DAAAAYUM, SS!!! That's WICKED TORQUE on that thing!!! :hethan: :hail:
  2. If I'm running the sling like I should, my forward hand will always be under the fore end, open. Think "taco" and not "burrito." You don't want it wrapped tight onto the fore end. Just enough grip with my firing hand to hold onto the rifle. I'll even sling up if using a bipod, for the extra tension on the rifle - it's good stability. Other times, I'll rest the rifle on a rifle rest or bipod, and run my forward (non-firing) hand on the back bottom side of the buttstock. The front of the rifle is on the rest, or the bipod, and I'll control minor movements on sighting/elevation changes with my left hand on the back bottom of that buttstock. Here's a picture of "taco, not burrito." I'll see if I can find a video of the "holding the buttstock" method. I know there's one out there. Here we go:
  3. Not necessarily. There's literally ONE part that's different than any standard AR-15 = the barrel. I built Dawn Marie's 14.5" 300BLK rifle and started it with a standard carbine buffer. It's a 14.5" carbine gas setup, I load the bullets with 150gr projos and a little hot. I felt I could soften it up a little for her, so I added an H2 buffer to it. Shot great before, shoots a little better for her now, more controllable. I'd say start with a standard buffer if you want, see how it does, and move to an H or H2 buffer later if you feel the need. .
  4. Glad it made a difference to people, and happy to provide it. I'll be here all night, just remember to tip your server... <lmao>
  5. I'll put it on my coke-gram-scale and let you know what happens brother!
  6. Magwa, with you being so far west, I'm surprised you're so familiar with Tecumseh, and the Shawnee. I'm part Shawnee myself, through heritage, but not enough to qualify as NAI. Maybe that's why I feel such an urge to give you a pants-down hug, brother... <dontknow> <lmao>
  7. 3rd vid... GOD'S GUN!!! ALRIGHT!!! :hethan:
  8. Local guy with it... I buy it.

I need to get Taz in this thread - he and I got into the M109R engines in 2007, big time. We bought a "spare engine" just to tech out, and find improvements - it was tough. At one point, there was one of our engines that layed down 161hp, with all-stock bottom internals. We were gunning for a Hp figure that would kick the $hit out of a V-Rod Destroyer. Those of you that don't know what the Destroyer is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harley-Davidson_VRSC#VRXSE:_V-Rod_.22Destroyer.22

Jackpot - that's some Japanese V-Twin, right there. Those are the tuning runs I had to make on my M109 (Suzuki), once I pulled the secondary throttle plates. Your right wrist controls the primary throttle plates, but the computer decides when to open the secondaries, at it's leisure. I was NOT okay with that, so I yanked the secondary plates. I WILL BE THE ONE that controls throttle opening, gawd-daymit. No other way. Computer can kiss my ass... However, I loaded that thing up on the dyno, secondaries removed (there's more mods, just not talked about right now), and WHACKED THAT THROTTLE. Shot over 18:1 af/r. LEAN!!! Had to make almost 30 runs on the dyno to get that lean spike taken care of, and that's what you guys see in the graph. Simple tuning for the mod went from 131hp/117lb/ft to 135hp/122lb/ft. Just from tuning. Af/r was 12.75 all the way out, until 6500rpm, then it went lean and spiked to 15:1. I didn't have anymore time on the dyno at that point, so I couldn't fix the end of it. How many Harley guys can say they have 100lb/ft of torque from 2,250rpm all the way to 7,200 rpm? NONE! Harley's don't know what a rev past 5,500 rpm sounds like! <lmao> What's cool in this build was 110lb/ft of torque from 2,700rpm to 6,000 rpm. Torque makes engines. Hp is just an equation of "torque over time." I've skeered some Harley owners at some dyno shootouts - they're not used to hearing an engine revving that high - or putting out numbers that high. They kinda $hit themselves... <lmao> Let's race!
  11. I've still got 3lbs - I know I can get more locally (will travel).
  12. You guys shouldn't laugh - bastards. I shot Blue's .460 S&W Magnum like that, and got hit just like that. Damn near split my wig. I couldn't believe the damn recoil on that thing, so I shot the cylinder until it was empty (stOOOPID thing to do). I was such a dumbass that I thought it was a fluke, so I stood beside Jon when HE fired it, just to make sure the recoil was the same. Long story short(er) - the recoil is MUCH WORSE when you're BESIDE the damn thing. It's UNBEARABLE when you're shooting it. It's "xxxxxxxxxx" when you stand beside it. That one is ALL on me...

DAMN!!! I think that was everything Drew was looking for, and you CRUSHED that one outta the park!!! <laughs>
  14. Hey now, hold the fuk on for a second here. You've been on this board talking $hit like you're some kind of LE agent or something, and NOW you know everything about being in another job. For clarification, WHAT THE FUK ARE YOU? Are you LE? Or, are you UAW in some manner or fashion? As far as the LE question goes, it's pretty damn simple. You ARE Law Enforcement, OR, you ARE NOT Law Enforcement. ***Last comment deleted, pending your response***
  15. That's the 2-stroke way of doin' things! <lmao>
  16. I don't think there's any other state that put on the fireworks display that we do. We travel. We produce. Bad Times are NEVER HAD here! <lmao> I'll stock up on the Tannerite now. Drew needs to $hit-can another phone for us sometime soon. <thumbsup>
  17. It gets us all, at times. Whatever you do, DO NOT search any YT vids on Pat McNamara. I'm just sayin'...
  18. Just let us know the dates, man, and we'll set something up during the timeframe. You might shat yourself when you see the stuff that shows up, though. Fair warning ahead of time... <lmao>
  19. ^^^ That's the whole reason I hate hydraulic buffers. They have no purpose, but to fail on you, eventually, as every hydraulic cylinder will fail on you eventually. They will fail RIGHT at the time you need them to work. because that's Murphy's Law. You can't beat Murphy's Law. Weighted buffers and real chrome silicon springs will work just fine. And, they're not complicated. <thumbsup>
  20. Not yet - just worked on it 2 days ago, told him the door was in spec, and matched the doors I have. His upper didn't measure out like other uppers I have. Told him he was screwed. Now, I have a solution for him. I'll get one ordered and installed on his rifle, then report back. <thumbsup>
  21. Ironically, I just worked on a rifle owned by a guy at work. His cover won't stay closed, due to upper receiver machining. One little bump and it flies open. This is his cure. Awesome.
  22. If it's not made by Armalite, it's not an AR-10. Comes right down to that. There are some other manufacturers that follow the AR-10 pattern, but you wouldn't refer to them as AR-10s.
  23. beach, it just takes time, brother. They'll reproduce on their own if you give them enough time. Before you know it, you'll have more in your safe than you ever remember purchasing... <lmao> My "Stack Of Kimbers:"
  24. During talks with a Springfield rep, they will NOT be making this pistol in .40. Too much pressure, so they're not going to produce it. What I heard from an official rep. <dontknow>
  25. Pick a Thursday or a Sunday when you can get to Jon's range in Marana, and you can shoot the piss out of mine, brother. Preferrably, it would be a Thursday or a Sunday when Jon is running the range. This now puts the burden on Jon, to list his upcoming schedule, so we can make arrangements... <lmao> HURRY UP, JON!!! <laughs>
