  1. That's rifle-length gas system with a dwell time like that, on a 22" barrel. It's gonna be an 8.875" dwell on that. What's the gas block diameter - barrel thickness for the gas block?
  2. It could be - quickest way to find out is to swap that scope out with your buddy's scope. If it's still doing it after that - it's the gun, somehow. Something in there is messing with it. Post a pic of the gun, if you would please.

This will work right now for a Drop Chart. I'll verify the 850 next Sunday. This is pretty damn close. My input data is correct, but it was a little hotter out once I went after that 500/482. Keep clicking it -it gets bigger. I think it's 3 clicks, total, and you get the large, readable version. Pretty damned impressive for an 18" gun.

Supposed to be heading into monsoon season - even though it has barely rained here, like zilch. It's a little humid in the mornings, but as soon as the heat comes out, it's gone. By 0925 it was already 101* and 22% humidity.

I can pretty much say this chart is fairly accurate, after seeing my speeds today. 2,666.57 was my average of 7 shots, with a standard deviation of 7.7.

Only thing I had with me was the Grendel mags - I completely forgot to take a PMag with me. I'll hit it again next weekend, because this thing is going over to the 850. With the data I got today, I'll make up a chart tonight for it. I gotta hit that thing at 850 and confirm the chart. Only shot 50 rounds today - enough to load up some ladders and get busy. 2.6 mils at 482 yards - just blew me away, brother. That was nuts...

    98's 6mm ARC

Alright, I'm impressed. VERY impressed!!! DAMN, THIS THING SHOOTS!!! Put out paper at 100 and steel at 100 and 500. The 500 today turned out to be 482 yards, based on where we set the canopies up when we got there. Didn't concern me too much, though. Weather data: Got up this morning and packed the truck at 0630 - it was a pleasant 80*, which was surprising. Got out there about 0715 and started setup. It was about 0800 once we were ready to shoot. Installed the MagnetoSpeed on the barrel, and then gathered my weather data from the Kestrel. 95*, 44% humidity, dew point 66*,29.68 in/hg pressure, 1405 feet of elevation, density altitude 4360 feet. Dirt Bike Tommy was already out there when I got there... Didn't take long to get a new zero on the scope, on paper, and I went through the mag, gathering the speeds. 16 rounds. At 0925 it was 101*, first three shots out of the gun were 2660, 2666, 2664 fps. SD was 3.4. 4 more rounds were 2678, 2665, 2657, and 2676 fps. Across all 7 shots, SD was 7.7... !!! WOW!!! I pulled the MagnetoSpeed off, made sure the zero was good with it off, and moved over to the steel at 100. First shot, dead-ass center of the plate. I just laughed... So, I put 7 in the head, and gave him a smily face... Okay, I'm happy. Time to move it over to the 500 yard target - the 482... I consulted my 18" Grendel chart, and 500 is 3.4 mils of drop. I looked at Tommy, and said, "We're gonna try 2.5 mils, just to see what happens..." He laughed, and spotted for me through binos. Slight left-fo-right wind, maybe 4 or 5 mph. I held left edge, and HIT THAT BASTARD. First impact was inside the white square, lower left corner. I gave it one more click, to 2.6 mils, and sent two more. All are on the left edge of the white square, below: Shocking, to say the least. Didn't even have 40 rounds through it yet! I turned the rest of the mag over to Tommy, and let him play with it. This is a pretty unreal little cartridge, men. I'm not joking. I suspected it was gonna be good, but I didn't think it was gonna turn out THIS good! Hot DAMN!!!

I really hate to bring this up... but are you talking about THIS KAC rail for the M16A4?...

