KS63 Posted December 4, 2016 Report Posted December 4, 2016 First build in the works. Learning my way through the differences between the 308 and 5.56 platforms and seeing that there isn't a whole lot. I'm a machinist working in the automotive racing engine industry so I'm very particular about dimensions, materials and surface finishes of the parts I use. Thanks for the opportunity to be a part of this Forum.
Rsquared Posted December 4, 2016 Report Posted December 4, 2016 Welcome from Maryland. You are going to find that there are differences between the two platforms. A lot of proprietary parts for different manufactures. But just throw out any questions that you may have. This crowd is pretty easy going and informative. Automotive racing engines huh? Sounds cool. What type of racing?
beantown Posted December 4, 2016 Report Posted December 4, 2016 Welcome aboard. And a warm wave from North Carolina.
KS63 Posted December 4, 2016 Author Report Posted December 4, 2016 Thanks Rsquared! I work for a company that manufactures custom forged and billet crankshafts for most any application from NHRA TopFuel and Pro Stock, NASCAR Monster Energy/Sprint Cup/Winston Cup or whatever the heck they're calling it now, to individuals who have lots of $$$ to buy one.
