Magwa
Ok so I have a LR308 it has a carbine stock on it and carbine buffer tube so I get a full length buffer tube and a A2 buffer tube screw (the long one and it all attaches my Luth-AR skuleton stock to the LR308, now I can not use the LR308 buffer spring and buffer but can I use a rifle spring and buffer from a AR15 that is the question.... blue109
It will be too long. You need the 308 rifle spring and buffer. Edited January 25, 2017 by blue109
Magwa
ok so , i have the 308 carbine buffer and spring will that work or is there even such a thing as a 308 rifle buffer and spring? thanks Blue
COBrien
Magwa: They do make a .308 Rifle buffer, and it is different than the 5.56 rifle buffer or the .308 Carbine buffer. Fulton Armory's .308 AR is DPMS pattern, and their parts are top-notch, in my experience. http://www.fulton-armory.com/FAR-308-Lower-Parts.aspx $37 + shipping will get you up and running. I'm sure you can find .308 Rifle buffers and springs cheaper elsewhere, if you need/want to.

JJ109
Luth-AR sells your stock as a complete kit cause they know what works for most applications. You can see where it says" this package includes". Thats a nice stock you have there Magwa. http://www.luth-ar.com/product/skullaton-black-w-308-buffer-kit/

survivalshop
Stick with a DPMS 308 Rifle Buffer & DPMS 308 Rifle Buffer Spring & you will be fine or a Tubb's Flat wire spring ( works with both Carbine & Rifle ) would be much nicer , smooth is the word for the Tubb's Spring . Magwa
OK I am totally confused so lets check em off one at a time 1. so the buffer and spring that are in my LR308 will not work correct? because they are carbine right ? 2. I need a 308 specific buffer and spring correct? what does the 308 buffer weigh? I have a bunch of buffers here maybe one will work jj109 that buffer looks just like one I have can you weigh yours for me in grams, or Oz either will be fine...and give me the length of yours as well thanks all Edited January 26, 2017 by Magwa

That's a comparison between (left to right) 5.56 carbine buffer, VLTOR A5 buffer, and 5.56 rifle buffer. That AR15 Carbine buffer will work in a 308AR, ONLY if used with the Armalite AR-10 Carbine receiver extension. THe other two will not work on a 308AR, at all. Here's a bigger pic of that... I have read of issues with the SCS , I would look deeper into it in this sight . Some have no issues & some do . As said , I would stick with one of the two systems , you will have no issues if you go one way or the other ( DPMS or Armalite ) Some specs that ArmaLite puts out...
