  1. Further? In comparison to what? Is it not the same distance as other mids?
  2. I have two of those drag bags. They're fuckin obnoxious in size. I think I folded one up and stuffed it in the garage. The other is on permanent loan. I put condor/voodoo/Draco all in the same category. If your decision is between them, you can't go wrong. They all make a decent/affordable bag. I own several Elite Survival Systems bags. I love them for being extremely well made and very protective. They hold everything I "need" and nothing extra. I may have 3 or 4 of these now. Mostly in carbine length. I have one SMG bag.... which is begging me to build a stick mag AR. I just can't decide on 9mm, .45acp or 5.7x28.
  3. You might want to try PSA then. It's a few dollars more, but I think they have more exactly what you are looking for. http://palmettostatearmory.com/ar-15-05/lower-parts/repair-kits.html
  4. I buy these http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/triggers-parts/trigger-hardware/trigger-springs/ar-15-spring-kit-prod24958.aspx I also try to keep a large stock of detent pins. Other than that, most everything I buy is aftermarket upgrades. No need to keep a bunch of stock of parts that I usually replace anyways. Take down pins, selectors, mag release, bolt catch… I don't think I own a single stock part on any of my personal rifles
  5. I used to have a shiit ton of BUIS's. Then I realized I NEVER used them. Not even once. I don't live in a world where BUIS are applicable. I'm totally a fan of a long distance optic paired with a 45 degree red dot, to quickly transition from long to CQB range.
  6. I have to admit… I've been on the receiving end too. A friend of mine was selling his Honda EU 2000 generator, and told me his brother was going to give them $200 for it. I told him, "shiit I'll give you $250 for it." It's still sitting in my garage… And his brother still hasn't talk to me.
  7. I'm so excited to see this through!!
  8. So my father in law picked up a retirement job working the sporting goods counter at Wally World.... FiL: Hey, do you shoot .308? Me: (wondering where this guy has been for the last 10 years!?!) uh, yeah. Why? FiL: oh. Do you ever shoot Perfecta ammo? Me: (now confused) Yeah. Sure. I'm not picky. Why? FiL: oh. We received a crate of 3000 round of .308 Perfecta with damaged boxes, so they were discounted to $9.97 a box. Me: holy crap! I should swing in and grab some. FiL: oh no. That was last week. We sold it all over the week. It's gone now. I'll keep my eyes open if we get some in again for you. You know I get a discount on that stuff too? GAWDFUQINDAMMIT!!!! Don't toy with my emotions like that!!! I married this mans daughter. I gave him three grandchildren. I ask for nothing from him.... and he holds out on a .308 sale!?!? I don't even think I know this man anymore.
  9. I have a love/hate relationship with Hera. I think they are ugly as sin, and yet I still want all their parts. I'm not sure why, but I'm totally down with their P90 lookalike parts. Being in an anti-American state, I don't have the luxury of a SBR... but if I could... I'd totally want to build a Hera 5.7x28 rifle!! And now I hate myself more for voicing that.
  10. I agree the RSA is awesome, but it requires a picatinny rail to mount it. I use one on my DD rail and it's solid. I just don't like using intermediary mounts. Handguard+rail section+sling mount. Just feels like it'll be bulkier than needed. NCStar is the only company I can find that makes a keymod version of the RSA/MSA sling mount. BCM, VLTOR and Noveske all make a keymod QD mount. They seem to all run about $20-$25. I run mostly QD mounts. A good mount and decent QD ring, both from reputable companies, can be just as reliable as any other option.
  11. Bay Area? I'm a 707 kid myself, ended up in the 916 though. Get some pics up. Any issues with that 80%?
  12. I really like the Magpul MSA, but they only make it for picatinny and MLOK. There's some knockoff models for the keymod, but I don't know them. It works great with an HK style clip and gives your thumb/hand a sturdy rest-stop to brace against.
  13. So what are you building?
  14. So if we buy you the adapter, we can send you our slide? ?
  15. Did they charge you twice? Or did you score two barrels for the price of one???
  16. The TFO and TFX sights are me number 1 recommend sights for any EDC or duty carry weapon. I'm a big fan of the TFX front sight with the orange circle. my wife was just bitching about me putting trijicon sights on her G19 MOS, instead of the TFX sights. Gah! If she only understood about clearances. I may have to swap her MOS model for a new Gen5.
  17. Crap! This is the first show I'm missing in YEARS. The wife and I are moving and she'd have my hide if I ducked out of town right now. I literally hand over the keys next week and will be homeless till 9/2 when I get the keys to my new place. FreQ, are you in/near Sac?
  18. I don't recommend ever doing it, but the MechArmor TacOps-1 is the CH I would feel safe "kick-starting" and not exploding or bending.
  19. Changing a CH latch may be my least favorite task. Even more so than a gas tube roll pin.
  20. @Armed Eye Doc let me know how that x39 build goes. It's my masochistic pleasure to build that caliber. An AR in 7.62x39 can be a real PITA at times. You just have to be gas conscious and not afraid to pull out worthless parts. We'll get you squared away. Shepp got his running like a champ after we T&E a few stock parts and replaced them with some fairly inexpensive replacements.
  21. I lived in Brazil as a teenager. Been there 5 times total. The Brazilian BBQ (churrascaria) is an amazing experience.
  22. If you're building a .338 Lapua Magnum, I'll let you in on the order. ? lol
  23. Working on a massive barrel order from one of our well known barrel makers. Trying to get ahead of their new SS match barrels. Something is coming to AZ.
  24. I showed it to my mother and my 85 yo grandmother. They had the same reaction as your boss.
