  1. You're purely speaking hypothetical, with zero practical to back that up. My guns aren't damaging the ELD-M tips when they chamber rounds. I can tell you this - My .260 Rem AR only gets fed Hornady 147gr ELD-Ms. Only. My Grendels only get fed Hornady 123gr ELD-Ms. Only. They don't have any issues whatsoever with "groups opening up" at 850 yards. No issues. I'll get a good 1k set up and bring the targets.
  2. That's an Armalite AR-10 Carbine gas tube, so good on any .308AR "midlength" barrel that's not really drilled at midlength... ^^^ That really did happen...
  3. NOW I got it...
  4. I missed that part - but good deal! It sucks to have to fix these things like this, but it's still a test to verify proper operation. That's proof-positive that the extension wasn't right.

Can't cook until it's late. Unbearable. 1/2 goes in the fridge, 1/2 gets vacuum sealed and goes in the freezer.

This was the haul from the grill last night. 2 thick cut pork chops, scallops and shrimp on the grill... Stored in the fridge for the week now.
  7. Get the MagPul Glock mags. Outside of a couple factory Glock mags for my 19X, the only other Glock mags I have are MagPuls. Check that buffer length - if it looks just like that PSA carbine buffer, it's not the pistol PCC-specific buffer that New Frontier was talking about in their kit - which means the previous owner just slapped all this stuff together on a stripped New Frontier lower. And used whatever. The PCC-specific buffer will be 4 1/8" long, and should be close to 8oz.
  8. You can set the ejector height on those New Frontier lowers, brother - that's right in the FAQ on the complete-lower link I made above. That's gotta be checked first, and dump that spring.
  9. In this pic series, it clear that there's zero crimp on any of those, and you fed the ammo the way I suspected. Zero crimp on a semi is a pretty big issue, as you've just seen. Two important take-aways from this: Hot loads, if you keep going hotter and hotter - you're gonna end up puncturing primers. And, you have to crimp your loads if they're gonna be used in a semi-auto firearm. You have to crimp them pretty damn good in a lever gun, too, and the reason should be obvious. I'm just sayin'...
  10. Those Hornady 147 ELDs are all I use in the .260 Rem. Nothing else. Those are handloads, yes? Factory ammo won't have brass that color. You have a crimp issue, right off the bat, if your COAL is longer during extraction, than what you set them at when you loaded them. You definitely need more crimp. Second would be a chamber issue, if it's hanging up that ogive, enough to pull the projectile further from the case than what you set it at (that's aside from the crimp issue). Judging from the lack of a circular ring around the ogive, what's setting them longer is chambering them from a magazine, BCG locked to the rear, and using the bolt release to chamber the round. That would be almost an identical effect as using them in an inertia bullet puller... Because of the need for more crimp...
  11. New Frontier does some decent stuff, so its a good quality lower. I'd bet the previous owner just bought all the parts from them, so looking at this product page will help you in identifying parts, especially that recoil system. That's gonna be the #1 issue with cycling on these PCCs. https://www.newfrontierarmory.com/product-category/ar-45-10-platform/ This might be what the guy started with, right here: https://www.newfrontierarmory.com/shop/complete-c-45-pistol-lower-shockwave-pistol-brace/ That kit description already states that it's got an 8oz buffer, which is good - just make sure it's 4 1/8" in length. Receiver extension internal depth needs to be 7.000". The spring is probably what's giving you the issues, but you know where to go on that one already.
  12. Member-implosion, if you're talking about that cooled monster.
  13. The MagPul wrench will clear 1.370", and it's a beast.
  14. It's only a 12.5" barrel, and the gas system is right between midlength and carbine length -there's not alot of dwell time there. I'd have to go back to my 13.5" numbers and look at it, because it'll have near identical dwell time. Here it is:

Gettin' ready to throw down on the grill for the week. At 9pm almost... I cook on weekends, store it up, and eat it through the week. I don't have time for that shiit during the week...
  16. Nah, I just want gun to run like they're supposed to, right from the factory. I just picked up on something in that pic, that will make sense. The two legs are forward on that tripod. You won't be able to "lean into it" without tipping it over. Leaning into it, loading it, will push it onto those two front legs, and push it off that back leg. Turn the tripod. One leg always has to be forward. Always. That's the deal on the M2 .50 Cal and the Mk19 grenade machine gun - same tripod. When you're shooting from a tripod on one of those big fuckers, you're between tripod legs - with a tripod leg facing forwards. Turn that tripod, get a leg forward, and you can load it. Much more gooder, in SE Ohio Speak...
  17. I love that one...
  18. Tacky Bitch rocks.
  19. That's different, depending on what you're doing... If you're hunting, treat it as benchrest shooting with bags, lead-sled, whatever - you want to eliminate as much contact with the gun as you can, except having it IN your shoulder, for that single accurate shot... unless it kicks like a fucker. In that case, if it does, forward pressure will load it, and get your body tight to the gun, and the forward pressure will eat some of that sick recoil... Bipod... This pic right here: Dig the toes of that left foot in, once you're set, and use them to push your whole body forward, which will "load" the bipod. Put forward pressure on your whole, set, body position with that left foot, push that bipod forward, and lock the gun/body position in more solid. Everything helps for distance. Here's the toe-dig I'm talking about - my primary toe-dig is left foot, support side. To a limited degree, I'm digging with my right foot, too, but still keeping that leg out there to minimize breathing input... Make sense?... Using what I can to put more forward pressure on the bipod...
  20. When you load that bipod, it's a whole different world, as far as stability goes. Dig those toes and load it...
  21. Damn near PERFECT Prone body position, Peach! Well done! As a right-handed shooter, the left side of your body is the "support side" for the shot. Getting that left side in complete contact with the ground, damn near head to toe, is the goal - and you did it well. Working a bipod is different from no-bipod, and only working a sling for tension (they go over slings with you in your Appleseed? - we recommended them in the ones I taught, and showed their effectiveness). Only thing I can say about this - perfect left-side body contact with the ground - maximize your body support, right leg out there to raise your body up on that side, which puts more pressure onto the contact side (left side) and which gets the solar plexus off the ground, and minimizes what your breathing does to/through the scope. Less movement in the sights, through your body, when you breathe... Since you're running a bipod - load that thing. Once you get your Natural Point Of Aim set, you can load that bipod and minimize breathing more - by digging that left foot/toes into the ground, and pushing your whole body foreward - that's what "loads" the bipod. Here's what I'm talking about: In that pic, I'm even digging in a little with my right foot, even though I've got that leg out a little. Not my normal prone position (leg lock), but I needed more bipod loading on that gun... You crushed it. Well done.

Shiit, homey... 90 is what I have to set my AC to, because I can't afford it lower than that.
  23. We don't delete them - just lock them. Searchable in the future, and always here. Historical perspective on what certain products go for, and always relevant information in the future.
  24. ^^^ I concur completely, all the way.
  25. That's just a .308 Win case necked down to .270 cal. A .270 Winchester is a 30-06 necked down to .270, and it's a wonderful performer. Why would you neck down a .308 Win case (7.62x51) to a .270, when the .264 is a superior aerodynamic projectile?... By the way, the .264x51 would be... .260 Remington.
