  1. ^^^ I really, really like George. I did the same damn thing, but I couldn't take more than 15 months in that sheithole. I'd had enough, and left. Back to AZ. <thumbsup>
  2. You have a BCM charging handle - you can access that charging handle with the mount installed the right way. Try it. All you lose is some range time to re-zero. Geissele Hi-Speed DMR trigger. It might not make sense now, but it'll make sense once you install it and shoot it. Especially for your primary purpose...
  3. ^^^ Definitely the first things to look at. When you can, get the details of those two inspections in here. Buffer info, spring info, receiver extension info.

    Sorry Bro

Mag release was good from the factory, on mine. It didn't last long, and was replaced by that PRP extended release, though. THAT one was a little sticky at first, but broke in very, very quickly. For break in - I just took mine out and put two boxes of ammo through it. It loosened up nicely. I'd consider it broken in at this point, for sure. I'll run two more boxes through it tomorrow, and get more feedback up. I need to deal with that 25 yard target again... <thumbsup>
  5. ALOT...
  6. Used to mount the PVS-14s on everything. We ran them as a monocular on a head-rig, rifle mounted, on the 240s, anything we could have the unit armorers mount a piece of pic rail to and still get a good sighting setup. Those were the military issued PVS-14s, not the cheaper versions. Which brings up a great point. There's lots of companies that make a "PVS-14," and you'll see alot of different prices. The really expensive ones are the real deal, there are only a small/few companies that make them, and will hold up to anything you can throw at them, or mount them to.

    Sorry Bro

Just an update - got all my PRP parts installed. The extended grip safety required minor fitting, to operate smoothly (sanded/polished the contact points at the top, and increased spring pressure). Everything works like a damn charm in function testing. Hoping to get out Friday for another couple boxes of ammo. They just got in 6 more of them yesterday, and I almost bought another. Seriously. Still thinking about it.
  8. Need a rifle list, too, so I know what to bring. I have an idea of some of them, but if there are any particular rifles that someone wants to fondle, lemme know. I'll pack 'em. <thumbsup>
  9. Talking about the Final Finish, brother?
  10. I've used the Tubb Final Finish ammo on several 5.56 builds. I can't say if it worked or not, but those particular rifles are accurate as all hell.
  11. If you really have 13.5" of drop at 300, with a 200-yard zero, then your calculations/clicks are off. 1/8th MOA scope. 1 MOA = 1.047". Instead of 36 clicks, it should be 34 clicks, for a 13.5" drop at 300. I can make the math work for 36 clicks, if I use 1/8 inch, instead of 1/8th MOA.

    Reloading question

Terry, some of my 5.56 loads are at the point where they're almost compressed loads. Especially the heavies. No crimp, no cannelure projos, and one of those catches going out of the mag and into the chamber - bullet setback, which definitely compresses the load. Pressure spike, right there, and it's in the chamber, bolt closed on it. You never get a chance to see it, during the loading process. Pull the trigger on that one, and the rifle can come apart in your hands. Not a big deal on a bolt gun, but it's a big deal on the autoloaders. There's some hellish spring pressure shoving a heavy bolt carrier to load that next round. One cartridge with a setback projectile can do much more than ruin your day, if it causes that rifle to come apart. APR, projos with a cannelure are better for the autoloaders, and hold a crimp better, but they're not necessary.
  13. Hell yeah - good work, micro. <thumbsup>

    Reloading question

Semi-auto rifles - 5.56 and .308 - I hit every round with a light taper crimp. Bullet setback can ruin your day, ruin your rifle, and possibly much worse. Not worth the risk. I hit them all, if they're going through the autoloaders.
  15. Make sure you seal the base of the key - not necessarily the threads on the allen bolts, man. <thumbsup> The staking holds the bolts in.
  16. It ships with a 10rd mag, with hi-viz yellow MagPul follower. <thumbsup>

    Pic Of The Day

^^^ What he said... Hey, Jon... :thefinger:
  18. Mossberg MVP is still a go, then. Run your AR mags, bolt action, fluted heavy barrel, non-threaded. I must admit, it's a damn good rifle, too. 1:9 twist keeps it very accurate for the 55gr stuff, and it does well with 62gr M855. Something to ponder, brother. ^^^ <laughs> <lmao> Just make sure you get out west, somewhere around the mountains. The NOVA area sucks, because DC sucks. <thumbsup>
  19. Damn. I wanted you to get that thing, micro.

    Sorry Bro

Right on, sketch! You're gonna like it. <thumbsup>
  21. Nice!
  22. Fixed that for ya. Sounds like another tight DPMS chamber to me.
  23. They'll be extended pins - don't be offended... :))
  24. You live in Cali. Your argument is moot.
