  1. Wash is holding out on us.
  2. Where'd you find this mystery rail?
  3. @washguy what rail is that?
  4. I have the 1-6x on my 5.56 rifle. It works so well that I ditched my BUIS. I generally suggest the American Defense QD mounts, but that was because I used BUIS. Now I'm thinking fixed PA mounts are much more affordable and a set of off-set irons is a much better setup.
  5. I have the 10 oz version in mine. The heavens open, and angels sing, every time I pull the trigger. Despite what Clint says, I still use a Tubb flat wire spring. Clint supplies Armalite AR-10 springs.
  6. I want to build up a badass UTAS XTR-12 for a Heli hunt and launch some wicked Federal flight control (9 pellet) 00 buck at some oinkers!!! That would rain down a hell storm of lead death. I gotta talk to UTAS about sending me an upper. I totally plan to build a 26.1 inch "firearm" with a UTAS upper.... even if I have to leave it at Tom's house (fuk u Cali!!!)
  7. The problem is ROEs. Nobody wants a 50 BMG, not even the military. We did talk about making one… But chances are it would likely only be ONE.
  8. This topic spurred us to reexamine our lineup. Aside from the .308 battle rifle and the .338LM long range rifle, we are going to add a 6.5cm to bridge the gap between the two. There's no denying the performance advantage of the 6.5cm after 600 meters vs the .308. This will also carry to 1200-1500, getting close to the .338LM territory.
  9. I like the idea of the ELS to be able to rapidly convert my duty rig to an active shooter rig. I added a Maxpedition drop pouch too. I'll get pics up when it's complete.
  10. I'm actually using a 5.11 Sierra Bravo belt. I attached the Safariland ELS 34/35 QD mount kit to a Bladetech Tek-Lok belt clip. I didn't think the ELS competition belt would fly under the radar of uniform policy.
  11. They will fit the leg shroud. I have the ELS plates on my duty belt so I can QD the rifle mags when needed. My drop leg shroud has my holster, CAT and a 26" baton.
  12. I'm leaning this direction. I can't believe, after all I've spent over the years, I'm whining about a difference of $20-$30.
  13. I recently started building a new "active shooter" rig for my patrol gear. In my haste I must've had .308 on the brain, and I ordered large mag pouches instead of the necessary AR15 size now that I have them, I really like the idea of having a .308 rig... although it'll never likely be used on duty. So here's my options... (I need two pouches) 1. Spend the money and just buy the correct AR15 pouches. $28 ea. 2. Use kydex inserts ($7-$15 ea) to hold the smaller mags inside the larger pouch. Esstac and Haley Strategic. Maybe even fix a short bungee style pouch inside? 3. Half tempted to sacrifice a LR-10 mag body and use it as an insert. Remove the guts, grind the inside smooth and maybe split the spine. An AR15 mag "almost" fits inside the LR PMAG, and I'd only be out of pocket $15-$18.... just have to get over the idea of destroying a perfectly good magazine.
  14. No. I have a contract bid to a foreign (allied) military. Nothing LE here, and there are specific qualifications required.
  15. There are a few specific 6.5 muzzle devices, but they're all generally threaded 5/8x24, so you can still use a .308 size if you'd like. The 6.5 Creedmoor and the .308 are only about .001 off in measurements. The BCG's are interchangeable. This goes for .260 Remington too
  16. I wear something similar (without a hood) under my external armor carrier for a majority of the year. Looks like I might need a hooded version for those days I get rained out.
  17. Now I want the 4-16x F1 and 8-32x F1... damn it.
  18. Magpul FDE or MFT Scortched Earth for the grip. Both can be found at Brownells matching handguard can be more difficult. Try Midwest Industries. I believe they have an FDE handguard still. So does Geissele. Daniel Defense says their rail is FDE, but it's more of a brown color. It still looks good though.
  19. That's good to know. My redneck version would definitely leave a mark
  20. The more I read, the more I like the ATACR F1.
  21. I stand corrected.... ATACR 7-35x56 F1 may be a winner! maybe the B.E.A.S.T. if I drop down in magnification a little bit.
  22. I'd screw a long bolt into it from behind and then use pliers to pull it free. Maybe freeze it before you try to separate.
  23. Have you tried a different bolt yet? Your AIM bolt may be out of spec, just enough to make a difference. This could be an issue of tolerance stacking.
  24. So right now I'm leaning towards a Leupold Mk8 8-32x... the problem is the +$3000 price tag this is purpose built for targets of the "warm two-legged" variety.
