survivalshop Posted March 29, 2016 Report Posted March 29, 2016 As long as you use a AR 10 Bolt with the AR 10 Barrel Extension , it should work . There are slight dimensional differences with the Barrel Extensions/Bolts, so the common thought is to match Bolts to there Barrel Extensions . Now what you use for a Receiver Extension & the Buffer System , Keep that AR 10 or LR DPMS . The Armalite pushers here should have better info .

As others have said, they'll be harder to find, since they started putting the FA on everything and not just the SASS or 10T models. I would just go with the serrated one that you can get fairly easy off of Armalites' website (or other sites). It won't affect function. As far as mix and matching carriers to bolts. In theory you can run an Armalite bolt in a DPMS carrier. But I wouldn't bother. And why would you put a Chevy part in a Ford? Just sayin my man.

You might have to buy an older Armalite just for the parts.....opps forgot you live in the people's republic so it would be a pricey endeavor. I'll keep my eyes peeled for one but it has been a good while since I last saw one on ebay.

If ArmaLite is backordered 4-6 months on (Rifles) (Complete Uppers) (Complete Lowers) (Stripped Lowers) ... then perhaps I picked a bad time to begin my quest for parts , I don't think its really panic time (for firearms & parts) as some say but if ArmaLite stuff is hard to get (for various non-panic related causes) then adding the perceived panic factor to the equation at ArmaLite has even Bolts on potential backorder like complete BCGs ...
survivalshop Posted April 1, 2016 Report Posted April 1, 2016 You can read all thats on the net & what I have read , because I have never owned an AR 10 & talking to people that have swapped them out , that as long as it head spaces correctly you can use one or the other, in both rifles , they work just fine , but IMO , I would keep the Bolt Armalite in an Armalite Barrel Extension , as with a DPMS Extension , just to be on the safe side . There is so much bias with AR 10 owners on any subject associated with the AR 10 in any comparison with a DPMS, its hard to get any dimensional figures on what is different between the two , if any at all . Its the Chevy vs Ford thing .

If they've got it on the shelf, you get it pretty quickly. If not, you'll wait for who knows how long.
