We made it to the action figure!

I want a Roger action figure!!! -
Only if you have a fixed stock already. If you currently have a collapsible stock, a few new parts will be needed.

Edge, you're no saint either <laughs> You guys are responsible most of the guns I've bought over the last year. I was just telling myself I was going to back off on gun buying for a while and then 98 posted that pic of his Savage. Damn it! Now I want that .17HMR Savage!! Don't even get me started about those pictures of your SPR. Some talk about the little angel and devil on their shoulders. I got Edge and 98 on mine. One says "you want it" and the other says "you need it". I can't win. I'm running out of excuses to tell my wife. I promised her that G23 two guns ago. I don't see that.40 coming anytime soon and here I am shopping for a dang Savage :cookoo: You guys will be the death of me. On the flip side, I couldn't pick two better guys to be evil with. I'm a gluten for the punishment, and the experience of being part of this site with you guys has been one hell of a good ride. Despite how I joke, I'm SUPER appreciative of all the help and support 98Z5V and Edgecrusher have given over the short time we've known each other. I make fun, but they are stand up, good guys who I'm proud to call friends.

Tom = >:D I heard that he likes to sign up AA groups for "Beer of the Month" memberships. He sends bags of donuts, cakes and cookies to the Jenny Craig meetings. He even hosted a cigar rolling booth at a "Live Strong" event. He sprinkled baking soda on the bathroom sink at a drug rehab center.... I don't even want to go into what he was doing outside the window of the sex addicts therapy session. Simpley put... Tom = >:D Rumor has it that he was raised by a family of primates. Silver backs, if memory serves me right.

DPMS308 FEEDING PROBLEMS

It's not that big of a deal to me.... but now that you know, you can't get offended when I tease you about it if you do it again. <lmao> -
There was a CalGun guy selling his Kr7 for $1800 a while back. I was very hard pressed not to swoop it.

D, I'm glad companies are willing to work with you and recognizing your work. If I'm correct about that stock, don't do it! Don't cheapen your design with freebies. I know how much THEY think their stuff is worth, but I've seen and played with it, and it's not worth what they think. A store owner I know bought 5 when they first were released. He couldn't sell them for anything. He lost his ass selling them to another shop for $10ea under his own cost. Poor flashing/molding, cheap plastic, weak attachments. I don't know which "operators" they got to say these were TierOne quality. You have a great design that uses high quality parts. The guy that buys your rifle isn't going to be the casual plinker. You are going to get avid shooters who recognize your quality at first glance. I'm not poopin on all the products from that company, just their stocks. -
DPMS308 FEEDING PROBLEMS
Robocop1051 replied to charlie52usaf's topic in DPMS LR-308 General, Technical Discussion
He's right. Saying "DPMS AR-10" on a website dedicated to that style of rifle, is like going on a car forum and writing about your Chevy Mustang. Major faux pas. Only Armalite makes an AR10. DPMS makes the LR-308. KAC makes the SR-25. Mega Arms makes the MA-10. JP Rifles makes the LRP-07. Noveske makes the N6. Rock River Arms makes the LAR-8. There are very large differences between all those rifles. Some are compatible. Some are not. Some have a completely proprietary design... But only one of them is an AR-10! -
:P Although, that is pretty fricken hot

Has anyone ever seen a sniper rifle win a rifle match?
Robocop1051 replied to N Jensen's topic in General Discussion
Remember there are two types of Snipers out there. Mil and LEO. Most Mil Sniper rifles are designed to shoot multiple rounds, at maximum ranges, where aiming center mass is ok, and any hit counts. LEO Sniper rifles are designed to be fired one time. Usually between 40-400 yards. That single shot must absolutely end the situation the sniper is in. -
I remember someone saying how hard this stuff was to find... http://www.tds-us.com/catalog.php/tds/pd2168405 I just got this in an email this morning.

Another thread got me thinking about non-reciprocating left side charging handles... I found this a few minutes later.... Just in case anyone was still looking for one! http://siscalifornia.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=19&zenid=1g3ba4vg13teeel5f6agtp9p74

I'm impressed with the non-reciprocating handle, but I would have liked something more ambidextrous oriented. Sorta like this... Big review HERE

[Review] JP Rifles Low Profile Adjustable Gas Block
Robocop1051 replied to a topic in General Discussion
It'd be no less accurate than shooting the last round in the magazine of a regular rifle. The bolt would still hang open in that case.... Like I said, it was just an idea. I like the idea of limiting gas as well, but then you run into over gassing issues. -
Harley's and Victory's were taken off the table right off the bat. Too expensive to work on, and too often. Our last 2006 103" RoadKing was a rattling nightmare. The BMW's were immediately taken out of consideration as well. The weak clutches, soft brake pads and $125 per hour labor, were putting the dept in the poor house. Brakes cost about $600 and the clutch was pushing $2k. A "simple" oil change was near $250! Kawi's and Honda's were the last options available to us. We debated long and hard. In the long run, after much input from other dept's we settled on the Honda. It was a tough decision. The nail in the coffin was the absolute lack of maintenance needed for the Honda's. The maintenance that was performed had extremely low labor and parts fees.

[Review] JP Rifles Low Profile Adjustable Gas Block
Robocop1051 replied to a topic in General Discussion
Nice review! I like that design of the GB. Especially for the weld on muzzle device states. Adjustable GB's might be the next answer for Californians if the "Bullet-Button Ban" ever gets enough momentum. If so, that tool idea could be a $million idea. Adjusting a GB to close off the gas (or eliminating a GB completely) essentially turns the rifle into a single shot firearm. No different than a bolt rifle. Instead of the normal, charge-BANG-BANG-BANG, you get charge-BANG-charge-BANG-charge-BANG. I had thought about a second modification that engaged the bolt catch after every shot, which would also require releasing the bolt prior to each shot. Again making the firearm into a single shot. This would be most beneficial with something like the Mega Arms or AXTS ambidextrous lower receivers, each with a bolt release within reach of the trigger finger. Similar to the single shot, but half the operation would already be done for you. Instead of the above you'd go, charge-release-BANG-release-BANG-release-BANG -
Well it looks like Eric Estrada will be the last famous Motor Cop on a Kawasaki.... Read about the CHP and the Kawasaki Concourse 14P HERE Tom, you have anything to say about THIS. I think there were some shenanigans in southern AZ :P Their highway patrol seems to like their motors just fine. <dontknow> Luckily my new bike (which drops off the truck tomorrow afternoon  ) is a Honda ST1300. <thumbsup>

You should consider blue locktite on all the small screws. I don't like the idea of locktite on larger threads.
-
Lookin good! What did you do with the old furniture?

I shot a little Brown Trout with my Ruger Blackhawk in a 3' pool of water. After my trip to southern AZ to hang out with the guys, the wife and I are driving up through Big Bear and Bishop for some killer trout fishing. I'm trying to plan another trip for Lake Tahoe for the monster Lake Trout they have hiding down at the bottom.

I really want to build a 17 cal. I read somewhere that the 17's don't load reliably in the automatics? I have a tricked out 10/22 and a nice 77/22. I shoot the 77 a lot more than the 10. Another 77 may be in my future, I just wish there were more options for the 77's.
