Military Firearms available again
98Z5V replied to survivalshop's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
I didn't forget - It's been bugging me, and I should have sent it out a long time ago, when I got another, and another... Early on, when I needed ONE, I should have just ordered TWO... "Okay, THIS ONE IS DOC'S!!!" ...then another gun build pops up outta nowhere... -
Bah. It's the bolt release. So you don't have to push that catch in again to release the locked-back bolt. The 10/22s are a PITA with that. I WANT the uninitiated to come here and say stoopid things like that. Once they do, I'll light the fire on the Roast Machine, have a few while it's warming up, and prep for the action that's coming down...

Military Firearms available again

Fall Shoot, not last year but the year before - I JUST built a gun, but was waiting on the LaRue trigger. Doc says, "Hey, I've got one, I'll bring it with me, and if yours doesn't make it in time, just slap that in there." WHOA! Alright, DOC!!! So, my trigger did NOT make it here in time for the shoot, so I installed "the spare" that Doc brought here. Long story short, that damn trigger arrived at my PO Box the day after everyone left out of town... So, then I'm building another one... Doc says, "Just stick that trigger you got for me, in this new gun, because we won't be there until the Fall anyway - planty of time to get another one..." So, I did. Last Fall Shoot, Doc couldn't make it - and the trigger that was waiting went into another gun... then another gun... So, FINALLY, I'm getting TWO triggers this time, when they ship this ultimate upper kit (one that comes with and an additional), and that thing is STAYING as Doc's trigger... -

I swear, for the fourth and final time, it's really on the way. My Ultimate Upper shenanigans is coming with two of them, this time... I kept ordering "Doc's Replacement," and I kept using them up... I'm not a good person, in regards to your trigger... -

Ah Fuk, he already looked down the barrel. I need to send you my barrel-cam, brother... -
That means you're coming down this year, brother?...

You're such a tease... -
TONS of 10/22 support and admiration for the platform here, brother. Here's what you need to modify on the stock bolt catch/release to make it an auto bolt release. So, you know the process - pull the charging handle back, and manipulate that bolt-catch side of it to hold it back. Then, to release it, you need to pull the charging handle back, play with that bolt catch again - the OTHER way - to drop the bolt on a new round. With this mod, you pull the charging handle - play with that bolt catch and get it to hold. Change mags, tap the charging handle - and it goes, automatically forward. No more manipulation of that bolt catch, the other way, while you have the charging handle back... It's the single best thing you can do to a 10/22, by far, and it's free - if you have a Dremel. Or a machine shop for carbs, like you do... The Power Custom Hammer and Sear Pack, for $65, give you a solid, nice 2.75 lb trigger pull.

6/11 was my lower, and I was gonna wait and take my time with this gun. I said Screw It, and ordered everything else on 6/17. 9/17 will be 3 months, and the CS Guy is getting a phonecall. I don't care if it's ready - but he should have an update for me by then?...
-
Excellent Pic Of The Day - I know this is crossing really hard into Politics, but it's just too beautiful to leave out of a Pic Of The Day... Mods/Admins, move if needed. I get it.

This might even be better than OBAMA. Weird. They were partners... Hmmm...

LR308 not stopping on bolt catch, beating up brass
98Z5V replied to Revelation's topic in General Discussion
That one on the left in your pics is gonna work better - whichever one that is. The "spike" that grabs the follower in the mag, and actually makes the mag catch work - is further away from the paddle handle, and the pivot point. You took some pics of how high the stick up - post some pics of each one of those, please identify which is which, and show where the spike portion that engages the follower is, actually on the follower. That one on the left in the pics above - it's gonna be more in the center of the follower, and the one on the right is gonna be more to the left side of the follower, if the pics are taken straight down on them. -
Best and worst states for gun owners where do you live?

Should be an MP5 variant of some kind, MP5-K, MP5-SD, MP5-Something. H&K made one hell of a worldwide reputation - and money - off those guns. -
The easy one is the Ruger trigger pack that they have for the gun - the Ruger BX Trigger. Runs MSRP at $90, straight from Ruger. That trigger is okay, but varies in pull weight (as stated by Ruger) of 2.5 ~ 3.0 lbs pull. It is an improvement over the stock trigger, by far. The other is Power Custom, and their Grand Master parts. Their hammer and sear pack drops the pull weight to 2.75lbs, and it's $65. It's a great upgrade. They have a TON of 10/22 parts. Their Grand Master Action Kit retails at $200, and it's got some serious shiit in it - every improvement that you'd ever need to make to a 10/22 (minus the auto bolt release and a Yellow Jacket buffer). Hammer and sear pack: http://powercustom.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4&products_id=82 Grand Master Action Kit: http://powercustom.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=81 You can make your own auto bolt release in about 5 minutes, with a dremel. No need to spend money on one from someone offering them.

That would be a normal price for it, now. Not, "just because of these times" either. Real H&K 91s and 33s, semi-only, went through the roof starting in the late '80s, and it got even higher in the early '90s. In '86, I could have had a 33 for $600. By '89, that same gun was $1,100. -
Come on out, brother - and shoot some of his "warm loads" as he calls them. THEN, you'll know... You'll feel it in your wrist, afterwards, for days. When you shoot these things, and you're standing in front of a 10x10 canopy - and the brass CLEARS the canopy, and you find it all 30 feet back - you'll see what's up with the "warm loads..."

Ol' Doug Ducey down here in AZ is in the same boat, over this COVID shiit. Now, he thinks he's a King, because he went to the White House last week to meet Pres. Trump, about how well AZ is doing with the COVID... 40 days of summer heat at or over 110* is what's killing the COVID - not anything that any of these bullshiit "practices" that have been put into place are doing anything... He's killing businesses, making up bullshiit along the way, and handing down authority to city mayors for decisions that HE should be making - dodging the bullet. AZ is fed up with it. He won't get re-elected, here - he already pissed off too many business owners and Republicans. He can take his ass back to Coldstone Creamery, and sling ice cream again. That's all he did before he was elected Supreme Ruler Governor of AZ anyway. LORD DUCEY!!! -

I don't think he's gonna get in, brother. The negative ad space is crushing him, all over local TV and radio. I sure as hell ain't voting for that fake POS... -
Cliff, what trigger do you have in there? Still the stock trigger? If so, there are a couple options out there that are amazing, and don't cost a ton of money. Completely changes the whole gun, too.

Cali Loses, Standard Mag ban unconstitutional

Hopefully, they'll be arguing the Constitution, amongst themselves - which is what they should be doing anyway. -
correct spring and buffer for a DPMS Gen 2 recon

That will work wonderfully. -
I still won't shoot that featherweight-ass 300 WSM again. That gun weighed MAYBE 6lbs WITH the scope on it. Yeah, nope. Not again.
