Matt.Cross Posted January 21, 2017 Report Posted January 21, 2017 I went and bought a store branded lower from my gun pusher. Highlander Armory It's a really nice lower, I'm pretty sure it's made by a local AR manufacturer in Statesville NC. Pics and build info on my first "Barbie gun" to follow!
sketch Posted January 21, 2017 Report Posted January 21, 2017 (edited) How funny i did the same thing last week. Mines getting dolled up after he returns from shot. ? supporting local gun pushers You making a barbie or ahhh ken gun ? Edited January 21, 2017 by sketch Shits
MikedaddyH Posted January 21, 2017 Report Posted January 21, 2017 Are you going to paint it pink ? Making a gun for the wifey is super smart and pays double in returns ! Plus you get to use it anyway.

Truth!Best build decision I've made by far. Now I'm hoping she will want a rifle that can us a can when I get them, hers has the FH pinned. Another bonus is fewer complaints about bulk ammo buys.

But hun I had to order 1000 roundsinstead of 500 so we both have enough?!? genius!!!!!!
Matt.Cross Posted January 24, 2017 Author Report Posted January 24, 2017 Alright, since the buffer project is going to have to wait for free time to become available, it's time for a "Barbie" teaser. There you have it, a very sensible straightforward lower, ready to be transformed into a magical rifle that propels fairy poop by lighting a unicorn fart. I can't wait!
Matt.Cross Posted February 10, 2017 Author Report Posted February 10, 2017 So I went ahead and bought a completion kit.... http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-16-mid-length-5-56-nato-1-7-stainless-steel-freedom-special-ept-rifle-kit-7780856.html

It's gotta be good quality, simple, and light enough for move & shoot. Which muzzle brake? How should I sling it & what with? Optics or dot? Finally, what bullet weights are best suited to this twist?

I don't know, but you need to re-read this thread and answer some questions. I don't know if you spotted a shiny object or something but I need to accessorize and you're off in la-la land. Get with the program, this is a rifle now.... That's right, I went from a receiver and rifle kit to a completed rifle in about 1.5 hours without a manual and no help or specialized tools.

edgecrusher Posted February 14, 2017 Report Posted February 14, 2017 I'm actually digging a2 ft posts lately. Maybe this handguard? https://www.centurionarms.com/product-p/0609-mc.htm I like the one I used. Also for 1-7 heavier is better, mine seem to like 62 ft plus.
