  1. YEARS of shooing a .22lr conversion in my rifle has taught me to shoot some regular .223 afterwards, to blow out all the gunk. Sounds like the same should apply to suppressed shots. Blasting a few unsuppressed shots my help blow all the loose debris through before it settles.
  2. Call Armalite and get one directly from them. As forthe triangle handguard, you’re going to have to measure the distance of the gas block. I seem to remember that the AR10 rifle length was a bit longer than the DPMS model. If that’s the case, you’ll have to find a handguard that length, or come up with some kind of spacer. The spacer idea wouldn’t look right with the triangle HG, but you might be able to disguise it with a Magpul MOE-SL HG????
  3. It’s not “new” to the world, just new to civilian sales. It’s the US Mil Spec Glock.... I say bah! Give me a standard G19. I can still use 21rd mags and I get the option of using shorter 15rd.
  4. That’s an awesome set-up.
  5. Hahahahahaha ha.
  6. You know I will!
  7. It sounds like your bolt is gunked. It’s a little tedious but can be clean out. I’d replace the springs while I was in there. Ejector and extractor need some TLC.
  8. I’m a big fan of the old Colt Mustang. Both the original design, and the newer design. My wife fell in love with the Sig version, so I bought her the “scorpion“ model. It came in FDE with G10 grips. The Mustang is extremely easy to carry, I just always hated that it was in .380… Not because I think the .380 is anemic, but because I get free 9MM From my department and it’s generally cheaper to buy in the stores. My wife buys holsters for her gun like most women buy shoes. She has three or four different variations, in both leather and Kydex. Despite how much I liked it, I think I still prefer my Walther PPK/S more. They are identical in carry comfort, but I think the PPK/S just shot better. Once you get past the 100 pound double action pull, the single action of the Walther was a lot better than the single action of the Mustang-type pistols.
  9. https://www.ruger.com/products/precisionRimfire/models.html my only issue is it looks like the same bolt from the Ruger American. Wish it was based on the 77/22 instead.
  10. Ever since BCM started making MLOK handguards, people have been evacuating the keymod train. I think we’re seeing it’s extinction happening here.
  11. A local SWAT went to the 150gr AMAX a while back. They ordered a bazillion rounds in their first shipment. I’m in good with the sniper team, and they throw me a few boxes when they have a training day. Surprisingly, out of a 6 man team, only one guy on the team is a regular shooter. The rest do their training and don’t care any to shoot on their off time. In their defense, they get PLENTY of training. A “shitton” might be an exaggeration, but I definitely have 300-400 rounds.
  12. I have a shitton of Hordany 150gr AMAX.
  13. I don’t see a lot of advantages of going beyon th BX system. I’d stick with the standard receiver, bolt and trigger... upgrade the charging handle, magazine release and the barrel. I thought about a backpacker a well. It’s all about weight at that point and not “features”. I REALLY like the TacSol X-Ring TD w/ open sights. I think it’s about 1 pound. Your whol rifle shoul weigh less than 4 pounds (if you stay away from optics.
  14. That’s almost identical to the Cabelas brand case. Better price! I think Cabelas is around $100.
  15. I also have a proof barrel... the cool factor is way beyond the usefulness.
  16. Skip th hydraulic buffer... I had one... I sold it... If you want the most out of your buffer system, check out a tungsten heavy buffer and a flat wire spring... or maybe even a JP silent captured spring.
  17. Check out the Taccom3G gear... and FUKC CMMG! If you're going to build a dedicated upper, then get a dedicated barrel. I believe TacSol also has a dedicated system now too. Here's the .22lr I built for my wife to plink with. It uses the Taccom ULW barrel and BCG. 18. This will be a fuqin BEAST. I do hope you share pics when it happens!!
  19. Yeah... Every self-respecting gunnut knows the JAE... I just don't have enough salvageable organs I can sell on the black market to afford one. The +$700 (probably closer to $1k) I plan on dropping for a Blackfeather is going to cost me dearly enough.
  20. More reason why a bolt and barrel should be bought together, from the same mfg if possible, from a store that checks headspace before shipping. Was this all worth the $10 saved?
  21. My issue is... how old is your gripe? You posted a respond from “Nathan” who is a personal contact of mine. A guy who’ve I’ve spent countless amounts of time talking with on the phone. A guy who has been working for HK-USA for MONTHS and has NOTHING to do with Faxon. Brownells has a lifetime guarantee. Why was the bolt not returned and replaced?
  22. Hey @shepp, where’s that link you keep bookmarked???
  23. Yes. The Mossberg 500 SGA stock. They make a small adapter that goes between the Blackfeather chassis and the SGA stock.
  24. I’m still planning on this “FuckYouCalifornia” Blackfeather build.
  25. My father had an M1 Tanker when I wanna a kid. He wished he’d never sold it, but they have always pulled some decent coin.
