  1. Come out for Spring - You can shoot my Woody, while you dream about your Large-Frame version of it...
  2. ONE MILLION DOLL-HAIRS... Thanks for finally saying this was a .308 AR, after talking about AR15 shiit for so long...
  3. Just so you know - LAR-8 upper receivers are LONGER than DPMS-Based LR-308 receivers, and Armalite AR-10 receivers. The BCGs are longer, the uppers are longer, and the charging handles are longer - AND, the detachable carry handles are longer. They won't fit DPMS and Armalite based 308s... Too long. FYI...
  4. Updated... Woody is in the house...
  5. I have one kinda like that - My National Match Woody. Hold on while I dig it out. Here she is...
  6. You need the Rock River Arms rear sight, and the only place it's in stock is Charlie's Custom Clones, right now. That's the quality base that you need to build from. https://charliescustomclones.com/rock-river-arms-a2-rear-sight-assembly/ THEN, you need to rip it all down, and add this kit, which you'll have to custom fit, in the elevation tower, the threaded tower - you'll have to cut it down to fit the flat-top dimensions. Shorten it. This is straight from RRA. You can get 1/2 by 1/2, or 1/4 by 1/4, in either 0.030" hooded rear, or 0.040" hooded rear. https://www.rockriverarms.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=1714
  7. You better get that credit card out right now, and rubbing it against your leg to warm it up. I'll list the parts you need coming up quick, like in a few minutes. This shiit was in stock last night, when I almost hit you with this...
  8. You can get into a very high quality rear sight for a pic rail, but it's gonna set you back about $250ish, and you'll have to modify one of the main parts, to make it fit a flat-top. This is true, quality National Match Iron Sight parts. Lemme know if you want the details. This would be an irons-only gun. 1/4 by 1/4 MOA adjustments on the rear, with a 0.040" peep sight hooded rear aperature. I run this on ONE iron sight gun that I have. EDIT - when you're running National Match irons on a flat top - they're the parts that go in the A2, and are adjustable to 8/3 on the wheel. 800 meters. On a flat top pic rail, you can't do that, and your max is 6/3 - 600 meters. Based in the original A2 design.
  9. ^^^ And, on top of that, on those Troy's, you've got that giant diamond rear sight diopter. At least on the all-steel MagPuls, you have a large and small diopter that you can switch to and from, when necessary. The MagPul offsets are the King of the offsets, by far. See below, you can see the flippable diopter in the rear sight:
  10. This is simply beautiful.
  11. Brother, they work GREAT!!!
  12. I've done a couple of them with offset red dots as a backup, too. LaRue mounts. I like the setup. Something to think about. I'll dig those 2 out and get a pic. If you went that route, make sure you get red dots with side-loading batteries... Here ya go:
  13. My go-to for 45 offsets are the MagPuls. They rock, big time. I have many, many set of those on scoped rifles. If you look, you can pull the set for around $160 - somebody always has them on a sale. If you get them, and don't like them - I'll buy them from you. Here ya go - these guys are legit, I've ordered from them before: https://gunmagwarehouse.com/magpul-mbus-pro-offset-flip-up-front-and-rear-sight-set.html $152...
  14. Pretty much as soon as I go down and give GunPusher the money...
  15. @Matt.Cross, know what this means?...

    Grilling

Lordy, brother! You could make a living doing that!
  17. Hey brother, if it runs, that's all that matters. The recoil system in this one I just got done with is just a standard AR15 receiver extension, 7.000" internal depth, Aero 9mm buffer - they have a new one out that's 8.1oz, and an Armalite EA1095 recoil spring. Either the EA1095 or the Sprinco Red spring would work identically, they're basically twins. I ran the EA1095 just because I had a spare in the parts box. Aero EPC upper and lower, Aero 9mm BCG, and the new BA 5.5" barrel with the improved feedcone on the barrel extension. That thing just goes...
  18. The real reason I'm asking you is because you're unfamiliar with 9mm ARs. I'm not looking for pics or descriptions, brother, I'm looking for numbers. After 3 9mms over 10 years, I've learned alot. Plus one .45 ACP. The last one I built, last month - that thing ran like a sewing machine, right out of the gate, and it's information that I wish I had 10 years ago, when I STRUGGLED making the first one run. What's the details on your recoil system? Again. Internal depth on the receiver extension, buffer LENGTH, buffer WEIGHT, what spring is in there, if you can identify what it exactly is... Neither of the buffers you posted above look like 9mm buffers. PCC buffers have a way larger front to them. And they're usually around 4" long. Here's an example, from KAK.
  19. Tell me about your recoil system in this thing. PCC ARs are all over the place on what ships, and what really, really works. You said "spacer" which tells me something is off...
  20. That's an ETS mag. Saw it in the pic that you posted, after you posted this. I have the 32rd and 40rd ETS mags, and they haven't let me down once. Run with confidence. If they fail you, it's not a mag problem, it's a gun problem. 9mm ARs are a motherfuqer to figure out.
  21. That's all we need...
  22. If you look at the Hornady projectiles in the 178 flavor, for .308, there's something peculiar going on. I ran 178 HPBTs for 5 years straight. Then they came out with the 178 ELD-M. Not much of an improvement, so I didn't switch. THEN, they released the 178 ELD-X projectile, that was better than both the predecessors. I switched right then, didn't look back, and have a better load overall now. Before you get too deep into that 178 ELD-M, move over to the 178 ELD-X and work that load up...
  23. For right now, I'd say no - but I can't count myself out of that game. I'd to the 8.6 Blk first, over that one. But, I also don't trust myself with impulsive buys and builds. ARC-wise, I'm pretty much fuqd, and have alot of mouths to feed. We can toss Grendel in there, too, because that started it all. There are 5 Grendels, 3x 6 ARCS, and 3x 22 ARCS. 12.5", 16" and 18" are all covered, in every flavor. We can lump the 18" .224 Valk in there, too, into the Intermediate Cartridge category - I need to revisit that one, and try to make it better than it did, better than it was hyped up. Tell you what - Intermediate Cartridges, and 12.5" barrels - that's some magic, right there. Last Sunday, the 12.5" 22 ARC ripped out 2380fps on Hornady Match 88gr ELD-M factory ammo, and it called for 4 mils at 500 yards - and 4 mils at 500 yards was right on the money... I need to run that one out to 850 and see what's up.
  24. Indeed, brother - and that's it's purpose. It's a Ripper, for certain. Lives up to the hype, by far.
  25. The rim on the 45-70 Government is 0.608". Nobody makes a bolt for something that would fit in a .308AR that would even survive that. I know I would never, ever try to fire my 405gr handloads for my Marlin 1895 lever gun, through an AR platform. No way.
