The lube is a success. Complete success. You guys saw what I put on it. FIRST round, brand new build, never been cycled, gas block isn't carbon-fouling sealed yet... And it's a Big AR, that must be run dripping wet... Not anymore, boys...

^^^ Exact same scope I just put on the .338 Fed AR. So far, I really like it, and it's the same quality as the other PA scopes I've got - excellent. Leaving to sight it in in a few more hours. I think it would be a great addition to the M1A.

This is one of the reasons I only form LC brass anymore. I had this exact same problem with Privi brass and Federal M193 brass.

That LAR8EO is a 1:10" twist barrel. Most PTRs are 1:10" twist rate, unless you have one of those PTR pistols. The M1A could be 1:10, 11, 12, who knows. Same on the FAL. The 1:10" twist barrels will probably shoot a heavier bullet better than the 147-grain stuff. M80 Ball is 147 grain. You should experiment.

Barrel twist rate is gonna determine what bullet weights work best, or close. More than anything else. Gonna be hard to recommend any " Consistency? Average Groups? Better/Worse than Hirt? " without knowing that info.
