Every one of these might be different, because "the gas port drilling guy fucked up, and we fired him..." That's why we have $450+ barrels for $50 each... It's best to measure every one that you get, for your intended use. Mic it out, see what you need for a gas tube.

For future reference, to anyone that stumbles on this - EuroOptic is SOLID. Very much so.

You can say that all you want, Doc, and I want you to believe it. I want you comfortable in that decision. There's something else that I want you to know, though - I hooked Matt early, and it was a DEEP plan, kinda like that "deep shock" shiit in the movie "Deception." Matt was hard work... You were #2, my friend. Once I hooked Matt, you were done. It just took both of us shooting Grendels to land you. Once I had Matt, you were next. In the Grand Scheme of this, Matt was a victim from the get-go - but you weren't hard once I had him... Matt is the Green Dude below, but you kicked and screamed a little - you were the Blue Dude...

The only thing better than Matt's Grendel was RON!... For "some reason" or another, Ron decided to get into night vision... Matt and I set that up perfectly... We worked the topic pretty hard, then Ron says he needs night vision... I only went Full-On-Grendel on Matt, so he remembers who the Master is...

Plan ahead, brother. We live at the tank, prioritize high-ground perimeter security first, build the filtration system next, and move early warning to the High Ground location, rotating shifts on that duty. We'll be fine there.
-
It was an ambush, brother. Plain and simple. I planned that one a year and a half out. I had to WORK for that one, no matter what he says. I labeled him "Victim #1" as soon as I shot that first Grendel round...
-
Come hang out with me, brother. I'll be perfectly fine off-grid.

Pretty much just what I said it would be.

That's right, right there. He talked HIMSELF into that sweetass Grendel Mod 1 gun, all by himself... All I had to do was get him to shoot my 5.56 Mk12 Mod 0, then shoot the 5.56 Mk12 Mod 1. After that, I fed him the 18" Grendel at 850 yards, had him monitor the (lack of) drop at distance compared to alot of guns/calibers. THEN, I had him shoot the 12.5" Grendel at 850 yards - with just a tad bit more drop than that 18" version - he was hooked... This is all propaganda, against me, like they're making me out to be a Bad Guy. I'm just a "Practical Guy..."... There's always two sides to every story - and they're feeding it to you like they've been victimized... It's almost like Adam Schiff, just feeding out the bad information, to make Trump look bad... We won't see the good info until we force them to step it up a notch, and open these hearings...

Pretty good news. https://www.foxnews.com/us/florida-pregnant-woman-ar-15-burglary A Florida woman who was eight-months pregnant and came out wielding an AR-15 rifle reportedly saved her husband and pre-teen daughter last week from a pair of violent intruders who'd broken into the family's home — with the gun-toting matriarch fatally striking one of the men, who was later found dead in a nearby ditch. Jeremy King was at his home in Lithia, 25 miles southeast of Tampa, at 9 p.m. Wednesday night when two armed men, wearing masks and hoods, broke inside. "As soon as they had got the back door opened, they had a pistol on me and was grabbing my 11-year-old daughter,” King told Bay News 9. “I’m telling them, ‘I have nothing for you,' and they’re like, ‘Give me everything you got.’ It became real violent, real fast.” King said one of the burglars pistol-whipped him and another kicked him in the head, creating a commotion that attracted the attention of his wife, who walked into the room to see what the noise was — and soon found herself dodging a bullet. The woman, who was not identified, reportedly retreated and grabbed an AR-15 that was legally inside their house, returning to the room and shooting the intruders, hitting one of them. “When he came toward the back door in her line of sight, she clipped him,” King said of his wife. “He made it from my back door to roughly 200 feet out in the front ditch before the AR did its thing.” The man was later found dead in the ditch, according to the news outlet. The other burglar fled when his friend was shot. “Them guys came in with two normal pistols and my AR stopped it. [My wife] evened the playing field and kept them from killing me," King said, noting he suffered a fractured eye socket, a fractured sinus cavity and a concussion, and needed "20 stitches and three staples in my head." Neither of the intruders was publicly identified by authorities. Anyone with information on the incident or the burglar's whereabouts is urged to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 813-247-8200.

