  1. That's a great looking profile!... Tell that guy... I saw in the news today that a total of 530 guns have been turned in so far. Keep up the fight, brother.
  2. Run it - you're okay. Get the right buffer weight in there (AR15 H3 buffer, from anywhere), and a good spring (Armalite EA1095), and watch for contact on your lower receiver. I'll find a pic of what I'm talking about, for the "contact on the lower."

Don't be jealous that he outshoots everyone. Everyone.

    HEEEEEY FUCKER!!!
  6. It definitely needs to go in one more turn, and you'd have to notch that bottom "flare" on it deeper to do that. However, if your measurement was correct, and you had a true 7 5/8" from the front edge of the lower receiver to the bottom of that extension, then don't mess with it...
  7. Looks like they finally got the receiver extension right, at 7 5/8" internal depth. Lose the H buffer and that spring, replace with AR15 Carbine H3 buffer and Armalite EA1095 spring. Replace the too-short gas tube with the Armalite AR-10 Carbine gas tube. Since he already has an adjustable gas block on the way, measure the gas port diameter when the original gas block is off - I'm betting its 0.070" gas port diameter, which is too small for an 18" midlength-gas .308AR barrel with a 0.750" gas block diameter. Drill it to 0.080~0.085", then install the new adjustable gas block (the adjustable gas block won't be necessary at this point, but it's on the way, so might as well use it). Always test an adjustable gas block wide-open. Open the gas flow as far as it will go, and run the gun until it's broken in. Once it's fully broken in, then you can start playing with gas flow. My $0.02.
  8. That's a very dangerous article - and I'm sure that the WaPo planned it that way. Details on this "suppressor" that the guy had need to come out, and fast. No way he just got that .45, and no way he had time to buy a real suppressor in that timeframe - not with the lead times on NFA shiit right now. This situation is so completely fucked, it's not even funny. This is some scary shiit that the MSM will jump all over - and has already, by that bullshiit article. You can tell that was very finely thought about and crafted - for a specific purpose. WaPo knew exactly what they were doing with that article. We're fucked, men, if the details on that "suppressor" don't come out.
  9. Yep, it's gonna change the harmonics of that barrel, and exactly why you stated - stress relief. Stress relief is an important aspect of barrel manufacturing, and when it occurs in the machining process. You can't just cut a barrel down like that, and do nothing else. At a minimum, your zero will change. At the maximum, the accuracy of that barrel goes to shiit. I'd love to hear from @308kiwi on this, because I know he's a barrel-machining Ninja.
  10. I kinda knew that, too...
  11. ^^^ This is a very valid point. I hope the real details come out, and it was an illegal suppressor - so we can comment back at the bullshiit lies the politicians tell about this one, and about suppressors...
  12. DAMNIT!!! I was SERIOUSLY gonna ask you that, too!... Good score on the suppressor, brother!
  13. He's pretty good, isn't he? I noticed that, too, brother...
  14. You read that right. How to talk to your cat about Gun Safety. I've already discussed this extensively, and now there's a book out on it. It's serious business. That's why TactiCat is so well trained. He can outshoot most new girlfriends I get - he schools them. https://gatdaily.com/how-talk-your-cat/?trk_msg=2IV3UF6INR549883FLIS4JC8EG&trk_contact=8V0L65B89JG3CKL2PPP2IG35AC&trk_sid=02HF5Q5C6NPI21GGCPQLKC7V7K They even used a picture of him in the book - quite impressive: Order your copy today.
  15. I am responsible for my own security. We are responsible for our own security. It can't be any other way.
  16. Identical situation south of your border, brother. Identical. They don't want to solve anything - they just want to create "subjects."
  17. Need to do some deep research to see what it takes to mate an 80% lower to a LaRue upper. I'm just sayin'...
  18. Mini AOC rocks!...
  19. This isn't gonna go well. It's not often - it's hardly ever - that NFA Items are used in crimes. EDIT- found some data on it: http://www.azgunlaw.com/nfa-myths.html
  20. Right fuckin' ON, brother!!!
  21. Nordic Components is a very good company. They don't even list the NC-10 on their own website anymore, as far as I could see. Looks like they dropped it. You're looking for OLL stuff. That's gonna be tough, based on your legislators. They add everything that they can find to the list...
  22. That poor kid had to be just crushed...
  23. Avoid the DPMS GII if you can - it's cool, at almost-AR15 sized, but there's a shiit-ton of proprietary parts in there, and the aftermarket doesn't support that 100%. On the other hand - there's no way in the world that you'd be disappointed with that LaRue, and you wouldn't have to change a single thing on it. Welcome aboard...
  24. As I know way too well - that's alot of work in that pic above. Lots of steps, to get that many, that far. Just want you to know that what's seen, is appreciated...
