  1. I tried the previous version, that I bought for her, and they were quite nice, shooting. I pre-ordered the next gen when they were announced, just for her - but that was a long time ago, and fuk her. So, I have them coming, now. I'll test them out. If anyone needs to make a reference to her, feel free - I'll tell you all about it. I'll tell you all about the massive amount of POS that DirtBike Tommy is, too. Just ask. @Robocop1051, cut away from Sarah, brother - you 2 are FB buddies now - cut her loose, brother, I'm seeing what she's doing. She's a real piece of shiit, man. Get away now, before she sucks you in, like she just tries to suck my other friends in. Bail, man, just bail... She already told a complete line if shiit to @Matt.Cross, that isn't even true...
  2. Get in now, before the price goes up again - and don't look back. I tested the previous version that I bought for a chick here on the board, that is now verboten. Fuk her. She liked them, on the previous version. She's fucking married-ass (20+ years) DirtBike Tommy now, from his shady shiit that he had to pull just for female cat, so fuk them both. They're both dead to me. I'm sure you can figure out who "she" is... DirtBike Tommy is a serious - SERIOUS - PIECE OF SHIIT. That dude is DONE.
  3. I like this plan. My neighbors don't come around me anyway, and I'll never get icicles here, but I'll think of something along this line to further distance myself.
  4. We had some pretty cool Medics, man. Better than some of the ER Docs you'll ever see in the .civ world. Badasses.
  5. Hit this book, brothers - I know I've pushed it before. The Team Sergeant in this book is Randy Derr - he was one of my Jumpmaster Instructors in 1995, in 1 SFG(A). This book parallels my deployment in Afghaniland. I bumped into Randy in the TOC in J-Bad when we landed, just when his mission was starting there. Got the full intel dump straight from my old JM Instructor, who to contact, what freqs to use on the radio when/if things go south. Bad motherfucker. His data-dump ended up paying off, too. Check it out - it's one of these two covers, but this is the book:
  6. That sleep technique listed above works. I learned that decades ago - it works most of the time. During times if Significant Emotional Events, it doesn't work. Melatonin 5mg does it for me, most of the time just one, depending on the circumstances, 2 of those little happy bastards. Out in less than 30 minutes with those, for me. Sleep is super important for performance, cant state that enough. The worst I've had it is 15 minutes of sleep in 96 hours (that's 4 days). That sucked, but sometimes it has to be done. That's pushing your body to it's very limits, right there. Only do that when necessary, and not on a bender... I've done alot of 72-hour sessions, out of necessity as well. Can't be helped. The most shiit thing, even more then the 96-hr thing, was landing in Afghaniland. We hit the ground, and had 36 hours before getting on a helicopter in the middle of the night, landing at some outpost (turned out is was later named "Camp Blessing*), to get in Toyotas to drive another 40 miles in the dark, through the night, to arrive at an encampment in Khowst. From there, it was daylight, and we re-arranged gear, and left to climb a 2k foot tall hill, to provide electronic overwatch for the night. I was up all night. We came down in the morning, only to move out immediately and go on a 20-mile nature hike up a valley that no American had been in since 1995. That was a joy. That ended up being another 96er, or more. I don't even remember now, unless I'd really think about it and add the hours up. It was miserable, but had to be done. The flight to Afghaniland was pure pleasure, though. Get on the plane, Medic comes around and gives everyone an Ambien or Halcion. OUT!... zzzz.... 15 minutes before we land, Medic comes around and wakes everyone up, and hands you a Dexedrine or Modafinil. Instant awake, and alert! Got hit with that for the flight to Germany, and from Germany to Baghram AB. Lots of sleep on that flight - but then lots of awake after that, too. We needed it. Certain units in the military are drug pushers...
  7. You're welcome, brother. Just a side note on me... the military has a threshold for hearing aids. I got a right hearing aid issued to me right before retirement, and almost had a left one. The cutoff is 40% loss. I have a high and low tone loss in both ears, and tinnitis. I was 41% in the right ear, got the eharing aid for it, but I was 38% in the left ear - no hearing aid. GOt issued a fukkin' $4k hearing aid, though. I never wear the fucker. The tinnitis got me 10% for disability, on top of all the shiit that I did, but I didn't get a damn thing for the hearing loss, except for that hearing aid. The motherfuckers.
  8. Check these guys out: https://proears.com/ The Stealth 28 HTBT are the ones coming out in April - you can still get a hell of a discount if you pre-order now. $126 instead of $180. Back whenever, I jump on the 50% off initial deal and pulled them for $90. https://proears.com/product/stealth-28-htbt/ I have a couple sets of the Walker Silencers, and they work great! I also have a set of electronic muffs that work very, very well... better than the earbud versions, by far.
