washguy Posted January 24, 2016 Report Posted January 24, 2016 (edited) Nevermind...I misread the post and thinkin it was the bolt catch he was talking about ... Wash Edited January 24, 2016 by washguy
MikedaddyH Posted January 24, 2016 Report Posted January 24, 2016 Do you mean a regular AR mag catch or are you referring to a ambidextrous mag match like the B.A.D. unit ?
saitek Posted January 24, 2016 Author Report Posted January 24, 2016 well guy's it is a standard aero m5 .308 ,looking at a regular latch not ambidextrous.i can locate the dpms part on the net ,i just seen for the most part have had better luck with armalite's mag catch in their build's was just resisting trying aero on the net ,they want to sell the whole lower kit ,which i dont need.it look's like armalite will sell just the catch only .
survivalshop Posted January 24, 2016 Report Posted January 24, 2016 I prefer the AR 10 Mag Catch , to the the DPMS . I have some photo's of the difference around here some where as well as the differences in the measurements . The AR 10 has a longer threaded stem , for the Button , for one .
unforgiven Posted January 24, 2016 Report Posted January 24, 2016 I have an M5,if it was me I'd just get Aero's part.Just my 2 mags.
saitek Posted January 24, 2016 Author Report Posted January 24, 2016 it would be easier, buti already have all the other part's installed and all i need is the mag catch and i am thrifty, cheap !
MikedaddyH Posted January 24, 2016 Report Posted January 24, 2016 You can also get an extended mag catch button. Fairly cheap.
saitek Posted January 24, 2016 Author Report Posted January 24, 2016 already looking at the extended button , thanks
Robocop1051 Posted January 24, 2016 Report Posted January 24, 2016 The AR-10A mag catch has a slightly larger catch. It works great with, and was designed to work with, the Magpul LR20 Magazines. I swapped mine (a DPMS variant) with the AR-10A model and have had ZERO issues with it. The magazine actually sits a little more secure with the beefier catch.
saitek Posted January 24, 2016 Author Report Posted January 24, 2016 thanks any idea were i can get one ?
Robocop1051 Posted January 24, 2016 Report Posted January 24, 2016 thanks any idea were i can get one ?Call Armalite and ask them directly. That's how I got mine.
