Hell yes, you are a veteran.
  2. In the past, I had fantastic luck with PPU match ammo, in both 5.56 and .308 Win. I've used the 69gr OTM and 77gr OTM for the 5.56 rifles, and damn is that stuff accurate! Same with 168gr OTM and 175gr OTM for .308 Win - accurate! However, lately, I've been having problems reloading the 5.56 cases. I stopped using them to make 300BLK brass, because the bases bulge. Easy to see after them come out of resizing. No more cut down PPU for 300BLK. Well, before this range trip, I loaded up about 500 rounds of 55gr range ammo (mixed .223 Rem brass, CCI 400 primers, 25.3 gr H335 and Hornady 55grain FMJBT projos). Great load. Stuck a PPU case in the RCBS full-length sizing die. STUCK that bastard, good. Bulged base, and the full-length die didn't agree with each other. The rest of the PPU .223 Rem cases that I have, I'll watch closely. If they're anywhere near tight in the die, they're going in the trash. This is only the 2nd or 3rd loading on most of them.
  3. He's no small man... <laughs> <lmao> :hail:
  4. Loving this rifle! Next paycheck will bring a rear sight change for it.
  5. Pics of what happened? Since it's apart now, and all. Was the bolt pushed too far into the carrier, and a gas ring caught some internal ridge in the carrier?
  6. *** THAT BASTARD!!!*** <lmao>
  7. Here's a start - dig into the regulations, and print copies of the regulations - don't print a webpage. Make sense? http://www.tsa.gov/traveler-information/firearms-and-ammunition Another comprehensive article: http://www.wikihow.com/Travel-on-Airplanes-With-a-Gun DO NOT USE the stupid TSA locks! You cannot - they won't let it on the aircraft with TSA locks on it. Militarily, we always used Pelican cases and Hardigg cases. The two companies have kinda combined now. It's unpossible to fuk up a Hardigg case.
  8. I think I'm gonna get this and cut it down to 13.7". More tomorrow, when I'm thinking more clearly...
  9. I can't believe Ron's Armalite had a failure...
  10. ^^^ Pompous A$s, right there. Just sayin'... <lmao>
  11. Welcome, man. I'm originally from Zanesville. Left in '86 and haven't lived in the state since. <thumbsup> In traditional Ohio sense, though...
  12. OR... Distract him with the picture that you have OF HIS girlfriend, and... <lmao>
  13. That $hit oughta buff right out. Little bit of Vagisil or GyneLotrimin and he'll be running the range again!
  14. Need to know what that buffer is. It's an AR-15 part, betting money on that. This one is still my all-time favorite, hands down. There are no other winners, and everything else is a loser.
  15. I can confidently say that the LaserCast 405gr leads shoot very well. Loaded in new unprimed Hornady brass, CCI 200 primers, 50.0 grains of IMR 3031. Love it so far. <thumbsup> I'll play around with this load some more, but that one works well. Inner chamfer the new Hornady brass first... If you don't, the trilple gas checks on the LaserCast projos don't like that. Crimp them good.
  16. ^^^ That's only because he's cornered the entire SouthWestern Region Of The United Fucking States on the damn Varget. Nobody else can get it, but he "finds it in his local store every time he goes in..." :fawkdance: :yup:
  17. Absolutely positively has to be a rifle receiver extension, or the PRS never would have mounted to it in the first place. I'm just sayin'...

The only thing that will stop these fuckwads is some wholesale alleyway asskickings. Once word of that gets out, and the fakes know that is what will happen to them, they might think twice about it. Or, we make it a real crime, charge/convict the fuk out of them, and let the prison badasses have their way with them. As it is written, Stolen Valor Act only covers fakes that claim a valor award, or valorous acts. Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Silver Star, and up. Some fuckhead dressed up in a military uniform isn't covered under the Stolen Valor Act. EVEN if that fakeass motherfucker is wearing a Special Forces Tab, Ranger Tab, HALO wings, Twelve-Sammich-Eatin-Motherfucker Badge... Not covered under Stolen Valor. It's fucking sickening, and the frauds mostly know what they can fake, and not be charged with. That why the wholesale alleyway asskickings would be the most effective preventative tool against them... <thumbsup>
  19. Wanted to post that email, in the event that article goes away later. I'm just sayin'...
  20. It's probably 1:11.25" twist. Most advertising doesn't go into the decimal range, except for LaRue. The M110 was designed with a 1:11.25" twist to accurately shoot 175gr M118LR ammo at the specified ranges lined out in the contract. That wasn't an accident, coming up with that twist rate, for that round. Knight's Armament did the research, and came up with the rifle that won that contract - and they are good at what they do.
  21. Have you fired this rifle yet? Or, is this dry-fire/dry-loading we're talking about? Answer that first. Shoot the piss out of it, wet with lube, if you haven't already.
  22. Gonna be around 95 MOA of drop at that range, with a 175gr projectile. Will be very hard to get anything heavier loaded to magazine length. That will (at least) need a mount with 20 MOA of drop, probably 30 MOA of drop, and a scope with ALOT of internal elevation adjustment. It'll hit the target like a pellet gun. Exaggeration, a little, but it's not gonna get there with much energy. SIG Brace stuff: No kidding. When a determination letter is made, just leave the letter alone. The more idiots that write in, and ask "more specific" questions about a determination - the more determinations you have. You send something nit-picky and detailed, and your response will be as such. Nit-picky and detailed. And you'll FUK everybody else that was just fine with the original determination by Tech Branch, BATFE. Stupid fuckers out there, and we can't do anything about it. Darwin is drawing Unemployment and Obama Benefits, and just doesn't give a $hit about his job anymore. We can't count on Darwin, in this day and age. We can't stop the idiots - we can only hope to contain them. <dontknow>
  23. Jacob brought some of his slings out here for the Shoot-Fest, some newer designs. I eyeballed a SWEET one right away, and called dibs on it before anyone else did. I snatched it at the end of the day. I'll get a pic up later - it went on the 300BLK. <thumbsup> As promised! Ran a MagPul RSA in the handguard and the MagPul hook. Already put the QD cup in the MOE rifle stock when I built this rifle, so rear sling attachment is just a QD swivel. Love the sling!
  24. That's fukked up. <laughs> I do the same thing to friends that want to shoot the 930 SPX. They don't pay attention, and I load it for them. First thing in the tube is a magnum slug, then all #8 birdshot. They shoot a couple, look over and smile, and I say "Finish it off - Don't stop until it's empty!" :yup: That last one gets 'em! <lmao>
  25. The Bag Smashers and Ramp Monkeys will know EXACTLY what is inside your locked bag, when they see that it does not have "TSA Approved Locks" on it. They KNOW it's firearms or ammunition. No other person that flies is allowed to use non-TSA Approved Locks. If you fly a firearm or ammunition in your checked baggage, you're not allowed to use TSA Approved Locks, and most importantly YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE THAT'S ALLOWED TO HAVE KEYS TO IT. Don't let the fuckheads at the airport tell you any different. If you don't have the law memorized and can quote it, print a copy and keep it on you. Do not be afraid to tell them that they are wrong, if they say otherwise. There's an aweful lot of fuckheads employed by TSA. I'm just sayin'...
