  1. You have a lot of barrel to play with. You could just have your original cut and reprofiled. Check out ar15barrels.com and ask Randall to hook you up. No shopping needed!
  2. Both Mom and Dad are back to work now, albeit only 60% each. They each work two 12 hr shifts a a week and stay home with the five kids full time, no sitters. Jonathan is playing in talking almost like normal again. He still has some issues with his right hand though. Doc says it's all just a matter of time and that he's healing great.
  3. While I don't own the P320 (yet) I acquired a grip module to see if I could reverse engineer one. With the pending release of the X5 320 grips, I wanted to look into a few options: 1. Can the grip be made in aluminum, with grip scales (1911 style?) 2. Can the grip be modified to utilize a cheaper, more abundant, magazine... Glock mags in a 320??? the nice part about the 320 and all the 80% frames, I don't have to waste a bunch of $$$ chopping up real pistols. I'd really like to come up with a 320/timberwolf hybrid.
  4. Get off my back!! It's an addiction!!!! New "Fat Daddy" trigger from FreedomSmith.
  5. That was a sweet deal. If I wasn't sitting on a few thousand already, I would've jumped on it. Kinda wishing I did it anyways.
  6. On a serious note... there's a good chance your bolt isn't retracting far enough. Unless you inadvertently hit the bolt release, the bolt shouldn't have gone forward. Is it possible that the bolt was only pulled back far enough to rest on the edge of the magazine follower? When you put your finger in, you may have released the pressure and the bolt tried to slam home. With no mag in the rifle, can you manually lock the bolt back?seeing as you stated you were having failures, this might be worth investigation.
  7. Got my picture in the local paper in Hawkins Bar, after taking a black off the hillside. That was some 15+ years ago. I don't think that local rag was more than 5 or 6 pages deep.
  8. The "true" northern California. Welcome brother. Originally a 707 kid myself, but ended up a 916 adult. I still have family in Eureka. In fact, I've hunted all up above that 299, through Hoopa, up the Trinity and just a hair beyond, almost to the Klamath. Just be mindful of the "green patches" while looking for little black Yogi's.
  9. My first auto ever was a Walther PPK/s .380 ACP. I carried that daily for over 10 years. One of my most favorite pistols ever. The only problem was the .380 left a bit to be desired ballistically.
  10. I thought the REPR came with a fluted barrel?? I know all the other LWRC rifles have hat option.
  11. Same with me brother. Lol
  12. I have carried appendix for years, always wearing my Rosco just to the right of my buckle, at the 1 o'clock. Lately I've been moving over to a 12 o'clock position, directly behind my buckle. I'm finding I get much less "printing" on a larger variety of shirts. I generally wear Wrangler-type jeans and a leather belt with buckle, but on days like today I don't have any issues carrying in shorts and a gunfighter belt. Ive seen a few of the newer holsters designed for a pistol and magazine at this location. The most popular seems to be the G-Code Incog. I think I'm going to get in contact with LAG Tactical to design something similar, but to fit a pistol with a light. It's upsetting to me that there are so few options for subcompact pistols equipped with a WML. "Mexican Carry" (no holster) for the camera
  13. Same with 99.9% of every other shooter. They might "use" the rails, but they only "need" so much.
  14. Those DD rails are as solid as tank armor! I have one on an AR15, and I'd drag that rifle through a combat zone if I had to!! I don't think I've ever had another handguard with a more solid attachment.
  15. Photobucket is a joke. They are all spam and click bait now. Try Flickr.
  16. Also check out the BFG Cobra Sling. If you're running with a huge hog in your arms, the Cobra is a MUCH heartier sling.
  17. Forgot... or ran out of fingers and toes to get past 20?
  18. My drive was 2300 miles, round trip
  19. here it is. XDMan bought a few test grip module sand baked them. He said the frames warped at 200, and started melting at 300.
  20. There was just a big discussion about this online somewhere. A guy tried to duracoat and bake a Sig P320 frame and melted it. Another applicator stated that he used cerakote in the same receivers just fine. If I find it it, I'll repost it.
  21. Cerakote doesn't bake over 200, but 160 should suffice.... Duracoat (and others) start at 250 get up to 500, depending. Be cautious of your equipment.
  22. That is one ugly looking beast.... Cute dog though! Sorry about losing your buddy. You never know how much you'll miss them till they're gone.
  23. Our new sponsor gives discounts/rewards to people who review their products on specific sites. The "quote" is a bit misplaced, but the topic kinda on course.... for a newbie. Hopefully he finds their review section when his product comes in, so he can get credit for his effort. Chances are we'll be seeing small amounts of traffic from this kind of advertising. Funny thing is, they never stay more than 2-3 posts.
  24. Dracos, Falkor and SI-Defense all have the same address... Sooooo.... It looks like this is just another Richard Sonju company. Sonju Industrial Inc (SI) will continue to be an aerospace R&D corp, Falkor is the new face of their FFL, and Dracos is a fancy new barrel company. I'm just guessing here, but that's my take on it. PS. Dracos is latin for Dragon.... PPS. This is Falkor. He was the "Luck Dragon" from the movie Never Ending Story.... Just sayin'
  25. These are both SI-D .308 rifles, built about 2 years apart.
