  1. Decent pricing. 200 rounds for $147.96 (after discount) +s&h I don't even own a 300 (yet!) and this is tempting me. If it were the 147gr or lighter, I might have been talked into building a new upper this weekend!
  2. If "group buys" are out of the price range, I saw some decent prices at CTD 147gr (@2000fps), 175gr (@950fps) and 220gr (@1010fps)
  3. Sorry guys. They don't make a mid length, and their reviews aren't 100% like the Adams Arms.
  4. Has anyone seen one of these yet? From the looks of it, you use your existing gas block? Kind of a nifty little device... I'm just now thinking of getting into the piston game. Trying to find a direction to go. I was leaning in the directions of an AA piston kit, but how original is that? If Osprey made a Mid Length, I might be better sold on their product.
  5. I'm about to drop five bills on another order VERY soon... Damn these guys!
  6. No change compared to a _____? Bird cage? Vortex? I'd deffinately like to try out one of those linear "parts"... I don't know what they qualify as, a comp, a brake or a hider??
  7. Surprisingly affordable.
  8. I pulled the trigger this morning... I bought the Troy Micro set with Tritium inserts. I'll let you all know when they come in. Only $198.50 shipped, not a bad deal
  9. I do see a lot of those linear brakes coming out. There must be something right with the science behind them. <dontknow> Not too sure how I feel about having a pokey thing on the front of my rifle. I hade one for my 308, but I returned it and replaced with a BABC.
  10. Thanks for making me jealous... :o
  11. I'd like to point out that in a few short months the BADASS has become the #4 highest rated rifle part on Brownells. It is outranked only by a Spikes lower receiver, the PWS FSC and the Magpul PRS. As nice as they all are, I'm sure those products only hold their positions due to the length of time they have been on the market. Each of the mentioned items only can benefit certain rifles, while the BADASS can benefit ALL AR format rifles. Being a fan, I look forward to seeing the BADASS achieve the #1 spot as the highest 5-Star rated product.
  12. I may have a simple remedy for you. Have you checked out the JP/VTAC handguard extensions? Just slide it into place and bolt it together. It leaves a spot in the top for you to still mount your front sight and have it poke up through the top of the handguard. Drop one of THESE bad-boys on, and you'll completely forget about that little gap.
  13. Extreme Polymer Research’s Polymer Handgun Cartridge Cases via The Firearm Blog by Steve (The Firearm Blog) on 9/22/11 A Spanish company called Extreme Polymer Research has developed a line of polymer cases for a number of handgun cartridges and plan to bring them to market next year. Unlike polymer shotgun cases, these cases do not have a steel base, they are entirely polymer. I asked the company if they have had any problems with the polymer melting or malfunctions in high temperatures. They responded in saying that the polymer selected for the cases is also used to build automotive parts and has been tested in temperatures ranging from -40 to +150 degrees celsius without problems. They tried some transparent polymers, which would allow visual inspection of the power load (and be very cool!) but these did not function correctly under stress. The primary benefits of these rounds is consistent quality and pricing that is not dependent on the rising cost of copper. Extreme Polymer Research will only be producing cases for straight-walled low-pressure handgun rounds (.380, 9mm, .40 & .45) because of the problems inherent with polymer cases necked rifle rounds. A few companies have tried producing rifle ammunition with polymer cases but they have all failed. The ammunition will go on sale next year in Europe and hopefully the USA. The retail price in the USA will be in the 6 to 8 cents/case range.
  14. I think it depends on where you are hunting. Are you shooting little California coastline Blacktail, or are you shooting a big fat Colorado Mule Deer?
  15. It is the same height as the receiver rail. You mentioned wanting to possibly put a front sight on the gas block. A gas block with a rail the same height as the receiver will make it easier to find a good iron sight. A normal gas block rail requires a taller front sight. 98Z5V posted this example earlier. I feel there are more options for BUIS that are designed to be mounted on a handguard than on a gas block.
  16. I had a feeling that was going to happen <thumbsup>
  17. Who's used them? Who owns them? Who likes them? Who hates them? Worth it? Or buy the full size?
  18. Check this one out too. It'll give you a few more options in the long run (4 slot vs. 6 slot). http://www.precisionreflex.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=186676&CAT=4211
  19. Lol, You ask that like it's beyond the realm of reality. A more appropriate question is what kind of Grenade Launcher can we talk 98 into mounting! <laughs>
  20. Added bonus is that it can be quick detach mounted from either side, and it only cost about $45. Tighten it up real good and it doesn't move at all. Very sturdy so far.
  21. I forgot to post this earlier. I like that the trigger finger side points away from my finger when in "fire" position.
  22. Crap! I read the OP when I first woke up and I missed the part about "adapter"... I use a Troy Sling adapter. It was super easy to install over the existing castle nut. Just slide the collapsible stock off, slide the adapter on, slide the stock back on. Done!
  23. I bought the Magpul MS2 when it first came out. It's a decent sling. I like the ability to swap from a 1 point to a 2 point.
  24. I'm sure it has to do with the product's badass-ness level. I can't think of a more badass product!