Once you guys get into this - you'll start fucking with me during the Long Range and High Angle classes at the shoots... "But, but, but...!!!" I'll hear all about it. "But, HE said!...." Then, we go out and DO IT. That's when that momentary burst of Rational Clarity slams you in the side of your head, and everything starts to make sense... When YOU are on the gun, and doing it, for real. Not by watching a video... How long have I been pimping scope levels? I have one on every one of my "serious distance guns." Not so much on a battle-rifle, or truck gun, but they're on ALL of my guns that I consider "distance guns." That's 1k+ for mine. Here's why:

Next up is this - every single video that Ryan Cleckner ever made while he was working with the NSSF. Watch them all, learn from them all, absorb it all. It's GOLD. That's a free education - but it's just an education, and it gives you zero experience. You need to go apply that. Watch something - go do something... Here's a link to them all: https://www.nssf.org/tag/ryan-cleckner/

Here's the best place for anyone that wants to get into long range shooting - to get into. My here - it's SO COOL to watch a bunch of videos on YT, and learn what they say!!! But... you have to go out there and DO IT. Book Knowledge versus Practical Experience. You can learn all you want, and learn more, and learn more... and if you don't go DO IT... You're a bookworm, that talks all the proper terms, talks all the shiit when people report their results downrange - you're THAT GUY giving the critique of someone out there that's really DOING IT... and you're an armchair quarterback. This is easy to pick out, in the critiques, if you've done it before. So, forewarning, right now... If you're a video warrior, a YT Ninja, and you learn everything there is online - and you've never shot 800-ish yards or more... it's gonna be readily apparent here. We have a bunch of guys here that have done it, lived it, and load their own ammo just to get more of it... On that note, for long range shooting, most people need to start right here, with Rex Reviews. Sniper 101. There are 101 videos in this series. This series will give you a complete understanding on everything that you need to know to make long range shots. What this WON'T give you is the experience. Just the info, and knowledge... Go Practice..... Ammo ain't cheap, and building up a skill like this takes YEARS WORTH of money, just in ammo... Start with #1: Remember - there are 101 videos in that series.

Eh, I lived amongst the giants for 12 years. 120-foot Nisqually Pines. I'd take a chainsaw to them whenever I ran a drop zone, and one of my parachutists couldn't fly his fuckin' 'chute tothe large clear area called the "drop zone." I always got my parachutes back... There was never, ever gonna be a Statement Of Charges on me, for losing a 'chute on a jump - they all came home, some maybe the next day, once I went back out there with the chainsaw, climbing spikes, and two straps...

The buffer in that kit is already 5.4oz. Call Armalite in the phone, and see if they have the parts in stock - ask for the kit. Many times, they have all the parts there, but they haven't been assembled into one box yet, as that "kit." A call on the phone many times gets you what you need - even if it's listed as Out Of Stock at the time. 800-336-0184

OP, watch this guy right here ^^^ - he's shady...

Shoulda built a .260 Remington AR. That's what I wanted to say, when I read your first sentence. Way better ballistics on the .260 Rem than any .308 Win round, lighter recoiling, and when it was SAAMI-approved by Remington in 1997, Remington touted it as the gun to get for "recoil sensitive" shooters. The .260 Rem is a hoot in the AR platform.
-
That lightweight, high-dollar race-BCG would make this matter even worse... The AR-10 Carbine Recoil System that JT linked is what you need. The real part, the real pieces in the kit. That kit is WAY cheaper than piecing this together yourself, but if you have to piece it together, I can give you a big list of all compatible, reputable parts that will work just like that kit does. Inside that $65 kit, you're getting a $40 buffer, a $45 dollar (minimum) receiver extension, plus the proper recoil spring, a castle nut and endplate. That kit is a steal.
-
Welcome - start a tech thread in the build section, and describe the recoil system that you are currently running in that gun. Also, think about that last statement. You built a specific rifle to suppress and hunt. No recoil system is too expensive for that, if it works... A5 recoil system (as in VLTOR A5) complete, will not work at all in a .308 AR. The A5 buffer is too long for carbine, too short for rifle, recoil systems. The A5 buffer is for AR15-based guns, with the right parts.
