  1. That's gotta suck for hunting. That long of a barrel isn't easy to carry all day, if you're walking for/to game, doesn't clear brush or veg easily, and the swing-weight on a 24" barrel is tremendous. That's alot of barrel hanging out there in front of you, and moving it from side to side is alot harder than swinging a shorter barrel.
  2. No reason for a flaming at all, man. None. Different things for different people. The longest barrel that I have on any .308AR is 18.5", and that gun is a dream to shoot. I've got another 18" gun, a 16" gun, 13.5" gun, and a 12.5" gun - all in .308 Winchester, and all ARs. None of them are horrible to shoot, in the least, and they all have a different use/purpose. That 13.5" gun only has a red dot on it, and I can accurately run that thing out to 400 yards. There's a thread here somewhere on that, specifically. Hell, I've got a Ruger GunSite Scout Rifle, and that thing is pure badassery, right there. Bolt gun, 16" barrel, mag-fed... With a comp on the end of the barrel, (and only red dot) that thing is actually peaceful to shoot. The 12.5" only has a red dot on it as well, but this fall, I'll mount a magnified optic on it and take it out to 850 yards, just dialing the scope for that. Gonna be an interesting test, but it will blow away some of the theories that are out there... An accurate gun is always an accurate gun. The shorter barrel of an accurate gun, compared to the same accurate gun with a longer barrel - well, that accurate shorter barreled gun just needs more drop at distance, due to a slower initial muzzle velocity. That doesn't mean it any less accurate - you just have to hold or dial more, and that's purely from the muzzle velocity lost due to the shorter barrel. Everything else you told him was spot-on. "Height over Bore" is what gets people...
  3. I hear ya, brother. Fuckin' Doubters will LEARN!... https://giphy.com/gifs/ftr4ee1obbdJCXeeGb
  4. Anzio Ironworks. 20mm rifle. That's what it shoots. Looking at that thing in his hand closer, that might be a 30mm... Yep, that's a 30 on his hand... Anzio 20mm gun
  5. ^^^ With that said, night-time temps are finally dropping here, so it's time for me to get back out in the reloading shed at night and get shiit moving again. I have 900 projectiles for the Grendels, 123 ELD-Ms, 700 projectiles for the 6 ARC, the 108 ELD-Ms... Not nearly the brass for the 6 ARC, though. I can't find .30 cal Hornady 178 ELD-X anywhere. Can't find .264 Hornady 147 ELD-Ms, either, and that's my .260 Rem load. I'm fucked on .308 heavies and .260 Rem stuff. I'm out of projectiles. 400 Hornady 88gr ELD-Ms for the Valk, but the Valk is down, until the real LaRue parts come in for the 6 ARC gun. 500 of the Hornady 75gr HPBTs for the 5.56 heavies. Less than 300 of the Berrys 115gr 9mm projos. Less than 400 55gr 5.56 bulk projos. I need to get to the reloading, so I'll jam up the 9mm and finish what I have for projos, 6.5G will keep me busy, I have enough brass to do all those projos. I'm fucked until things start to resupply...
  6. I KNEW that either you, Larry, Greg or Rob was gonna nail that planted comment... Well done, brother... I have a prize for you, brother, for being the FIRST to call out the Shenanigans... I think you'll love it,too...
  7. I've got you covered, man...
  8. @Rsquared, that reminds me of this one...
  9. I run the MagPul MOE K2 grip on all my guns that have shorter barrels, and I've been running it on distance guns for a couple years now - I like it, and it helps. It's worth it. I ran the K2+ for a little while, many years back, but that thing softens up out here in the AZ heat, and gets sticky, like old dirtbike grips. I ditched the few that I had for the full-plastic K2s. Your mileage will vary on that, if you don't live near the surface of the sun, like me. For me, the K2+ is out, as well as all other rubberized grips. Not here... That barrel looks short - don't put a buttstock on it. At least until you get the SBR tax stamp back.
  10. Lyman has a billet machined block that does a bunch of different cases, in one. They have a couple of these. Then, they have the individual ones, per caliber. Depending on what you load, you might want to check the ones that do several common calibers. If you're shooting something weird, you'll need the individual gauge.