  9. Predominantly the 3-flange plugs in the little case, worn directly on the uniform jacket. That way you always had them with you. They worked, but weren't comfortable for long periods. The foamies were better for long sessions. Training? Yes, most of the time. I never wore plugs in an aircraft for a jump, or in a boat, or in a HMMWV or bigger trucks. Fuk that, need to be able to hear what's going on, not muffled. Training Firearms Ranges? Yep, always. If I was doing a pistol-only range, I wore ear muffs. Nobody cared or gave me any shiit for it. Combat? Not a chance. You DEFINITELY need to be able to hear your surroundings, it's a must. It shiit kicks off, deal with it. I wish we had the badass electronic earpro that's out now - back then. I have several sets of the stuff, and it's fantastic, revolutionary, really. Still waiting on a pre-ordered, first-in buy-in for the new Pro Ears that are getting released in April sometime. I paid up on those things in November. EDIT - forgot to mention this part... Your body is both amazing, and fuckin' WEIRD. Three times I'd had shiit get busy in a combat zone. The adrenaline dump is wild. After gunfire settles, I don't remember any ringing in the ears, at all.
  10. I'm a paint Ninja, man...
  11. I will paint the FUK out of that thing for you, brother! Make sure you send it with the optic, so I can match everything up there, too. You'll get it back looking something like this one... (click it... it gets bigger... )
  12. This has all been answered here before. Welcome aboard.
  13. Hey, when you do something like that, you're a little proud of it. It even shocked me...
  14. Go slow with the bit, and there shouldn't be any burrs. If you have a burr after that, the first projectile out of the barrel will take care of it.
  15. This weekend... @DNP ans @AZMan are already there. I'm headed out in the morning to meet up with them. I'll get GoPro vids and post them up. Gonna be a fuckin' GREAT getaway weekend... https://www.explorekingman.com/event-winter-blast-havasu-02-2022 Here's a preview of the 2020 show...
  16. @JBMatt, Todd bought a Savage bad-to-the-bone .338 Lapua bolt gun - he wants to hit the Mile BAD... His Win Mag wouldn't do it (poor choice on projectile selection), so we'll be dealing with a .338 Lapua at Spring Shoot. Interested in an over-and-under on whether we hit before he does?...
  17. I cold-bored that Win Mag Mile - you should be able to pull this off with the 300BLK at 1k yards... I'm just sayin'...
  18. I caught that one, Mack - very nice, laying it in there...
  19. NICE FIND!!!
  20. Okay. I never did like this rifle. Only gun I ever considered selling, just because the only "purpose" it had was to beat the price of the BCM Haley Jack gun. I beat that in spades. But, that was the only purpose I really had for building this gun in the first place. I never really shot it. It ended up with a 1~6 scope, that I pulled off it for the .338 Fed gun. I raided a charging handle out it if for something, and the trigger... I liked it, but just didn't like it, if that makes sense. Well... that motherfucker is in a WHOLE NEW WORLD right now... I had to find this topic, just to Necro it 8 years later... Swapped in a BA Cro-Mo 18" SPR barrel, popped in a LaRue trigger, "found" an original BCM VLTOR large-latch charging handle buried in the gunsafe, and popped on a temporary optic (until I can get another one from PA, and another LT-158 mount from LaRue). This is a BAD BITCH now. 5.56 Fury. All the sudden, I love this gun, like I hated it before. 180* turn on this fucker...
  21. Gas port diameter on an 18" rifle-gas .308 Win gun with a 0.750" gas block journal size needs to be 0.093"~0.096".
  22. I live this every single day. They bring me old shiit, never maintained, ranch stuff... and wonder why there's a 1.5 hr charge for "broken bolt extraction" on their bill - because YOU NEGLECTED IT, is why. I run straight labor for fucked up parts on old rigs. Straight-time, is what those get. If it took me 0.78 hrs to get that fucker out, you pay 0.78 hours of my time. If it took me 1.27 hours - that's your bill, too. Bring me old, neglected shiit, and that's not my fault. You'll pay what it takes - and I'll charge you what it takes. I won't fuk you - you'll see my labor clock-in time, and clock-out time for that. You can't argue that. I make your fucked up hardware a separate job-line, when I'm dealing with your broken shiit. Fight that if you must, but you won't win... Oh, and I always call you first, and let you know what I'm dealing with - you KNOW...
  23. They should. Post a pic of the gas key on the BCG of your Stag, with one of those AR15 gas keys right in front of it. That will answer the question right away.
  24. For the gas-operated guns, they're all the same. Minus Armalite AR-10 gas keys. We've posted on those before in a thread here. Piston gun are a different animal, and dependent on the manufacturer.
