  1. The 147s will still be accurate, brother. You'll start seeing the difference at 500 yards and out, though - more drop than your 168s, and more susceptible to wind deflection. The drop and dope you know for the 168s will be a little different on the 147s, starting 500. Might be a little different at 400. At 300 and in, it won't be off hardly at all.
  2. Your police area needs to hire me. I could fix that, and hook your comms up. Wouldn't do that job Pro Bono, like fixing PSAs boned up shiit that they send out to customers.
  3. You literally gotta stack 'em up, man. That's what they do great at...
  4. FUK Cheaper than dickbags, right in the neck.
  5. That's badass right there, Neil.
  6. Internal depth is what matters. Since they can't make a buffer that's supposed to be 5.200" long, and instead make it 5.250" long, I'd check that internal depth on that extension. It should come up to exactly 9 11/16" internal depth. Not "kinda close," or anything like that. This is officially the first time I've seen an aftermarket company fuk up a rifle recoil system for a.308AR.
  7. SO, those parts are not in-hand yet? Don't worry until is shows up, then check the buffer length and weight. IT should be 5.200" long to run in a .308AR rifle recoil system, and weight should be 5.4oz. If the thing is 5.900" long, it's for an AR15. It's probably a typo in the spec listed, on the part of the advertiser. Just check it once it arrives. Or, you got a free heavy buffer...
  8. Same here, on 6.5 Grendel. It runs well enough - no experience on the .308 barrels.
  9. BRCC is a never ending supply of these things...

    I'm going back.

I feel a bruise on my horizon... Just sayin'... Next week is gonna be a little nutty...
  13. From what I've been able to find, you are exactly right. And you fire this from a 5.56-based gun. I'm all over this... How the hell do we get a bolt strong enough, in a 5.56 gun, that will support a .308 case?!... At this point, I don't care, I just want to build one, and make a Super 300BLK out of the damn thing... 500 Blackout is coming, too. Just so you guys know. It's a reality. It's a done deal. I'm just sayin'...

    I'm going back.

I've already got a "5 Hour Energy" IV Drip ready for him, liter bag... 14ga catheter, so it gets in there and works FAST... I'll roll the bag, too, to force it in there...
  16. I'm in for that - is that how we get them available again? I'm down with it. Cut a .308 Win case DOWN, then neck it UP to .358", and it fires from a 5.56-based gun?!!? Fuk yeah, I'm in... This is a 300BLK on fucking steroids...

    I'm going back.

That will get done, for sure - in between ripping the house down... I've already been given the threat - "We're gonna eat so much and drink so much and party so much - that we're gonna wish out livers were made out of titanium..." I'm down.

ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!!! IT IS ON!!! ROB + TOM-ASS = ...
  19. Alright, fuk it. I've been holding out on you guys. I finished the gray compact, and it's a carry-gun now. I picked up a complete upper assembly from Rock Slide USA for $319. That's the slide, Cerakoted in tungsten, stainless barrel, all upper parts installed, Glock Gen 3 guide rod and spring, and factory Glock sights (plastic) installed. $319 price, $327 shipped. I couldn't pass that up - and that's their regular prices. I highly suggest that you guys check out Rock Slide USA. https://rockslideusa.com/ So, once I got it, I took it out and put 350 rounds straight through it - not even a hiccup from the gun, at all. From that, I decided it was reliable enough, but it needed night sights before I'd carry it. Off to the Gun Pusher I go... He had AmeriGlo tritium steel sights, green front and yellow rear, and he put them on there right then. Took it back out and put another 150 rounds through it - flawless. It's a carry-gun now.
  20. I had my eye on that Alpha Shooting Sports stuff for awhile now.
  21. I'll bet it gets bitchin' range with little power output - that's way up there, as far as radios go. It's approaching the freq range of early cellphones right there (NMT 450, first, and then NMT 900). Right after that, everything went GSM.
  22. IMHO, I think that gas port is too small - and that fits what is happening with the gun. I think my setup should be at that size, minimum, and I'll be drilling mine to 0.081" to start, soon, and going up from there if I have to. The gun is coming apart for Cerakote anyway. I honestly think - with that gas system of yours that's 2" less than what I'm running - needs to be in the 0.090"~0.100" range, with 0.090" being the minimum for your setup. As far as cartridges go, you and I are shooting virtual twins, here - there's so little difference between 6.5 Creed and .260 it's not even funny. We've got big differences in gas systems, though. I think my 0.070"-ish is too small, and you're two inches less on gas system length/dwell time, and only another 10-thou up - so you'd be under-gassed as well.
  23. In a Designated Marksman role from a fixed, static position, I could see these being very beneficial. I can see these things getting into a few overseas deployments.
  24. Ha ha ha... That's what you hope, brother...