  11. 6.5 Grendel. It won't disappoint you. 6.8 SPC might disappoint you, depending on your your plans for it are - it's not a long-distance cartridge, at all. Neither is the 300 HAMR. Grendel can do it all - Hunt, distance, ft/lbs of energy on target... It's the perfect small-frame AR cartridge. Close runner up (IMHO) is 6 ARC. Good luck finding parts and ammo right now, though, it's too new, released/announced on 3 June 2020. 6.5 Grendel = Hunting cartridge that can do distance. 6 ARC = Distance cartridge that can do hunting. I have a 12.5" barreled Grendel gun that can repeatedly smack steel at 850 yards with 10.6 mils of drop dialed in. I'm still working on the 6 ARC, and the handloads for it. 18" Grendel is 8.5 mils of drop at 850 yards, handloads, Hornady 123 ELD-M projectiles. The 18" 6 ARC is 7.1 mils of drop at 850 yards, Hornady Match 108gr ELD-M loaded ammo.
  12. Sponge Camo is badass - I did up this Savage FV-SR with all Aervoe spray cans, with a sea sponge...
  13. Pistol-bracing that one, @Bear?...
  14. If we can ever drag you out to a major shoot out here - you'd find that it's much the same way... The Shenanigans never stop, no matter what...
  15. Are you saying you want another large-frame, and you're looking at those two as possibilities for that? I ask because they're both small-frame ARs.

  17. Told you time, and time again - I don't delete ANY of my posts here, ever. And that means EVER. I say what I mean, like it or not. I give zero shiits if it offends someone here. That's me, and I've never wavered from that - in all my life, here, or anywhere else. You don't have to "pay" anything here, besides becoming a member of the board. You "paid" what? How much money? Oh, you "paid" TIME. That's all. You were unwilling to do that, make an Intro - you just wanted free info, so you could move on. You were here for YOU - zero fuks given for the information that members of this board have learned, the hard way, through years and years of trial an error - mistakes, learning, modifications, corrections to guns, - just to make them run. You just demanded the experience of others, with no output from you, or who you are. That's all we "charge." Tell us about YOU. I'm not the one that needs the info that you're asking about - and neither is anyone else here, that has the info that you're asking about. We worked for it, the hard way, and just "figured it out" over the long term. Our small pennance is... Tell us about YOU. For some reason, you thought that you were OWED that information, that so many here have worked years - decades - to obtain, and work out. Perfect example - you were simply asked, very early on in this thread, to make an introduction, and tell us about yourself. That's our "paycheck" here on this board - become a member of the board. You had none of that. Instead, you blew that off, but you STILL got your information, didn't you?... We only ask people here to GIVE when they GET, and become real members - share information. You were having none of it. You were greeted, eventually, as you greeted those that GAVE you information. When it didn't turn out in your favor, you were suddenly "offended." Get over yourself. I never delete anything that I say here. Ever. You need to correct yourself on that. If that post is gone, it wasn't anything that I did - I never hide from my own words. Unfuk yourself on that thought-process. If you can. Thanks for your Intro - finally - that you were asked for initially - 'bout time you got with the program. Well done, on your part.
  18. You missed your mark - you stated "whining" or "Whiny" - please point those out. Your words. Your complete disrespect for the entire board came when you were asked multiple times for an Intro post, and you blew that off, only seeking free information, instead. That's the disrespect, right there, for the entire board here, that puts in all the time to GIVE information to so many people, routinely, of our own accord. Once our congeniality is pissed on, we tend to turn away.
  19. Mikey could appendix a full-size 1911 - he has the "dick-room" in the jeans to hide one, unnoticed. I'm not sayin' that I've looked, but he's packin' when he's not packin'... Reminds me of this - hit it at 1:26 for the Full Glory:
  20. Wow. Just, Wow. Same guy, maybe? https://forums.gunsandammo.com/profile/luis11
  21. That's cute. Please point out where I called you a whiner, or at least positively identify the "whining" that you referenced earlier. And please leave me a link to your intro post, that was requested of you numerous times prior to that - and again - by others - after that. I'll wait... Please point out how I offended you. I'm not sorry - you're just a dick, looking for free information, with zero intentions of actually being a member of this board, and you've demonstrated that, all on your own. Oh, and I didn't delete my own comment. I never do that. Smooches.
  22. You can bitch about me all you want, with all the free info you got, and you never obliged a single thing asked of you. Can't even go make an Intro Post and tell us about yourself, like suggested of all new members that seem like they just want free information. Your free info from me dried up, until you find a way to accomplish that task. I'm sure you can muscle through it, somehow. Oh, I never delete anything that I say, either. Never.
  23. DAMN!!! THAT THING JUST WORKS!!! Ya done WELL on that gun, man - VERY WELL...
