  1. You don't have to use a lot of rocket science for those kinds of nuts. Just grease the threads, then hand tight it on. Slide a gas tube into the next hole that would line up. Use your spanner to advance to that hole until the gas tube slide into the upper. Done. No torque wrench needed.
  2. The holes in the face of your barrel but are NOT for torquing. You'll just fuckit up that way. It needs to be tightened from its radius, using a spanner wrench... a strap wrench may work too , if that's all ya got.
  3. That's practically the same as the one i use.
  4. The Bobbits! John and Lorena
  5. Strap wrench or spanner wrench
  6. Do any of these count?? too morbid??
  7. That's great!!
  8. The Steve Irwin pic is bad. We need a picture of EVERY girl Tom has dated. HAHAHAHA
  9. In a Bob Mernickle shoulder holster! im determined to own a .500 before I come back... and I'm going to order a box of those 700gr T-Rex loads just for YOU.
  10. It is a Canada thing. The Rossi was imported thinking the barrel was a certain length.... it wasn't. Because of the short barrel length, their Canuck version of the "ATF" determined the pistol grip shotgun was a "pistol". They don't have a minimum barrel length for pistols, so this barrel was cut down. The guy even says only 60 made it into the country, and only 5 of those were cut to 6".
  11. It definitely sheds some light in how Mad Max would've actually reacted.
  12. This is my thought too. Simple and cosmetically appealing.
  13. I'll take his!!
  14. The AP4 GenII uses standard AR15 handguards.... but still has a proprietary barrel but. I have two suggestions; 1. Just remove the plastic handguards and replace with a VLTOR CASV system. You can buy the extended version, which wraps around the FSGB. 2. Remove the delta ring assembly, and separate the barrel nut from the assembly. Use the barrel but with an Apex CNC extended handguard. Both are extremely sturdy systems.
  15. While the Lancers are nice mags, and the 5.56 versions have a stellar reputation, you just can't go wrong with Magpul Pmags. Especially for the cost.
  16. You could buy a carrier designed for a piston system. They don't have gas keys, but they do have a nub for the charging handle to grip. Still, to be on the most legal side, build a dedicated "straight bolt" rifle. A side charge design would be nice for the rapid/faster reloads. If you wanted to be on the tricky side, build a piston upper. When you hunt, turn off the gas and remove the operation rod. It's a 5 second swap. The rifle won't cycle without an op rod.
  17. I like the idea of a new upper built to be a "straight bolt" design. Especially if it's a side charger I may have missed your rifle set up, but why not just pull the gas tube and tilt the gas block off center? if you pull the gas key off your carrier, your charging handle won't have anything to hold on to.
  18. I don't know if you can still do it, but you used to be able to buy the guy bags from the butcher for like $0.05 a pound. I bought pig parts that way. A slaughterhouse would surely have something like that. My buddy owns a duck ranch... I know how silly it sounds, but that have about 1.5 million ducks and slaughter about 40k a day... I'm likely to try getting a bag from him if I ever try to bait out here (very no-no for hunting in CA, but kinda grey zone for "predator abatement")
  19. That has to be beyond my budget too
  20. If you plan to suppress, you have to start planning now. If you're going to thread your can directly to the barrel, then continue as you planned. If you want to swap your can from Gun to Gun, then you'll want to use compatible QD mounts. You might as well start on that route now, instead of buying all new parts again later.
  21. Do you have a set of micrometers? Some measurements are going to be needed in this. It would also help to see pics of the parts uninstalled. One pic of the barrel extension and one of the upper receiver threads.
  22. "PATENT PENDING"..... Why?? Who would copy this?
  23. Soros doesn't care about guns. He cares about money. He could give a fuk less if we were gunning each other down everyday, as long as he makes a buck on every shooting. I'm like Hemi said... I hope he does shut down a few of the big names. That'll give my FFL a chance to step up.
  24. Yes. Those are their barrels, but they were made on their small machines. SRC just acquired a failing barrel company and will be machining their own barrels in house. This will allow them to be a much larger barrel manufacturer... just like the "old days". I'm in talks with them to use their barrels when they get set up.
  25. Sharps Rifle Company will be providing match barrels for this soon. They are getting the same DLC frictionless coating that goes on their new generation BCG.
