    Nice morning

Damn, Slayer! That's a nice haul right there!...
  2. I'll share some weird chronograph data I gained on my 6.5 Grendel loads tomorrow... 1.0gr of difference between the loads was a shocker, between two barrels that were 2" in difference...
  3. I remember telling you early on, that taking on this challenge with a .300BLK was gonna be a tough task, just due to the vast differences in projectile selection and muzzle velocities... You have to balance projectile weight (over a far greater projectile weight-range than any other caliber has), versus the muzzle velocity differences (that no other caliber has seen, to date), on this one. It's the ultimate challenge of "Speed and Accuracy" here, with what you're trying to do...
  4. We start here, so save this. This is only assuming that we have to go "this deep" on explaining the benefits of the .22WMR, way later down the road... https://www.buckmasters.com/Magazines/GunHunter/Articles/ID/2125/The-Overlooked-22-WMR
  5. ^^^ I used something very similar to that- with different facts on different projectile capabilites - to get @Matt.Cross into a BADASS Mk12 Mod 1 6.5 Grendel gun. It took me a year, but... I kid you not... It's all about "persistence", Red. You can beat this, easily -we just need to approach it with the right information, and right angles...
  6. We start innocently. VERY innocently. First, we look up the cost of the most expensive 6.5 Creedmoor precision ammo that we can find. You know, the 6.5C you're building is for the ultimate precision, right? I bet we can find some stuff that's about $4 a round, if we hunt hard enough. After that, we start looking at "trainer rifles" and comparing some of the cost of those trainer rifles that are abnormally high in cost... but, STILL cheaper than that $4 a round that we're looking for on that Creedmoor. After that, we start comparing costsof "Trainer Rifle Training Ammunition..." Key words there, man. Fact: for comparing similar wind drift -Shooting .308 Win at 600 yards will have very similar wind drift as Shooting .22LR at 200 yards. So, we work the .22LR into the game here... THEN, we bust out .22WMR. We've already broken out the 200-600 comparo with .22LR, BUT... we break out the minimal cost difference between .22LR and .22WMR, and explain the vast difference in distance-trajectory in the benefit of the .22WMR round. (we will need data charts to show the differences at distance between the two ".22s"...). THAT IS THE POINT RIGHT THERE...that you bust out the cost of the Ruger American .22WMR bolt gun. At that point, my good man, once you've confused her with so many dollar signs all over the place, she goes for the MSRP of that Ruger American .22WMR, and she'll THANK YOU for being practical, and saving money. Hold my beer and watch THIS shiit happen...
  7. Don't worry, we can work in this and polish it up...
  8. That bipod, brother. But watch it - after you use that bipod, you NEED more of them. I'm not kidding on that...
  9. DIP makes some great stuff for the smaller-caliber guns. I love those guys. Everyone needs that gateway drug, to turn them to the "next sickness" - you start to dabble in long range, and it'll fuk you up for life, brother...

@DNP is a Cookin' NINJA with tri tip. Gethim in here for some tips on it. It's unreal...
  11. ^^^ I'm with Merle on that. Once I went red dot, irons were backups.
  12. ^^^ That made me LOL!!!...
  13. Seems this is pretty legit - I got my tracking number today. It ends tomorrow, the 16th, for anyone interested. I get emails from Olight now, but I don't mind them. I'll probably own more lights from them coming up, based on the serious discounts on other stuff that they've been emailing me.
  14. That's completely "not uncommon," Cliff. That's why it sucks so much when they go.
  15. Looks like I got lucky - the 19X sights are coming to me after all, at the end of the week... Thanks, LR-308!
  16. You'll be more tired walking up the hill this fall, brother. We figured that out, and that's why we're doing it right away - for you, literally. Day 1 out there is High Angle. We thought about you and Susan, Larry driving back, Ron driving ALL THE WAY back... It's nobody's fault that Ron is turning into a pus$y and flying out from now on...
  17. Badass vid from Falkor Defense...

I have that shiit down to a science, brother...
  19. Mine are working fine, on my 19X, daylight, low-light, all of it. Doesn't get any more daylight-bright than some AZ sun in the desert, and they work. I was gonna snatch them up, but realized that I read this thread way too late... I screwed up...
  20. Damn, I knew those 19X sights weren't gonna last. Lesson 65b got me on those...

    DAMN!!!
  22. Should be okay...
  23. Sad to hear, Cliff - it's never easy.
  24. ^^^ That stainless one is good, besides the name of the manufacturer... Even the phosphated one is good - if you seriously shortcut the break in process on it. They work, brother - you'll like it, and you'll be able to "accept" the ammo bill to run it, just a little better... After shooting for a day, take that BCG out and toss in the regular BCG, and punch about half a dozen fullpower 5.56 rounds downrange - if the .22LRs were in the process of leading up the gas port in the barrel, those 5.56 rounds will blow that stuff right out of there.
  25. Love mine - shoot better and softer than the almost-identical-twin in .308 Win. Great cartridge. Here's the build thread on mine: There's another guy here, hasn't been on in a long time. He built an 8" barreled .338 Fed SBR, and put up a ton of great data.
