  1. <laughs> <laughs> <lmao> <lmao>
  2. Dang. I missed it by 18. :'( Congrats <thumbsup> Can't wait to hear what "FREE STUFF" is?
  3. While I don't feel a bashing is required, let's call it what it is. They are selling a (re-branded??) AR10 clone with fancy furniture at a competitive price... And just for shits and giggles you get the god of thunder printed on the side. I sure the availability of the 308ar outside the US is lacking. If the Thor is the only one available, I say get it. You could do a lot worse.
  4. The MidwayUSA Part #416303 is for the CARRIER ONLY. You will still need to buy all the additional parts to complete a BCG. You need: DPMS Bolt Component Kit DPMS LR-308 $39.99 DPMS Bolt Assembly DPMS LR-308 Matte $99.99 DPMS Bolt Carrier Key AR-15, DPMS LR-308 Matte $12.49
  5. Hope this helps you guys.
  6. I love how sleek and sexy PWS makes their rifles. Beautiful stick edge!
  7. I'm still on the fence if I'm for or against this. I've searched high and low and could not find one post/pic/video of a MBUS melted or deformed on a GB. On the contrary, I have found several posts and pics of people who have successfully mated the two together with no complaints or reports of damage. While I understand the caution, and the liability to Magpul, I see this as an extreme situation circumstance. Perhaps in an extended, full-auto, fire fight would you see temperatures hot enough. At that point wouldn't you have to worry about the MOE handguard, which is also attached at the barrel/GB?? I only spent $40 on my front sight. I've already made (and lost) much more expensive gambles on this rifle build. If I manage to melt/deform/damage my MBUS by mounting it on a gas block, I'll make sure 308AR has the first pictures and details about it. I just bought another case of Port 7.62, so I should be able to stress this test out a bit! FWIW, I will also try to do this on a 5.56 Adams Arms piston block too...
  8. Some of the upper rail height gas blocks that are available look like they should be able to handle the ABS plastic of the Magpul MBUS's. PRI is longer than a normal gas block, and the contact area of the sight is passed the gas tube. JD Machine is vented across the side. MI has a a vent drilled through the center as well. I'm not saying that they are perfect, or guaranteed to work. I have the MBUS mounted on a PRI, and I plan on using this set-up as soon as my carbon barrel is finished.
  9. How is it that the "lightweight" carbon fiber hand guard still weighs 0.4 oz more than an Apex CNC hand guard of the same length?
  10. You can flip trigger finger side so the lever points the opposite direction. This points the two levers in opposite directions, and keeps the trigger side from getting in the way. When I get home tonight I'll take a picture of mine. It's a nifty, different, way of doing things. I'm not 100% sold on whether it is better or worse, but it is definitely "different".
  11. I still want to see what the rifle looks like all finished.
  12. Put the pins in a hand drill, or other rotary tool, and spin them in a bit of steel wool or fine grit emery cloth. You're not grinding, you're polishing. There's a difference. As for the Bolt catch, time to break out the itty-bitty file set and hand fit that S.O.B.
  13. Isn't the YM a lighter carrier? I believe Endine's are for heavier BCG systems. If you are dead-set on using the YM, you might need to look into a CWS???
  14. Not really that expensive either. I'm thinking of sending in an Adams Arms piston kit. Maybe get myself the first NiB piston. NiB Piston!! I'll never have to clean my rifle ever again!!!
  15. NiB coating is available for individual guns, from 1911's and Glock's to all your long arm needs. Check out http://www.wmdguns.com/
  16. I think this is the same magazine.
  17. Glad I could help <thumbsup> You can never have enough parts! Just don't get them wet or feed them after midnight, or else you end up like 98 <lmao>
  18. This is what I got last night... No additional response yet.
  19. Is that the mag from the Mega videos on YouTube? They have about a half dozen vid's of the MA-10 doing 50 round dumps in full auto.
  20. @98Z5V: Do you remember this conversation? Well, I was surfing around the other day and I found these pictures Just thought I'd share in the wealth. Only negative is, I found the website selling them for $90!!!
  21. Easy fix... Just buy another one and order the same three levers again! Did you get the new hybrid lever?
  22. I haven't heard from them in weeks. I preordered the set several weeks ago with my upper/lower combo. I have the upper/lower and the s/s bolt catch, but I'm still waiting on the s/s barrel extension, NiB BCG with the s/s option.
  23. Welcome! Feel free to ask away. It gives us new guys a chance to answer about something we learned from the forum veterans.
  24. I'm calling foul on you! Rule breaker!
  25. Congratulations! While I don't have a daughter... Yet... I was raised in a cowboy household with one younger sister. 1. Stop cleaning your rifles after the range. You'll get plenty of time to clean guns as the boys start showing up. My father was no stranger to answering the door with a rifle in hand or a pistol tucked into his waistband. 2. Mount something dead on the wall. My father was a big game hunter and kept his "Boone and Crockett" trophies displayed proudly. It reminds people when your not around. 3. Leave random bullets everywhere. It'll drive the wife nuts, but the grief is worth it. Leave them in drawers, ashtrays, pen holders, on coffee tables. You're daughter will say things like "oh my gosh. Dad shoots so much that he leaves this stuff everywhere!" It's just another helpful reminder for when you're not there. 4. Lastly, that good daddy-daughter relationship will have your baby always reminding people that daddy takes care of his little girl, and he will always be there when she needs him the most. My close friend was asked what he would do if anyone ever hurt one of his daughters. His response was, "25 to life."
