  1. Ahem... that was TWO life sentences, PLUS 40 additional years.
  2. My only suggestion on this would be to use a steel magazine, or even a Lancer mag. The Pmag has that funny shape to the inside of the magazine, and that (I think) might make those round nose projectiles act a little funny… Or they may not even load it all due to OAL issues?? I'm not saying don't try the Pmag… Just don't give up on it if the Pmag doesn't work out.
  3. I was kinda tempted to put a Meprolight Bullseye sight on this. I changed my mind and I'm waiting for the Surefire XC2 now.
  4. Damnit!!! Does it come in red?
  5. Want to take bets on whether or not this was a Glock takedown? I always hated that the trigger had to be pulled to remove the slide.
  6. PistolGear.com it's amazing what an extra mm will give you. I wasn't expecting much when I first saw it. I was actually shocked with how well it worked. The original lock was flimsy and difficult to apply. This new one takes all the guess work out of its use. The Ed Brown style grip safety is really nice too. It required some very light filing to fit. All in all, the complete replacement only took me about 30-45 minutes (including interruptions from kids).
  7. Just wait till he wants rail covers, a bipod, a different grip, a new stock, BUIS... hates them and switches to off set sights, a sling... changes his mind from a single point and then buys the two point, all the new sling attachment hardware, a scope cover, a new rifle case, more magazines, a spotting scope, new range sand bags, a suppressor, a QD muzzle device for the suppressor.... did i say $1,000? I meant... after the scope and trigger, you will be $1,000 closer to being finished.... yet still far from finished. Lol. Welcome to destitution.
  8. Look here! I have an addiction and I recognize it... and just like my addiction to blowjobs, I don't plan on correcting it anytime soon.... also like blowjobs, my wife doesn't plan on assisting me with my addiction. For the record, I bought this LONG before SA was one of the bad guys. All I wanted was an extended slide release... then I saw the new grip safety... and they come in red!?! What else comes in red??? Oooooh I like that.... Fukc me, that was an expensive slide release!!!
  9. Awesome. So you're about $1,000 away from finished. ?
  10. Adams Arms makes a G2 upper too http://www.adamsarms.net/adams-arms-small-frame-308-pbr-upper
  11. +1 for a great price on a great product i own 4 or 5 Battle Comps, including the BABC. They are top notch in my book.
  12. NO. The DPMS G2 is entirely its own beast. Very few companies make G2 compatible parts. The XTR-12 is based on the more standard DPMS LR308 and KAC SR25 lowers.
  13. The G2 lower is about 3/4" shorter than a standard LR308, and just slightly larger than the AR15 (only at the magwell). Its definitely a superior design, but not really necessary.
  14. Perhaps if it were permanently attached??? I can't find anything that says how much rifling is needed. In other news... here's some pics of the XTR-12 with a .308 mag inserted owner doesn't have a compatible LR308 upper to function check
  15. Come to think of it... there's no ruling to how rifling is done... so if my 12" barrel had a 1:36 or 1:48 twist, that'd still be rifled... debate? what if the rifling was VERY shallow, being nothing more than a visual presence, and at a 1:1 twist, so it passes the rifling faster than the rifling can effect the shot??? debate
  16. I read update up on NFA rules. An AOW is a pistol/revolver with a smooth bore designed or redesigned to fire a fixed shotgun shell. To be a "pistol" the shotgun can never have had a stock on it. Only a pistol grip. In order to fall under the Taurus Judge exemption, we'd need a rifled barrel.
  17. Just imagining a short barreled upper that could be dropped on a 308AR pistol.
  18. Anyone law savvy when it comes to slapping a XTR12 upper on a .308AR PISTOL??? Does law say a pistol can't be converted to shoot shotgun shells?
  19. Im impressed. Want want want.
  20. LOL, We've all got'em. Admitting to them is the first step. It looks like he got it covered.... almost 2 years ago... One of the many suggestions to new builders, both LR-308 and AR-10 formats.... GET THE AR-10A MAGAZINE CATCH!!!!
  21. I got a chance to talk to Mom yesterday. She gave me a small update. Jon is doing great with speech and talking up a storm now. Physical therapy is still slow going, and they are debated about going in another direction, changing PT facilities. Spirits are high and positive. I'm going to plan a date to get my kids and them together, hopefully next week.
  22. The circle frame makes it difficult, but I think I captured the essence of the message.
  23. Yawn... I'm really going to miss the five or six more posts this guy was going to make about never completing his rifle. Oh oh and his extra special update 9 months from now listing all the excuses of why he still hadn't pulled his head out yet and made a complete rifle.
