  1. Some pretty badass equipment! PVS-29s in front of magnified optics, PVS-14s for smaller carbines. I still miss the PVS-4 - it was a boat anchor!!! <lmao>
  2. Started Jake off with a CO2 powered pellet pistol. Easy to learn, easy to load, and I used an archery target as the backstop/target. Once he was decent with the CO2 pistol, it wasn't long before he was shooting .22LR rifle with me. I think learning pistol first made rifle shooting a little easier. He was 7 as the start of the pellet pistol, but I wish I would have started him younger.
  3. Damn Roman, that's a sweet pattern - that will make a wicked blade, brother! blue, I agree - my Cold steel SRK is one of my favorite knives, even if it's not a tanto. Love me some Cold Steel.
  4. How does it shoot?
  5. That UPS estimate on the weight is high. Don't worry about having a 9lb rifle until that upper comes in. It won't be 9lbs, brother.
  6. Nice!!! Very well done!

    jail time

Here I am, reading the topic, and thinking my Kali brother got fucking locked up... <lmao> Only thing going through my mind was "How could he fukk up a reload bad enough to get the cuffs?!!?" <laughs>
  8. I'm glad we're talking about the Kukri now. Badass weapon, no matter what the use. This was a gift from a past deployment. Someone earlier, maybe in another thread, was asking how you'd smash something with a Kukri - you use this, and smash schit with your kukri... Love this blade over anything else - this one would be my pick, for whatever reason...
  9. Here's the Jeep, you bastard - and you even get a look at my ass, with it... <lmao>
  10. Now I have 3 of you close. I need to set you guys all up and snatch a buddy of mine, near Cinci. With Zebra involved, we can pull this off and **mostly** stay out of trouble... <lmao> Grab his ass, freak him out, and we're in business. I re-roofed his house in late 2009, right after he broke his leg - he wasn't getting up on that roof, but that roof wasn't making it through the winter. He owes me, and I've been trying to dream up the PERFECT way for him to pay me back... This might be it...
  11. You guys will REALLY be pissed about this - I Googled "Fat chicks with guns" and THIS came up... <lmao>
  12. I use those to center handguards, during mounting. Bridge the gap from the upper to the rail, clamp that riser down, then clamp the rail down. Always come up centered from upper-to-rail. <thumbsup>
  13. ^^^ That's not a bad price.
  14. You nailed that one - let us know what we can do to damage your wallet... It's gonna happen, so just roll with it... <lmao>
  15. 2-week overdue pics here, of the first-off sling. I'll get better pics in different light so you guys can see the 550 - it's chocolate brown, dark brown. The AZ sunshine right now kinda washed it out a little. Damn this sling is sweet! Perfect for this rifle. Jacob - the length is perfect. Run all the way down, full tight, it hugs right to my body like it should. You nailed this one right outta the gate, brother. <thumbsup> You can also use these pics in any manner you so choose - full rights to them. :hail: Sexual Chocolate is now complete! :hethan:
  16. Here ya go, Ed -
  17. Shot once, don't own yet. Everytime I check out from DSG Arms, I forget to toss one in my cart. I'll have some soon - it's at the top of my mind everytime I'm on that site now. The 5.56 L5s are the only thing I'll buy now for the other ARs. Don't get me wrong - love me some Pmags. I just don't see the reason to buy more Pmags with the L5s at the same price. Those things ROCK!...
  18. Best bet is Fulton Armory. If you're just looking for the hooded insert for rear sights, they definitely have them, as well as full National Match iron sight setups. Don't know if they offer it for the 308, but I'd bet it's on the website somewhere. Rock River Arms also offers excellent NM iron sight setups, but aything for the upper receiver of the LAR8 .308 isn't going to fit your DPMS LR308. Sorry. Brought that up so you don't find something, get it, and find out it won't work.
  19. Yep, even if you lose that whole straight section on the inner end of the cone, it'll still do it's job - cone retaining the blast. Need the outer diameter of that straight section on the inner end of the cone? I'll take apart a KX3 today.
  20. Yes, that's a good price. Shepp, I'll try to find that other thread - it would be perfect here. I'll dig it out. Here's some from a different thread, but there's still another thread out there...
  21. This is the answer - glad it was the first response. Check your son's eye dominance, and that's the answer to go with. Teach him after that. Greg, hang in there brother... <lmao>
  22. Almost. Still need something on, though.
  23. <lmao> Here it was when I only had the stock completed. I took it out to shoot after curing for a few days, just to see how it was going to hold up - it did great. Right after this range trip, I stripped it and painted all the metal parts in Aervoe "Light Coyote." Here it was, completed, and out in the wild:
  24. I used one of these big fat sea sponge things, and just tore off random hunks to dip in paint, and dab the stock with. Use it, turn it, use it again - grab another random hunk. Worked great for varying the pattern, making something completely random. <thumbsup> I'll end up using this technique on the big 700 one day...
  25. This explains it all very well: http://modernserviceweapons.com/?p=1056 Don't overlook these:
