    98's 6mm ARC

Solid, sound logic, right there - well done throughout that thought process. That's exactly what I'd do, too. On that damn Valkyrie, I just built that thing with nice parts, and made it "SPR-ish" to make it a good foundation. I won't say I hate it, and I have uses for it, but it certainly wasn't the Grendel-Killer that the gun-media hyped it up to be. I'll keep it and won't sell it, and I'll shoot it and fuk some coyotes up with it. I'm glad I built it like I did, and didn't sink Mod 1 or () Mod 0 money into it. I'll have the lowdown on this 6 ARC before summer is over. It'll be a few months for me, too. Right now, the barrel (THE barrel) is a done deal, if FedEx can actually pull this off, and I need to get that lower done TONIGHT. After that, it's easy street for this one. Who would have ever thought it's cheaper to have a LaRue rifle?... Fuckin' Mk12s ain't cheap...

If the Mod 0 has your heart - then that's where you need to go. You will LOVE IT, every single time you pull the trigger. If you compromise on the Mod 1, when it's not really what you wanted, you'll wish you'da done it different. That is EXACTLY why I built a Mod 0 first. Going with a Mod 1 after that was a cakewalk... I STILL have to finish my Grendel Mod H, with some proper parts. It sucks to still need to do that, but I need to. It's another few hundo that I need to put into that thing to make it right - because it's designed around a Gen III carbon forearm. It'll never be "right" without the other stuff.

By the way, just checked tracking on my 6 ARC barrel, and it's ben bumped to Friday, instead of Thursday. Thanks, FedEx.

THAT is where the sale is! If he commits to a Mod 0, I'll buy him that handguard that he needs right now. Like, RIGHT NOW. I'll store it for him until it's time. @DayWalker - think about it. Mod 0 or Mod 1. Hit the other thread for the details on the money output. I can't beat that 25% off, not daily. The only thing DVOR has right now is the Gen III Natural carbon fiber, at $265. https://www.dvor.com/precision-reflex-gen-iii-ar-15-m16-round-free-float-rifle-length-forearm.html If we're gonna paint this thing, then it just doesn't matter. Otherwise, you need to "like" that look of the carbon fiber. I'll buy this fucker right now, and hold it until you're ready.
  5. You would be creating an illegal SBR, if you even pinned that 12.5" upper to the lower that came on the 18" gun. Now way around it, you'd be an instant Felon, waiting to get caught. Once that happens, your gun and voting rights are gone. Forever. Bad idea. I even made a comment once on one of the PSA online website ads, about their 12.5" barrel - asked them why they don't have the "NFA Laws Disclaimer" and offer NO notice that the barrel cannot be used in a rifle build, unless it's an SBR. Know what? all the PSA Fan-Bois went nuts and called me a complete idiot... Who's laughing now, PSA? Think you might want to include that information in your online website ads?... I TOLD you it would happen...
  6. Well... that explains it! It's gotta be Michael Mallinen.
  7. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Just wait for it. Shiit ain't no joke - check this out... Don't fuk with beavers, people. I stand behind this statement, with deep personal conviction.
  8. VLTOR is a Tucson, Arizona company, with .gov contracts on alot of stuff, and you're in North Idaho - how does that guy work into the VLTOR equation?
  9. Lucid is gone, as a company, and Dan Konrad was the man behind that design - and he's out, too. That was the best wood out there, by far. It's amazing. I - knowing now, in this future - wish I would have bought 50 sets of it. I'd be rich now, retired, and have land and structures, based on what people were willing to pay for that stuff, these days.

Just DO IT, brother. There isn't an 18" AR on the planet that is as Sexy as a Mk12. Nor as efficient. If the Mk12 is what you're after, then just don't be disappointed about something else. Just ask @Matt.Cross - you've already been given an invite into his downward freefall (with thrust rockets attached) into his 6.5 Grendel Mk12 Mod 1 progression. Don't let yourself down. Mk12 this fucker.

