Frankh252 Posted April 24, 2016 Report Posted April 24, 2016 "Soft Target Indicators can be anything along these lines that a predator might outwardly observe about you from his optic that sends him a clear message that you are easy prey." Read more: http://www.recoilweb.com/adversarial-attraction-predators-optic-90271.html#ixzz46lpXRGP5 Interesting. My first thought is "Gee, I wonder what message they'd get from seeing a red-dot optic (w/308 barrel attached) observing their 'predator' optic?"
Sisco Posted April 25, 2016 Report Posted April 25, 2016 (edited) Situational awareness, can't preach it enough. Know who your enemy is before he realizes he is your enemy. Assess everyone in a room, or if it a crowded big room, everyone within 30 feet. Catalogue warning signs and if you assess the threat is real, start formulating a plan. If they know you have identified them, and are preparing or positioning yourself for what comes next, chances are they will pass. If not, when it starts, go on the attack, no rules, no holding back. Use whatever you have, and don't stop until the threat is completely eliminated. They are looking for something easy, not life threatening hard. If something comes down and my wife is with me, I have one secret advantage: I know I will fight to the death to protect her, they don't. Sisco's old guy rules to live by. jtallen83 Posted April 25, 2016 Report Posted April 25, 2016 One of the main reasons I wouldn't do the handicap license plate, just an invitation to get robbed and have to shoot someone. Situational awareness would be my number one must do, next is the confidence angle, chin up shoulders, back, no fear. A loud, authoritative, and threatening voice can also head off some bad situations. All else fails, shoot first, fast, and frequently!
bubbas4570 Posted April 25, 2016 Report Posted April 25, 2016 Looking like a badass, ugly, hairy biker tends to help out quite a bit in deflecting the predatory eyeballs also.....

In my experience, guys that look like big badass hairy bikers tend to be big badass hairy bikers. Not one myself but I've always gotten along fine with those I've known.
