Acftmaintainer
Hello all, My name is Patrick, I am from Charleston, South Carolina and I want to build an AR-10 that will last me forever hopefully. This rifle will be used to Hunt all over the country from Bear to Deer. I am open to any suggestions on brands and parts. I know that I want a Matched Billet Upper and Lower since I am military and are used to dealing with their Forged ARs. They are is garbage. If anyone has a "Parts Check list" that I could find I know that would be a great help so I may Pick Out and order parts as I find what I like is suggested to me so that I can mark off each part as I order it. That you all and talk to you soon. Thank you Patrick. :auto:

98Z5V
I know that I want a Matched Billet Upper and Lower since I am military and are used to dealing with their Forged ARs. They are is garbage. I never had a "garbage" M16 or M4 in my 2 decades in the military. I'd be interested in hearing about your garbage rifles/carbines, and learning something about your units - and unit armorers, mostly. I've built lots of forged ARs while still in the military, and since leaving, and they're just fine - built billet ones, too. They function the same. Billet doesn't make it better, in any way, unless it's adding another capability, like an ambi bolt release. At any rate, welcome aboard. washguy
Pat Here is a tip for ya. you said the ar is for hunting all over the place....If you are not careful in choosing your parts the ar308 can become very heavy(mostly the barrel/rail/stock) and not fun to lug around hunting....if it were me dont go more than a 16" barrel....your still good out to 500...and im sure you arnt gonna harvest at that distance :) Wash
Rsquared
Just one AR308? Is that possible? My thoughts exactly. No worry though. We'll corrupt him. We always do.
