  1. "...fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession..." <<< Pretty famous phrase. I don't think you'll have any problem, brother - how many times are the trustees gonna take out the items, without you present? How many times will the trustees be out with you in the future, shooting? How much opportunity do you have to teach them about the capabilities and functions of each rifle/part/can? Teach those that don't know, my brother, and they will know. I think you don't have anything to worry about, with paint on the can, or without. <thumbsup>
  2. ^^^ What he said. It's a 5.56 rifle, so you have unlimited options.
  3. EasyE, I'll send you a link in a PM. <thumbsup> I run a combination of hard and soft in the same plate carrier. Hard inside, close to the body, with the soft insert over the top of them, towards the outside. EDIT - PM sent, brother.
  4. Good news on the cycling now - but that means the gas port size is off. I went through playing with the buffer weight only because I didn't want to rip the upper down and drill the gas port up. Playing with the buffer weight did two things for me, and I knew that going into it: 1) easier than ripping the upper down. 2) if it cycled lighter, it would confirm that my gas port size is too small. One day, I'll rip the upper apart and drill that gas port up. <thumbsup>
  5. I think we've created a monster... <lmao>
  6. Fuckin FANTASTIC work, Rene - hell yes! <thumbsup>
  7. Absolutely correct - they jumped on that bandwagon fast as hell, too - it was within a few days of the incident. Dick's Sporting Goods did the same thing (they just dropped ARs), and that lowered my opinion of them, which has never recovered because of it.
  8. 42 pounds?!!? Holy Schit!!! <laughs>
  9. They will ALL return home as little Appleseed Marksman. And much, much more. Little Baby Rangers, swingin' a chain!!! :hethan:
  10. Had a plan for that thing, and I was ambushed...
  11. Well, we don't love you, ya rotten bastard. I'll still have Summer Camp running for years - I'm not nearly as decrepit as you, man. Send her out... <lmao> By the time she can shoot, Sebastian and Mongo will be Senior Instructors, Rob's twins will be reloading ammo, and his boy will be running my obstacle course... :hethan:
  12. FUUCK! M-LOK rail on the way, too. This is turning into bullschit... Quickly... And I was JUST fucking with Ed, too... <lmao>
  13. HELL YEAH, MAN!!! :hethan:
  14. That email from him this morning cost me money this evening. He fucking ROCKS. Just based purely on the size of his balls, I will spend money with/for him. My first purchase from him goes to way before his ATF raid, so they already have my information. Fuk it. <thumbsup>
  15. Fukc me, this little short bastard is adding up fast. This is enroute, also. Fuckin' .30 caliber truck gun... :wtf:
  16. Dimitrios just whipped his Sheriff's ass, and I was feeling all patriotic and schit. He got me. See this thread:
  17. Awesome info - I'll measure out the Hornady 178s and see what comes up. I've never used these things before, but saw a box and snatched them.
  18. Not a 9" Blackout build. I'm a victim here. I've been taken advantage of.
  19. FUKC. This is NOT what I had planned... :rant2:
  20. Sheriff settles lawsuit, for $20. Dimitri's Response. TO: SHERIFF BILL GORE FROM: DIMITRIOS KARRAS SUBJ: THANK YOU FOR THE 20 DOLLARS DATE: February 20, 2015 Dear Sheriff, I want to congratulate you on your wise decision to settle our case before things got too far out of hand and further damaged the taxpayers. Paying out approximately twenty three thousand dollars to my lawyers was a good choice for you. It’s too bad that it came to that. I gave you multiple opportunities to do the right thing prior to filing against you. You refused and now the County must pay for your arrogance. I will hang the twenty dollars I demanded that you pay me, on my wall. It will be my trophy. I will not be cashing it. I want you to know exactly why I only demanded twenty dollars for myself. This case was not financially motivated. I did this to show you something. YOU ARE NOT KING. You are filth, scum, a putrid embarrassing stain on this Country. You can be beaten at your own game. You may have not admitted wrong doing per the settlement BUT your actions and your policies just made the County twenty three thousand dollars poorer. The facts speak for themselves. I didn’t pay you, you paid me. I hope you have learned that “Crime doesn’t pay.” I wonder if you ever lay awake at night and see poor Vicki Weaver’s face. I wonder if you have even the semblance of a moral conscience that haunts your dreams. I wonder if there is any humanity left in that frail body of yours. You pled the 5th due to your fear of being prosecuted for MURDER! You were the Agent in Charge Mr. Gore. You presided over that poor woman being shot dead while she held her infant child. If there is a God, I hope he has a warm place in hell with your name it. Do you want to know my favorite part about you paying out this money? Everyone will get to see that standing up to thugs like yourself is acceptable. The World, it is changing my friend. Murdering wannabe tyrants like yourself are on your way out. Good Riddance. Sincerely, Dimitrios Karras, “But I don't want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real danger, I want freedom, I want goodness. I want sin.” -Aldous Huxley The above letter was written and expresses the opinion of Dimitiri Karras, not the views and opinions of Ares Armor, Inc.
  21. That right there would make an awesome build thread by itself, if you have pics of the process. Schit, even if you don't have pics. That's badass. <thumbsup> Welcome, man.
  22. Not a mistake at all, brother - it's just something like "fishing in the wrong pond..." Not many people even hit the Intro section. You start a build thread, and it's like throwing chum in shark-infested waters... <lmao>
  23. Depends. My personal opinion - M-LOK is easier to machine, so I think it's going to go further in the future, and that's based on a manufacturing standpoint. Keymod came out first, and a bunch of companies jumped on it, for accessory manufacturing. Right now, there is more out there - for accessories - in the Keymod format. I think M-LOK will eclipse that in the future, though. Time will tell. You can buy an M-LOK handguard, pick up a pic-rail section for it, and attach anything you want to that pic rail section. In the future, you might see more specialized stuff for it. You can't really go wrong either way. Kinda like gambling, here... but I think M-LOK is the way to go, overall.
  24. What upper receiver are you building on? That's really the determining factor.
