  1. Well, then, those topics will be something that we discuss on an evening around the campfire. With the whiteboards.
  2. DAAAAAAYUUUM!!! That was the Marana Range, with @planeflyer21 as the "Private RSO" !!!
  3. I like your thought process - let's Run With Scissors!!!
  4. However, my great friend - you have the knowledge, and the practice of applications, to be able to train them up.
  5. Brace yourselves, men. I have the stockpile. Bring Ammo. Head to the SouthWest. Link up. On familiar terrain that is defensible.
  6. This is a porpoise... Has nothing to do with a firearm... I'm just sayin;... Clown this thread all you want. You'll get clowned back. Hard.
  7. It's SkyNet. Wait for it. Let it develop. Mark my words.
  8. I can tell you this much - a 5 twist will blow up lightweight bullets. They won't be able to handle it. Too much rotational speed for those fuqrs, with the speed they travel. This was made for heavies. And that's probably the reason it's short. Stabilize heavies from a short barrel. But - get one and shoot one of those 52s through it, and let us know what happens.
  9. This is comparing Apples to Hammers, man. And you know it. So am I - which is why I posted this in the first place. Beat me to it, get one, and test it out before I do. Otherwise, sit back, grab a beer and relax, and wait until I figure out why they did this. Or get one, and figure it out before I do.
  10. Well, wouldn't EVERY bullet be in the neck of the case, when seated? Kinda has to be. Even your precious 55gr FMJBT protrudes into the case body. Measure one of your 55s, and run the math, brother. It's real... Every single military tracer, every M855 green tip, all the Mk262 77gr issued ammo - the base of the projectile does extend into the case body. It's not a big giant deal, and is common on every cartridge ever loaded. I don't understand your phobia about it.
  11. Also, what are your specs in the recoil system? The gas system and the recoil system need to be balanced, for the reliability of the weapon. Receiver extension internal depth, buffer weight and length, coil count and relaxed length on the buffer spring. Mandatory information, for accurate information back to you, to make your rifle reliable.
  12. Now, wait a minute - are you talking about 5.56 here? The Hornady 88gr ELD-M is 1.240" long. The Sierra 90gr HPBT Matchking is 1.171" long. That just turns this into a math problem, if the case length is 1.760". and the loaded length for a mag needs to be 2.260"...
  13. If it's rifle gas, and has a 0.750" gas block journal size, the gas port needs to be 0.080". Need a few more things, besides just caliber and length. Also need gas system info, and gas block journal diameter...
  14. I HOPE SO, BROTHER!!! Governor Turd QUIT because he knew what the pressure was gonna do to him - and Good RIDDANCE, for ALL of you up there...
  15. We'll get this back on track somehow... Even if I have to pay someone to Chloroform you...
  16. Damn, we goo\tta work on your long-term memory... 12.5" 5.56 barrel, because somebody made it in 5-twist...
  17. A follow up, for today - more explanation.
  18. 18" Marlin 1895 GBL...
  19. Man, for 45/70, I'm rolling 405gr Oregon Trail laser-cast lead bullets over 50.0 grains of IMR 3031, and it's all I can hang on to...
  20. Man... I have 3 different 12.5" guns that will do 850 yards all day long. 6.5 Grendel, 6 ARC, and 22 ARC. I THINK that KAK is making this thing as a super-fast-twist in order to over-stabilize the 5.56 heavies in order to get more distance out of them. I don't know. I just found this barrel tonight. I'll call KAK in the morning about this thing, and find out what the deal is on it, why they made it. One way or another, I'll get one, and find out. Maybe it's made for 88s or 90s? We gonna know soon... 😁
  21. @blue109... So, first, brother... The Burn It Down gun ended up with a light on it. PID, you know. If you're gonna burn it down, then know your visibility range, right? So, I thought to myself - I better start looking for the NEXT barrel, because this thing isn't gonna last forever. Buy a backup NOW. Get on KAKs website, set my search criteria for their 12.5" barrels... Replacement is $119. Cool. But wait... What's THIS?!!? They have a stainless 416 barrel in a 1:5" twist?! WTF? What is THAT for? https://kakindustry.com/5-56-nato-12-5-ar15-barrel-stainless-416r-1-5/ Suffice to say - we're gonna find out...
  22. Nope - you never mentioned that in your first post, brother. Not in the least. Here's your first post in this thread:
  23. You need to finally say EXACTLY what you are building, this far into the thread. What are you building, Angel?
