DRACOS Lightweight Lifetime Barrel System

Ran across an interesting new product, the DRACOS lightweight composite barrel that is guaranteed for life. The 13.5" and the 18" offerings have a 1:8.5 twist while the 20" has a 1:9.73. At only $700 I'm sure they will fly out the door! Notice there are no questions in this post, strictly for information, I could care less if anyone has tried one!

I saw these guys at SHOT. They were partnered up with Falkor (formerly SI Defense). I think they were moving away from PROOF CF wrapped barrels. 

I have no other info on them.

First thing I noticed when clicking the link was the .260 Rem barrel. I'm interested. 

Integrated gas blocks definitely have me interested.

I found those twist rates on the shorter 308's interesting, reminded me of Armalite misprint. I gather these are accurate so a person would need to plan on some heavy bullets, also curious why the 20 inch was closer to standard 1:10? From Nathan's Q&A videos I had understood length of barrel does not effect twist?

The 260 keeps popping up in my thought train but the logical me says not till I have mastered the capabilities of the 308.........

  I think the twist rates are misprints also or they know something everyone else doesn't .      unlikely .

I called about the twist rates & left a message , sounds like they are part of Falkor , directs you to access one or the other .

 They called me back today & left a message with a phone # with extension , I was pressure washing the second floor out side & I could not find a way tp make that extension work , it was a guy named Nick & I got the extension to work, but it connected me to a women & she said on her answering message she worked for SI Defense , WTF ?

Dracos, Falkor and SI-Defense all have the same address... Sooooo.... It looks like this is just another Richard Sonju company. Sonju Industrial Inc (SI) will continue to be an aerospace R&D corp, Falkor is the new face of their FFL, and Dracos is a fancy new barrel company. I'm just guessing here, but that's my take on it.

 

PS. Dracos is latin for Dragon....

PPS. This is Falkor. He was the "Luck Dragon" from the movie Never Ending Story....

 I was always Dad , so no problem . I'm quite sure my Daughter had other names for me , but I never heard them from her mouth !
