I'm leaning towards this, before even reading your post. I'll bet it's a disconnector issue. Which is a trigger group issue. And a Palmetto issue.

Picked mine up today - When I ordered, I checked the "I got plenty of time" block, and it came in today. Along with a PLETHORA of goodies from them. They included the new catalog, and a second copy of the catalog had a sticker on the front that said, "Here's an extra catalog for your shootin' buddy. ML" Stickers, Beverage Entry Tool (Christmas Edition), Dillo Dust, all the stuff. Just for a trigger... They fukkin' ROCK. Oh, the trigger is great, too - very,very nice, with distinctive stages, and I like it alot. Immediately stuck it into the .338 Fed Pig Puncher, as it creeps along in completion...

Doesn't matter, aslong as you stick with the pattern you're setting out to build - in which case, this is DPMS-based. BCG, check. Barrel, check. Upper and lower receivers should be the first thing in-hand, but other than that, have at it.

I'd really start looking at ALL the parts in that build, that someone else smashed together - the big indicator that "things aren't exactly right" is the AR15 carry handle on a large-frame AR. Who knows what else is slapped in there, all over the place.

I like this methodology, right here... Let's play this out...
