That thing is a beast, man - it rips up anything within 400 yards with that red dot on there. Little bit of higher hold out there, but easy to get used to. That's a kickass rifle.

As far as non-ARs go, this is by FAR my favorite .308 that's not an AR. Ruger GSR.

Okay, using their logic - if I buy one of these upper assemblies (since they say it's a "firearm"), how do I fire it?... If it's a "firearm" then I should be able to fire it (send a round) as soon as I pick it up (literally, in my hands), right? Nope, have to add an AR lower receiver and trigger group to the mix, in order to shoot it. Since the AR lower is serialized... what's the serial number of my rifle? Do I have to use BOTH serial numbers? This is fucking stupid, on their part. Purely ignorant.

They both shoot fantastically! One is a 16" .338 Federal barrel, "midlength" gas they say. It's Armalite AR-10 Carbine gas, in reality. Great shooting accuracy from it, even with fat Hornady 225gr SSTs going through it. The felt recoil is less than a similar 16" .308 AR. The other barrel is a 20" .260 Remington barrel, and I'm just under 100 rounds through it, all with load development. I've settled the loads now, and what I went with was sub-MOA for groups. There were several different loads that delivered sub-MOA through both these barrels. Gas port diameter was perfect on both, after sorting out the proper gas tube lengths.

^^^ Yep, right there. The Woody is the one gun that I have with National Match irons on it, and I've got a 0.040" front sight in it. The hooded rear is a 0.030" aperture. The clicks in the rear are 1/4 MOA - you'll need to check yours, probably by shooting it, and see if you've got 1/4 MOA or 1/2 MOA adjustments on yours. I have a Jard 2lb in a long-barrel 5.56 rig, and it's a good trigger. I've never tried one in a 700, though... BUT! I have a Timney 517 in a .308 bolt gun, 700 AAC-SD. The 517 is the flat trigger, right hand safety, and I had them set it up at 2.5lbs. That trigger ROCKS!

^^^ They're both right on the money. 5.56 NATO chamber has a longer leade, and you can load it to higher pressures (over .223 Rem ammo), with the longer leade. .223 Wylde chamber is a hybrid between .223 Rem and 5.56 NATO chambers. I'm running the RL-22 in 300 Win Mag and 338 Lapua Mag. I was surprised by it, too, in the .260.

I've already got that planned out - it's in the hillside, right behind the house pad. We tunnel to it. Nothing exposed, won't even know it's there. The SECOND bunker complex is out by the road, when you go left out of the driveway, uphill...

My 140 and 147 ELD-M data will be real close to the ELD-X data. In the Hornady data, it's the same, but verify (per projo weight, it's the same). This load info is shot through a Wilson Combat 20" .260 Remington Tactical Hunter barrel, 1:8" twist. My 147 data came from Hornady, my 140 data came from Sierra. I'm using the Hornady 140s, though, with the Sierra data. Both 140 and 147 data is hard to find, because those projos are so new. On 140 ELD-M in the .260 Rem, I'm running 35.0 grains of AA-2495, 2.785" COL. On the 147 ELD-M, I'm running 43.0 grains of RL-22, same COL. Big difference in the charges between the two,but RL-22 is a slower burning Magnum powder, and AA-2495 is more of a match .308 powder. Took me quite awhile to come up with them, through several OCW ladders, but those are the ones. I have a hybrid 5.7oz shorty 2.500" buffer in there. The 140 load won't lock back with that buffer in there. To run the 140 load, I have to switch out to the 5.15oz shorty buffer. Start LOWER than what I told you. LOWER. .260 Rem has a very small amount more case capacity than 6.5 Creed. My STARTING load on the 140s was 34.9gr, and I went up. There were serious pressure signs with everything higher, and I pulled a bunch without shooting them. I pierced a couple primers when I was in the mid and high 35gr loads. I pulled everything else as soon as I saw that. ***Load data over the internet is on you. If you blow yourself up, it's YOUR issue, not anybody else's issue... ^^^Just thought that needed to be said.

Yes, the Aero rifle recoil system will work, and probably have zero issues. Yes, you need the Armalite AR-10 rifle gas tube. Two WC barrels now, and another one just showed up to the board here - it's the way/location that WC is drilling the gas ports. Armalite AR-10 gas tubes.

What weight projectiles are you planning to use? I can give you some "close" data on my .260 Rem loads, with Hornady 140 ELD-M and 147 ELD-M.
