Should be more than a stock bike, which was right around 60hp. I need to see what it does, anyway. I need more jets, before I start, so I can run the jetting up and see how it does. Screwy thing about a dyno, and tuning a 2-stroke - you don't tune based on A/fr. The smoke in a 2-stroke will screw up and air/fuel ratio monitor pretty bad. You just have to tune to the jetting changes. Run it, check numbers, change a jet and run it again against the numbers. You'll only be able to change one jet at a time and watch progress, until it starts coming back down again. Then you know where the power mark was and what jet that was. I always tune a 2-stroke with 15% brake on the drum, to simulate the load on the engine in sand. Here's what I did on my first-overbore (66.25mm piston) on the 250 2-stroke quad: Here was the tuning I did on the M109, after pulling the secondary throttle plates - Initially, with the secondaries out, when you'd mash it, it would shoot to over 18:1 A/fr. Not good. Tuned it in to pull a consistant 12.75:1 A/fr, just going a little lean at redline... I really like that bike - over 100 lb/ft of torque from 2,250 RPM all the way to redline... >:D :hethan:

High 80s easily, if I can find a stretch just a little bit longer than what I was on. And it gets there right now. One way I can find out is to take it to the old shop I worked at and strap it down on the dyno. The bonus is getting a Hp and Tq graph on it.

Love those little bastards, fillet them, batter them, cook some mushrooms... As a kid, I'd hit the reservoir early in the morning, right after a paper route. Bluegill, crappie and eggs for breakfast. <thumbsup>

I was up on the tank most of the time - had no idea how these tires were gonna be, no clue. Didn't know if they'd grip and send me on my back, or be so old and hard that they'd just burn out and get no traction. The hazards of used tires. I really want 17" wheels for this bastard, and real sportbike tires. I'd like to get them out more and get more time on it, but I don't know if the local PD will be listening for the magic sound of 2-stroke now... <lmao>

What gas block do you have? It'll probably stick out a little. Micro gas block with a 12.875" rail on one of mine - rail comes directly to the end of the gas block. It more depends on the gas block you have, but something is gonna hang out, I suspect...

There were no crashes - there was also a little white Ford pickup that pulled in there for some reason. Dude was parked on my prime #1 selection of road for a "dragstrip." I had to improvise, and run other smaller roads. I kept up on the tank to keep the damn thing from looping out from under me, but I did scoot back and let it lift on one short stretch. From experience, it flips over on it's back in an amazingly quick amount of time - I wasn't doing that on asphalt, in a t-shirt. Damn thing gets up to speed quick, though. Those tires grab. Got about another hour before the vid is complete. Oh, the rest of the afternoon, there was a cop car sitting under a shade tree in that "neighborhood..." - saw him sitting there during two different trips to the store. I need to take this thing down to Tucson to the supermoto track...
-
It does burnouts like a possessed beast. Good thing is, I don't care about the tire, and it didn't cost me anything but the time changing it. I'll get you guys a burnout vid... <lmao> Still have some time left uploading the "empty neighborhood..."

Brilliant idea came to me at work yesterday - tons of take-off tires outside, in the tire bins. One guy was working on something, and he says, "What size if the rear wheel n your CR again?" 18"... He hands me a tire. I went out back, dug out an old 21" for the front, and started changing tires last night. There's an unfinished neighborhood right beside ours, only thing that was originally developed was all the paved roads and stop signs. Just got back from running it over there. WOrking n uploading the vid now. This thing is ridiculous with street tires on it... :hethan:

Yeah, I might not have the choice. I might drop, roll, roll, roll.... tumble tumble, slide... roll, roll, ... THUNK! Stop. Trial run was successful. Video coming soon...

That's exactly why I've only been using the once fired NATO brass to convert cases. <thumbsup> Some are on their 4th reloading, and still looking good. Not that "looking good" is the indication that they're not work hardening, but... <lmao> No splits in the case mouths yet.

Be patient, be patient. I'm working on it. I hit a delay last night. Right back at it right now... Won't take much longer...

And yet again , more ammo for the DHS
98Z5V replied to survivalshop's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
I am completely in agreement with you on that, brother. Completely. I really do think it's this administration that's buying up the ammo for the sole purpose if limiting the availability to the public. Convinced without a doubt. It's as much about "buy bulk and save" as Clive Bundy's ranch is about the desert tortoise. There's very "hidden agenda" things going on below the surface lies. -
I'ma damn idiot for even attempting this. I'm 1/2 done right now, and working on the other 1/2... This will not work out well for me. I can feel that right now.

^^^ I think I have a picture of you dressed like that - better be careful, or I'll post it! <lmao>

Working on something that is probably in the "Top 10 Dumbest Things I've Ever Tried..." It'll take me a few hours work, and I won't know the results until tomorrow morning sometime. I'll get pics up here in a few hours, when the transformation is complete. I won't try it out until tomorrow. This is something that REQUIRES daylight... >:D :hethan:

Yep, run a mag of 8 and keep it flush with the grip whilst carrying. Lower profile that way, less chance of printing, easier to conceal. First reload needs to hold as many as you can, or as many are legal. 10 is about it for a .45 ACP single stack, unless you're looking for competition mags. I'm pretty sure the legal capacity of any pistol in Cali is 10 rounds. I don't carry the XD when I go to Cali - I take a Kimber with 10s.

I AM IN!!! Let me know when you're working on it - I can break away on Thursdays, and visit for a bit. Do manual labor. Take out trash, sweep the shop... <lmao>

Pssshhh... doesn't matter how far away I am - you'd still get me with that damn MRAD... :hunter: <lmao>

I've really, really been thinking of picking up a machine for this, primarily for 300 brass. Right now, I'm only converting once-fired NATO brass, which is annealed very well. Still some annealing on it once it's cut down. I just hate cutting out the primer crimp on them. Someone posted up an automated machine that worked incredibly well - I looked that thing up and it was decently expensive, but looked worth it. Very good article on the process: http://www.6mmbr.com/annealing.html

Yep, they were all red chevrons. They worked damn well. I can see the green being easier to pick up, though. I've got a Leup that's got green illumination in it, and that is very, very easy to sight.

Wow. You are full of yourself. I think it's ironic that you used Wiki as your justification... <lmao>
