  1. Yep. I have one 19-rounder that needed the feed lips tweaked.
  2. Shiit. We need to get you in a DPMS-based gun now...
  3. The problem with these 3.8oz buffers (Aero doesn't make a bad one - it has two tungsten weights in their aluminum body), comes down to the springs. Carbine recoil systems will run on a .308AR (DPMS LR-308s prove that). All these manufacturers think that they're gonna make the next, greatest thing, and make everything in-house. They don't get the spring right. Buffer weight is 3.8oz, which is as heavy as they can make it without spending money on a stainless buffer body, and just using tungsten weights. The biggest issue that you'll see is what everyone calls "over-gassed." "My AR-10 is over-gassed! I need an adjustable gas block!!!..." First, you have to inform them that it's not an AR-10. AR-10s don't use that type of recoil system construction. AR-10 Carbine recoil systems work every time... The next battle with them is informing them that they do not "need" an adjustable gas block, because they are not "over-gassed." They are actually "under-recoiled." The recoil system is weak, and not up to the task of handling the .308 Winchester rounds (and just about anything else we can shoot in this frame type). The recoil system was designed to be run with a 5.4oz buffer as it's primary operating weight, inside a receiver extension that's 7 5/8" long. Any change to either of those dimensions requires a complete change in the three system components. Most common change is the receiver extension, and the use of the AR15 Carbine receiver extension with it's 7.000" internal depth. Next "victim of specs" is the buffer weight - it goes down. It has too, because it needs to be shortened to 2.500" long to work in a 7.000" extension. What's the final thing that manufacturers can't get right? The operating spring. Most .308AR OEM Carbine operating springs are junk. Once you understand the difference in what you have and what you need for a recoil system, it becomes more clear on what's really going on with your rifle - it's not over-gassed. It's under-recoiled. Adding the adjustable gas block puts the bandaid on the wrong cut...
  4. Going on that .260 Rem, too.
  5. Early C-Products?
  6. bubba, can you lock that mag into place with the bolt locked to the rear? LOCK it in there? If not, can you lock it into the lower, with the upper removed from the lower? Those answers are gonna tell you where the issues are.
  7. Fucking smartass...
  8. CZ, you have any other .308ARs right now? Comparing the parts would help - say, against a DPMS patterned gun. "No difference" could easily be just noted, but pics of differences, with measurements (if there are any) would be quite valuable here.
  9. That is SUCH an understatement!!!
  10. Right on, SS!!!
  11. @sketch, that's called Lesson 65B, brother. Right there.
  12. I still gotta get loot to you, brother, for the other two frames - this weekend. I'm still in for a bipod, as well, but I don't see these guys stating what they want. I'll do a M-Lok, if those aren't going to the other guys. If they're gone, I'll do the pic-rail bipod. I'll send you a bigger payment...
  13. There's a big piece of Natural Point Of Aim that missing from that entire video. The military definition of it is : Natural Point of Aim = Where the sights fall after recoil. They went over and over adjusting the body before the shot, loading a bipod, closing your eyes in the final shooting position, and opening - to see where the sights fall. If they're not right on target, you adjust body position. Great vid on everything leading up to the shot, and that's 75% of the whole NPOA process. The biggest part of NPOA was left out, and that's trigger control, and trigger follow through. NPOA = Where the sights fall after recoil. So, trigger follow through - you hold the trigger to the rear after you break the shot, you have the same tension on the grip as when you broke the shot, your body settles - where are the sights now? THAT is your NPOA for that shot. If you're off target, you adjust. That's the primary reason trigger follow through is so important - if you just jerk the shot and let up - and don't follow through - you will never be able to check your NPOA.
  14. No, but I damn sure need to...
  15. Bush 1 passed today, at 94.
  16. This might be the issue. Measure the internal depth of the receiver extension (tape measure will work, down the extension until it bottoms). Get that info back here, in this thread. That buffer is 2.500" long, and that receiver extension needs to be on the money at 7.000" internal depth. Not a little over, not a little under. That buffer weight is shiit. The spring probable sucks. Also, how many rounds downrange so far? Gas systems need to seal, and it takes a little carbon fouling to get that done. Hit the intro section.
  17. Standard (meant, not special, heavier) Rifle buffers all weigh 5.4oz. AR15 rifle buffers are 5.900" long. .308AR rifle buffers are 5.200" long. They both weigh 5.4oz. Tungsten gives the shorter Big AR buffers the same weight as the longer, smaller-caliber buffers. DO NOT BUY an AR15 rifle buffer. DO NOT. Your gun won't cycle.
  18. Hold on, hold on, hold on... Let's start saving money right here. You're running a rifle recoil system, so this won't be expensive, to get some standard parts... Rifle receiver extensions all have the internal depth of 9 11/16" - so you're there. Pick up any Armalite or DPMS compatible 308 rifle buffer {Armalite AR-10 Rifle Buffer, part # EA1090), and the Armalite EA1095 recoil spring. Done deal, solid recoil system. Aftermarket manufacturers generally don't screw the rifle recoil parts up - but don't trust aftermarket springs from unknown vendors right now. Here are both parts, directly from Armalite - that spring lists as out of stock, but that's not always the case. Call them on the phone... I'll bet your order gets shipped right out. $24 for both parts, combined. https://www.armalite.com/product/ea1090-ar10-replacement-buffer/ https://www.armalite.com/product/ea1095-ar10-operating-spring/ 6.5CM is rated to a higher pressure than .308 Winchester, but that doesn't mean all the ammo out there is running at a higher operating (chamber) pressure. That's due to the 30-degree shoulder on the 6.5CM over the 20-degree shoulder on the .308 Win round, primarily. I hope that info you got didn't come from other .308 shooters... Here's what most people think... You're doing good getting into this cartridge. Shoulda gone .260 Remington, though. IMHO.
  19. Wonder how he's doing, with winter set in up there. I'm sure he's used to it by now, though.
  20. Welcome aboard - that's a SOLID list of components, right there! Great selections.
  21. Great work, brother, with that graphic! I will re-post that one alot around here. I already blew it up and saved the larger one to the hard drive. That is the exact same dimensional difference between AR15 midlength gas tubes and Armalite AR-10 Carbine gas tubes, as well. Identical difference.
  22. Check out Omar Avila, listen to his story. This guy is awesome, his story is awe-inspiring, and this is worth the time.
  23. This is where you fucked up. You complicated shiit with complicated shiit, and it bit you in the ass. Use a standard recoil system, and use standard gas systems, and build a rifle that functions, first. After that, get all fancy with the complicated parts, so it suit your needs/wants/desires, as it suits your shooting style. Shiitcan all the fancy, complicated shiit, and start with a basic, functional rifle. Don't throw them away - they're already paid for - they're just not helping you right now, and only hindering you. You diagnose one thing at a time, one part at a time - not a box of complicated shiit that will only fuk you up in the long run. As it has here. I know that hurts, being your first post an all, but go post an intro and tell us about you. We're more inclined to helping people that want to be here, over the information whores that just post about the problem they have, then ghost everyone. My $0.02...
  24. Sometimes?... Really?...