MagPul screw-wise - they might not have known that is was going on a BA SPR barrel, with a slim-ass Aero handguard - no way they're gonna know that. I don't blame MagPul - I blame my dumbass self for not seeing that one when it originally happened... Didn't even catch it. Caught it the second time, though... Fuckin' Dummy... I'll risk a standard P-Mag, try it out. They don't do well for Grendels, so I don't think they'll do well on the 6 ARC. I'll give it a shot, though. I'll try a 20 and a 30 and see what happens. I have 200 round of factory match ammo to burn down, so I can have 200 pieces of Hornady Match brass to reload...
  10. THIS right here is the Ultimatum. Smash a fucker right in the face, and it's over. Right here. Once a motherfucker get punched for REAL, their whole world changes. I'm not talking about "I'll give you a bloody lip" kinda shiit, either. Bar-Fight, Street-Fight Rules - I'm gonna run my hand right out the back of your skull when I punch you. That was Bruce Lee's mentality. I envision my fist going out the back of your head... That'll change a motherfuckers perspective, real quick. Second-thoughts happen a mere millisecond later. Yes, I've been knocked out like this. Done been did it. And, yes, I've sent it the other way, many occasions. My most infamous was a ROK SGM. Hey, he was drunk, I was drunk, and he was a pissed off Korean yelling at me- on a Friday night in the street. He never said who he was,... so I didn't give a fornicate. That was a MAJOR INTERNATIONAL RELATION.... I didn't know the difference, I just turned 20... Bottom line, that I was told - "Dont punch drunk Korean men, you never know who they really are..." Roger, Sir, got it. As I signed my Article 15 for it... ^^^ That was in 1988, in Korea. That was a few months before the 1988 Olympics, in Seoul, South Korea. I was directly involved in a MAJOR MAJOR INTERNATIONAL INCIDENT during the Olympics. It was epic - I skated, along with two other guys that skated - My Platoon Seargeant took the fall for the four of us that were in that truck that night. That's a CampFire Story, above all else... not to be told publicly. Show up for a Shoot out here, and you'll hear it. @Matt.Cross, remind me about this one for the Fall Shoot this year...
  11. There was talk about Larry's height, here on the board, just because... WAY BACK WHEN... He's no midget, that's for damn certain... The whole "Lurch" pic and all... So, talk comes up about Larry being in New Mexico, and the shoots happening out here in AZ, and his youngest son is leaving for the Marine Corps. Larry drop a line about his daughter living south of phx... so we set up a shoot - just for his son leaving for Marine Boot Camp... and we all get together... Well... I had to be a smartass... Upon meeting Larry, first-time face-to-face, the only smartass thing I could think of to say was - gripping handshake - "Hey may, You're WAY SMALLER than the stories I've heard..." Yeah, THAT went over well...
  12. What alot of people don't know here, is that is probably a FIVE FOOT FISH... perspective is all fucked up, because they just don't know that you're EIGHT FEET TALL...
  13. Stick around - maybe it will pop up. Just never seen it before.
  14. I could watch that looping video all night long, brother...
  15. Pushed the Gun Pusher - he's getting them made. I'm buying from him. It'll still be cheaper, in the long run.
  16. You did take a GIANT piss in their Wheaties with that one, brother. It was Epic... Nothing but crushing hearts and minds...

    98's 6mm ARC

In the interest of Full Disclosure, I fucked my own .224 Valk up, and pretty bad, too. I never noticed this when I built it. I DAMN SURE noticed it when I swapped the 6 ARC barrel tonight, though. What i found probably trashed all my .224 Valk data- I'm positive it did, it was that bad... I built the .224 Valk and put a MagPul M-Lok rail section on the bottom of the handguard, so I could run a KAC vertical foregrip. My military love for those will never end. They'll live on every combat-type rifle I ever build. This piece right here, in red, the rail section: So, I ripped the Valk apart to get this gun going, and when I'm putting it back together with the 6 ARC barrel - I noticed that the screws for that MagPul M-Lok rail section contacted the barrel on the new 6 ARC barrel... Hmmm. THAT needs to change! I dremeled those bastards down short, so they would NOT contact the barrel, and I was successful. No contact and plenty of gap, so they'll NEVER touch the barrel. So, I dug out the .224 Valk barrel - now, bot these barrels are the Ballistic Advantage 18" SPR profile barrels - apples and apples, for @sketch. I grabbed up that .224 Valk barrel to look at it - sure enough - two screw marks on the bottom of the barrel, RIGHT where that pic rail was attached. I fucked my OWN self, not catching that before. ALL of my Valk accuracy data that I previously did is compromised. It's bullshiit. I'm lucky I even hit a target with that bastard in the first place, with those screws hitting the bottom of that swet-ass BA Mk12 barrel. ALL of my Valk data is shiit now. Guess it's time to start over with the Valk, eh?... Maybe it'll perform this time? I definitely think it'll do better now, knowing what I found, and figuring out a MAJOR building mistake... Eff that Valk though, that thing is on the backburner.
  18. You got gummed...

    98's 6mm ARC

.224 Valk gutted, rebarreled as a 6 ARC gun. This is tomorrow morning's shooting platform: Click it- it gets bigger... Setting up the MagnetoSpeed now...
  21. Never seen that marking before. Could be local-shop kind of stuff.
  22. I might need to up my order from 30 to 60, then...
  23. I'm shooting my 6 ARC this Sunday morning. Not trying to be a dick, but @DayWalker started this THE DAY after the cartridge announcement. I was already looking at it THE DAY OF the cartridge announcement. His words against me, had me in early. Within the first 2 days. After we set him up, though... Gotta be patient, men... Based on that, and my rise to the challenge, I got everything early - 2nd day, basically, after release. I got one thing that wasn't even available, and that was pure luck, and a phonecall, but it was the most important part. In a gun-hoard-proof mentality, I went about this from prior experience in a gun-hoard mentality - and grabbed the important shiit first. Lived it. Been through it. And it sucked. After Sunday morning - more like later in the day - I'l have my initial chrono numbers up on the Hornady Factory Match ammo, an initial zero on the scope, and a report of the performance of the Ballistic Advantage 18" SPR-profile 6 ARC barrel. That will be 100yard information. I'll get my initial dope at 500 yards that day, as well. There won't be any charts, pre-planned anything... But I'll know my drop at 500 before I come back that day - and then all the numbers can start working themselves out. I'm up to 500 projectiles sitting here now, for the Hornady 108gr ELD-X. Box here, box there, when I see them... 8lbs of Accurate 2520 inbound. Things keep drying up - but never quit. Get what you can, WHEN you can, brothers.
  24. ^^^ These are being produced. I'll let you guys know. My personal order is for 30 of them. For reasons, later announced.
  25. I don't think Mack is jealous of anything, in life. I'm just sayin'...
