  1. I knew he'd find that FAST!!!
  2. You can go either route on that stock, brother - rifle recoil system, or carbine recoil system. I'd run rifle on it, if it was mine. Parts are easier to get, and manufacturers fuk it up less often. 5.200" .308AR rifle buffer weighs 5.4 oz, and that doesn't get jacked too often by too many smaller manufacturers - they just can't fuk that up, like they do on 308 carbine shorty buffers. Armalite EA1095 spring. Any AR15 rifle receiver extension - some are labeled "A1" and some are labeled "A2" - they're the same, as far as the actual extension goes. The A2 comes with a longer vented buttstock screw, in order to support a 5/8" spacer that the longer A2 stock requires - you don't need those extra parts, just the extension itself.
  3. There's no like button, brother. You gotta reply. shepp usually gives virtual reach-arounds...
  4. 5.4oz is the target weight of the buffer that you want to hit. The KAK shorty 2.500" buffer is 5.3oz, and it's so close it wouldn't make a difference. If you wanna go ahead and do it all now, you'll be better off. If you're doing a complete replacement of the recoil system, you have two patterns to choose from. (1) Straight Armalite AR-10 Carbine (7 5/8" internal depth extension, true AR15 H3 carbine buffer at 3.250" long and 5.4oz, EA1095 recoil spring). (2) Quality mil-spec AR15 extension at 7.000" internal depth, KAK 2.500" heavy buffer at 5.3oz, Sprinco Orange spring. Either of those two will run like a champ. Any other functional issues you might have will NOT be recoil-system related. I run the Armalite AR-10 Carbine recoil system on 3 of them, and run the 7.000" depth extension, Sprinco Orange, and homebrewed 5.7oz shorty buffer (2.500") on the .260 Remington. I only did that to try it out, different from an Armalite AR-10 Carbine recoil system, and it works great. If you can't find the Armalite AR-10 Carbine recoil system complete, I can help you piece one together from known, verified parts. This is what you're looking for: Armalite Part Number AR10REKIT01... https://www.armalite.com/product/ar10rekit01-6-position-receiver-extension-kit/ On the website, it's not in stock. That's not always accurate - you have to CALL Armalite to get the real deal on inventory... It's worth the call, and if not in stock, you start hunting, or we piece it together. Armalite: 800-336-0184
  5. Most definitely - that receiver extension is even too short (internally) to use on an AR15. It's unusable on just about everything except a .22LR conversion. The buffer length is good for a 7.000" internal depth, standard (correct standard) AR15 carbine receiver extension. The weight sucks, at 3.6oz, but it might work with that weird spring. That receiver extension has to go, and get replaced with a quality one that has the correct internal depth. Just buy an AR15 Carbine Receiver Extension from a reputable manufacturer, and you'll be okay. Once that's solved, don't be surprised if the gun feels "over-gassed." That won't be the case, though, in reality, it'll be "under-recoiled." That will come from the lighter buffer weight and a weird spring. Fix one thing at a time and fire it - try it out - though. Get a new receiver extension first. Next step after that is to get a Sprinco Orange recoil spring. That's gonna have to be done, anyway, I'll bet. It's described on this page - the Sprinco website. Many vendors sell it, so you don't necesarily need to get it directly from Sprinco. Last one I purchased, I went through Weapon Outfitters for it. Sprinco: http://www.sprinco.com/tactical.html
  6. Didn't know the Black Rifle Coffee Company was sponsoring this, but it's cool as hell! Check out the 5.56 distance gun the guy is using at 13:19 into the vid. That's a Noveske upper setup. Fuckin' awesome, right there.
  7. Yep. Buffer length and weight, what the maker of the spring is, and what it's for (.308, 5.56, carbine, rifle, etc.). We know the length, what's the coil count on it... Internal depth of the receiver extension - stick a take measure down it, and see how long it is, internally. That looks like a 3.250" long buffer inside a 7.000" internal depth receiver extension. Fine for AR15s, not for .308ARs.
  8. Exactly. I think the guy was a talking head, and someone fucked up the information given to him. After the move to 6.5 for the distance rifles, some desk monkey preparing talking points and briefing notes put the wrong shiit in there... It was a GIANT move to even consider .260 Rem and 6.5 Creedmoor, let alone adopt the Creedmoor. 6.8 isn't getting into the regular inventory in the next few decades - it won't replace 5.56. 6.8 was played with before I even got out, and there were a few running around in arms rooms.
  9. Yep, I just call before Thursday if I want some specific firearm - he orders on Thursdays, and they overnight and arrive on Fridays. Shoot with mine all the time. Just lent him my 308 Reaction Rod yesterday, went to the bar/grill after he closed for some chow and beers. I go over to his house routinely - maybe a Sunday night football game, or UFC fightnight, or just breakfast before we go shooting. I work on his Yamaha in exchange for discounts at the shop... It's a beautiful relationship...
  10. Welcome aboard! I laughed when I saw this post, recognized the name - though to myself, "He posted this 7 hours ago... I thought he was already here?...) Southeastern Ohio native myself, originally. Lots of time in the woods there growing up.
  11. If you have no recoil system parts yet, just get the whole Armalite AR-10 Carbine recoil system. You can do the whole kit (one part number), or piece it together. There are three companies that I know of that are doing a confirmed 7 5/8" internal depth receiver extension, so there are options if some things are outta stock. Armalite AR-10 Carbine, VLTOR A5 (couple of different ones), and MagPul SR-25/M110. Any one of those three, Armalite EA1095 spring, any AR15 H3 carbine buffer (or the Armalite AR-10 Carbine buffer, same/same).
  12. Get it to 5.4oz, if you can. That will be most reliable. You're running a collapsible stock setup, correct?
  13. That's DPMS-based - which is AR15-based. Good to know.
  14. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!! THAT'S WHAT I'M DOING THIS YEAR, FOR SURE NOW!!!
  15. Jameson.
  16. That's a great barrel, Doc - you will love it. Glad to see the sickness moving...
  17. No helicoil, man. It's shiit. It's a temporary fix. The Time-Sert is a permanent solution. I use Time-Sert on engines and suspension components, that people fuk up. I would never, ever consider using helicoil in those two areas.
  18. I need to get more in my hands, so it'll be a week or so. I'll send some out to you to try. @Matt.Cross just cleaned me out of my stock. That fucker.
  19. Ask, before you buy. There's alot I can say on it - quite loquacious on the recoil system subject.
  20. IMHO - it depends on how far someone pushes it. It has to be shoved up to the Supreme Court, then they decide if they'll hear the case. I hope someone pushes some 2A cases up there, that's for sure.
  21. I'm not the manufacturer or developer, but very good friends with the guy that came up with it. Long story, but I told him how I was using some of his products as gun lube. It all started there, and snowballed into an official lube, in it's final form now. It's not official as a company product - yet. It's about 95% there, though, as far as being official. It's just the waiting game now... In the meantime, The Strike Industries Anti-Venom lube is the best stuff out there, but it's super thin and flies off. Good lube, though. Second best is M-Pro 7, that you can get right at Walmart. Those two beat just about everything out there. This stuff that we can up with blows both those out of the water.

    She better...
  23. I'd lock that thing up in a mill, plane the bottom perfectly flat, insert some (appropriately sized) Time-Sert into the stock - then mount up a piece of picatinny rail. http://www.timesert.com/
  24. That thing is BADASS, right there!!! 6 x 106s would wreck someone's day - or their entire neighborhood block!!!
