  1. Are you posting some of the magazines up?
  2. I prefer the JP version more. It's even more expensive, but you still get the option of a rear charging handle. It's a lot cleaner looking too. I saw the ASA internally, and it seems a little jenky. Not a lot of engineering forethought went into it. As nice as it looked, it was more like a project from "Sons of Gun" than a real concept. Adcor Defense makes a forward charging handle. Similar to the old Kaiser Mil AR's (for those that remember that company). It looks ok, but I wasn't 100% taken by the video reviews I watched. Keep an eye out for the Faxon "ARAK-21" too. http://www.guns.com/2012/12/06/faxon-firearms-arak-final-testing-december-2012-shot-show-january-2013/ Meh!! I'll stick with what works... for now.
  3. Anyone ever see those old .410 uppers any more???
  4. Tasers are pointless. They never work when you need them to the most. They work too well when you need them the least. I used one ONCE on a guy all whacked out on meth. It worked just like it was supposed to there. At the beginning of this year, we had a guy (I wasn't there for this one) holding a knife to his throat. They hit him 6 or 7 times with tasers. No effect!!! They also shot him three times with 12g bean bags with no effect. Five officer and several residents watched in horror as this psycho dragged a butcher knife across his own throat. I saw the body at the hospital. The wound was a clean cut through his left jugular, carotid and through his trachea. He was DOA. Thy used to be used as "compliance tools" now they can only be used (in California) if you fear for your life.... Fuck that! That's why I carry a gun!!! No thanks, keep the taser and keep the pepper spray too. I have my pistol and my baton. They worked just fine for the last 100 years, they'll be fine for me too.
  5. Which is too bad too, because I have their barrel on my 300 Blk and its a pretty nice barrel.
  6. I'm sold.... I'll take two!
  7. I'm trying to find a reason the buy the CASV. I need a new build! Maybe the CASV-M on a 7.5" upper!!!
  8. I'm pretty sure Umbrella Corp uses Magpul MOE grips and then puts their own laser eteched logo on it

    Grip Porn

F you 98!!! That website is dangerous!! I'm already shopping!! All that burl is so sexy!!!!
  10. I really like the RAMP mount, and was seriously looking at it for months. My issues with it: A. Weight, way heavier than most. B. The picatinny mount is really close to your eye. C. It's not QD (not a req for me, but nice) D. Not 20 MOA (also not a req, but would've been nice) Reasons A and B were enough for me to change my mind on the RAMP. I ordered a Nightforce Ultralite Unimount instead. I still don't have QD, but that's ok. With the super weight savings, I can mount the off-set mount wherever I want and still be better off than with the RAMP. I'm thinking a 2" picatinny rail installed at the 1 o'clock is in my future.
  11. ... They look like tanks though!!!
  12. Yeah, those Spuhr guys are pretty damn proud of their mounts.
  13. I'm looking to put a 45 degree micro red dot on my .308. I'd love a Trijicon RMR, but I think the new Burris Fastfire 3 is a more realistic buy. What do you guys think about the different mounts? I can use the standard off-set mount that attaches to the top picatinny, or (since I have a modular APEX handguard) attach a small rail directly to the free float. Anyone else tried this yet?
  14. What about Spuhr?
  15. MIAD is the largest grip, but the MOE+ (make sure it has the +) has got to be the most comfortable grip I own. If you like big grips, you should also look into a Pearce 1911 Grip Adapter. Personally, I'm looking into the new Magpul K-2 grip coming soon. I think that is what my pistol build will use. So far I have the: MIAD MOE+ (x2) BCM Gunfighter Mod0 and Mod1 (too small and too short on the trigger reach) Troy BattleAxe (very small, but I love this one) Tango Down BG-16 (bad angle for me, kinda like a Glock) Ergo Grip (this was ok, but I like the MOE+ more) A2 (I have a whole box of bastard grips)
  16. Rainier is usually in 24 hours. I usually have the product in 2 to 3 days.
  17. Edge has had scope envy lately.... Serves him right for rubbing that OBR in our faces for so long. Lol That USO is pretty sexy though!
  18. We're better lookin too! Except for Rsquared... His fugly mug is really putting a spike in the curve. We really just use him for his Armalites. And Imschur with his fingerless paws.... And Wash, with all his bad scarring.... Oh, and 98Z5V resembles a silver back gorilla... Did I mention how old Survivalshop and Heminut are, good looks left them during the Nixon admin.... Really, Unforgiven and MattCross (just his hands) are holding us together in the looks dept.
  19. It's an Irish/Gaelic proverb for "don't make hay on a windy day" or "don't make thatching on a windy day". It means there's an appropriate an inappropriate time/season to do something.
  20. They're all AR's, but not all of them are an "AR-10",
  21. I mount for whatever is the longer sight radius. I have a set of Magpul MBUS sights mounted on the gas blocks of my .308, .300Blk and a 5.56. None of them have any signs of melting. I have a set of Troy DiOptic sights on my 5.56 piston gas block, and they seem to be holding just fine. My problem with mounting on a rail is that not all rails are 100% rigid. I have a Troy Alpha rail on my 7.62x39 build. The rail seems to shift just a hair when the front of it gets whacked. My Daniel Defense and Apex rails are sturdy enough to build a card house on. I guess it all comes down to how much $$$ you're willing to spend.
  22. MidwayUSA had DPMS LR308 bolt completion kits. They come with firing pin, cam pin and the retainer pin (plus all the other bolt parts). I think they are $30-$40.. I bought a set recently.
  23. Never bought a stripper, but I've rented quite a few!!!
  24. So sweeeet. I have a warm spot in my heart for side cars. I still want to do an off-road trip/hunt on a URAL.
  25. It's a pretty sweet find. I love 14.5" barrels too. Is it actually .750 or is it slightly smaller
