Ever sent trans gears out to get micro-polished? The purpose of that is to reduce gear-to-gear contact friction and make more power and lower operating temps. They come back looking chrome plated. Fucking amazing. Before, the contact surfaces "looked good," but when they come back, it's a completely different world. Issue: they were rough as hell before - you just can't see that small.

The acids in skin oils and sweat, yes. That is what causes rusty fingerprints.

Really now...

I wipe everything I have that's blued - with JB-80. It neutralizes any acids present. Blued firearm parts will never rust again.

9 years ago I compared an AR-10 charging handle to a (brand new-released) BCM charging handle - and some jackass sends an anonymous post not long ago, that I am an idiot... I don't get it...

Previously, yes, three different balance scales. I'm playing with a cheap digital one now, but I don't know if I like it. I need to invest in a good RCBS digital auto-scale.

I wish I had a scale that would do that. On precision loads, I set the powder drop light and trickle in to scale weight, until it's even, every time.

1. Is it a rifle recoil system or a carbine recoil system? 2. How long is the buffer? 3. What is the internal depth of the receiver extension? - stick a tape measure down there, and see how deep that extension is.

Nope, nope, nope. Get into the details on that recoil system, DPMS. Everything else is first-rate parts. That recoil system is what's causing the problems here. Sounds like it's an AR15 recoil system, complete, from the conditions listed.

Then tell him to respect what you come up with, even if it's "not what HE thinks is ideal." Shut him down with information. 24" bull barrel .308AR is gonna be ONE HEAVY PIG that you don't want to carry anywhere - including from the car to the shooting bench.
