  1. I saw these guys at SHOT. They were partnered up with Falkor (formerly SI Defense). I think they were moving away from PROOF CF wrapped barrels. I have no other info on them.
  2. I'm going to do my damnedest to make sure I have a rifle for this. I ordered a case of ammo for a demo rifle, but I blasted through most of that in the last couple weeks... I have a bunch of the brass saved, at least now I know where I can send it. It's all yours bro. Free. I don't reload, so I don't have any use for it. Don't get too excited… It's just cheap S&B... "Cheap" being a relative term.
  3. That definitely looks like the NiB is flaking. Not that I think it'll effect anything. Still sucks though. I have a shit ton of NiB parts in guns I built from 2007 to about 2013. I have not had any issues with NiB failing me, aside from a few parts that were out of spec (a trigger disconnector and a 5.56 bolt). Around 2013 I started using only melonite. I've just come to trust melonite more based on the application between the two processes.
  4. the stock will fit
  5. I had similar happen to a rifle once. The brass got stuck inside the bolt and jammed the firing pin. The pin was mutilated by the force.
  6. I actually pre-wear all my charging handles. I hit them with a 000 or 0000 steel wool to smooth out the surfaces. This premature wear has never affected the handle negatively. If anything, it assists with the grittiness when doing one handed charging.
  7. For no reason at all, I've been wanting a JP SCS.
  8. Welcome to our clubhouse. From the 916 area.
  9. This is the mount for your PA, to put on your ARAK?? I'm so excited for this.
  10. Or heavier! i have a 17" rifle length system that just hums with a 10 oz tungsten buffer and a Tubbs flat wire spring.
  11. Actually, scrap the AR10 spring. I didn't read you already had a JP spring.
  12. You're correct. More weight in the buffer will slow the cyclic rate down, and bring the ejection back towards the 3-4 o'clock. Upgrade to an Armalite spring while you're at it.
  13. Even you have called yourself much worse.
  14. That's pretty much what I would have done.
  15. Just saw the new SHIELD RMS... very nice!
  16. Just my luck, she won't want one until some crazy holographic, Call of Duty, uber expensive, SyFi shit comes out.... and it ends up costing me $2000!!! Her: Ooooh that's the one I want!!! Me: Whoa! That's way too expensive for a MRDS. Her: How much did you spend on your last X amount of guns??? Me: ..... I got you free shipping from OpticsPlanet... Your MRDS is in the mail.
  17. My wife carries the G19 MOS. She's not interested in a MRDS right now, but I think she'll cave eventually.
  18. Veridian and CT both sell holsters for their devices. Streamlight and SF are so mainstream that everyone else usually has a holster compatible for them. I have an inside contact with LAG Tactical. I may try to do something with them.
  19. I'm leaning towards the Streamlight or the Surefire. I'll either go the budget route, or just say "Fukit" and spend the $$$ for the top dog.
  20. So I want to put a compact light/laser combo on my SA XD-S 3.3 9mm... There are only so many options though, and I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge or history with any specific models? Streamlight TLR-6: 100 lumens with 5mw red laser: $100 Veridian C5L-R: 100 lumens with 5mw red laser: $150 Crimson Trace LL-802: 150 lumens with 5mw red laser: $250 Surefire XC2: 200 lumens with 5mw red laser: $??? Not yet released. This is the only one with a laser above the light. I use a Surefire X300U on my duty pistol now. I used to use an Insight Tech M6 light/laser combo back in the day, but that thing is so dim now I just shelved it.
  21. I just finished a full "force on force" day. The whole time with an AR on a Magpul single point sling that used QD attachments. No failures... and I fidgeted with that gawdam thing the entire time.
  22. Our new sponsor, Moriarti Armaments, has a bunch of 9mm parts.... Just sayin.
  23. Vaporware... I've known the DT guys since SHOT2015. They have a genius product that NOBODY owns. Wish they'd outsource more. I think their bullpup design would take off if presented right.
  24. A FFP scope that costs less than $200?!? Being a "patrol guy" myself, I don't know if I'd trust that glass on my rig. The benefit of the FFP over the SFP is that you can accurately measure drop at any magnification. That's not really a patrol necessity. What is the most likely engagement distance for patrol??? 40-60 yards... maybe? With a 100 yard zero you're within 2.5" of POA from 0 to 250 yards. You'd get a LOT more function out of a Primary Arms 1-6x24mm GenIII ACSS. You will never take advantage of a FFP until you get beyond 300 yards. I have a Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x on my .308 and the fact that it's SFP has never been an issue.
