They were all pretty new when I rode in them but I'd be happy to jump in ( or out of) one any day. The accidents I can recall were all pilot issues related to the extreme conditions they were flying in.

I wonder what the maintenance costs would be on one of these.......

Drew can cover it. I think it would be a good addition. We still need the plane, but this would greatly improve our capabilities.

If the wings are moving it's probably a helicopter, therefore it is unsafe.

 

Seriously though, I'd rather work with a capable STOL airplane.

Most airplanes have the glide ratio of a brick.  And, any "landing" is nothing more than a controlled crash...  <lmao>

 

You can fly it all you want.  You take off, fly that thing.  After it's in the air, let me out - I'll control my own landing...  <laughs>