This little hooker arrives next week, so I need to get on that LaRue 5.56 Lower order pretty quick - that's gonna be the long-wait piece in this puzzle, I think. This is the Grendel barrel pic, but you get the idea - it's just like the Grendel, 5.56 and .224 Valk barrels. This is next. GAWD DAYUM, THIS THING IS SEXY!!! And, I'm gonna FDE Cerakote the FUK out of this thing.
  13. I've created bolt over-rides, to teach clearing them. We can do that. Easy.
  14. Good point - you get into a Bolt Over-Ride - the WORST of all true Double-Feeds - and you can't clear it, OR get the gun apart...

I'm seeing the CMMG barrels there, but nothing else right now. It's some slim pickins right now - haven't seen an interest in a new cartridge like this in a long time. It's crazy. The supply and demand for ALL GUNS right now is pretty crazy... Got my tracking number on my barrel today. Arrives 18 June by end of day, unless FedEx makes it happen sooner. It's in their hands now.
  16. NOW you're complicating it... I like your style...
  17. This shiit is getting complicated. Fast.
  18. We'll see how that goes. They'll tell you they test-fired your upper and found zero issues, and send it back.
  19. That shiit is daily in my house now, with the two new fuktards. They always fight - until TactiCat steps in and rolls some asses down the steps. 9 months old now, and they're big as hell. They're already more than "full-size." It's anarchy.
  20. ^^^ On that note, these are on sale on right now - $15 https://www.primaryarms.com/guntec-anti-rotation-trigger-hammer-pin-set-gt-arp
  21. Wow!!! Serious?! For HIM to leave CA, that's a huge step! Never would have thought that it was even a consideration, for him. He is completely set, with everything, right where he is, and that is one gorgeous chunk of terrain he has.

That's exactly what I'm doing - LaRue 6.5G Ultimate Upper kit, 18" barrel. It's $792, and I can pick "unassembled" when I order, so I don't have to take it apart when it gets here... It's in my cart right now. LaRue now sells their 5.56 lowers to anyone, for $199. The .308 lowers are $299. So, for $991 (5.56 lower), I could have a complete LaRue 18" 6.5 Grendel rifle - and swap out the barrel. That's a no-brainer for a badass gun. I'll either donate/auction that barrel here, when the time comes, or I'll put that barrel in my 18" 6.5 "Light(er) Hunter", and donate the Faxon barrel that's currently in that gun. Win for me, win for everyone.
  23. Woodies are amazing! I remember taking SO MUCH SHIIT on Arfcom, when I built that. ALL the Mall Ninjas said I was a dumbass, and it sucked, yada yada yada. I didn't care. I was beating up that 450 (really 475) out on the Sierra Vista Shooting Range, with iron sights. I'd start 100, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450 (the 475)... Smack smack smack, over and over. Other guys out there were asking what they hell I was doing... "I'm just having FUN!..."
  24. GAWD DAMN! i FOUND IT! It's a complete built National Match Rifle - minus one part. Those wood handguard grips will not fit a National Match Freefloat Tube. @mrraley sold me that Armalite NM Freefloat tube and gas tube many years ago, and I bought it just for this rifle - but I'm too chicken to trust anyone to mill those Walnut handguards out to fit it. Everything else on that gun is all National Match parts, down to the skinny 0.040" KNS Precision front sight post, and the RRA NM carry handle, 1/4 x 1/4 MOA adjustments and 0.040" changeable peep. Young NM BCG, Geissele SSA-E trigger, a BAD-ASS just because, and a rare (don't think they make them anymore) Rainier Arms UltraMatch Billet upper receiver. This thing can Slay Dragons at 500 yards with Iron Sights. It's an absolute joy to shoot... There's a build thread on it somewhere here, but with all the "Woody" talk over the years, it hard for me to even find it. Pics with flash and without flash, so you can really see that wood.
