stomach)
  19. The 5.11 Maverick is a badass duty belt. I have their rigger belt on right now.
  20. My favorite knife right now is the Kershaw Ken Onion Blur. I bought two for my wife. A good sized cutter! Personally, I'm always shopping for a good price on an Emerson CQC-15... but that's a bit over your $100 mark.
  21. You could cut/bend the lips to prevent contact... but if it fits, why worry? At worst, you might see a little wear mark on your barrel where the metal touches metal. Your barrel is a lot stronger than the heat shield, so there shouldn't be any fear of actual damage. As for loss of accuracy... I don't imagine that kind of contact will effect you at all.
  22. That's great!!! I think I'll hijack my wifes iphone tonight!!!
  23. Screw you all.... I'm still shopping. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=381010520 (I love that the best lighting in this guys house.... is in the bathroom!!)
  24. nice
  25. This is so awesome. I hope my wife see the progress.
