Military done with 5.56?!

Recommended Posts

50k units aint replacing anything. Maybe looking for a new squad DMR or something. army is too cheap to outfit every grunt with 7.62..plus its heavy and takes up more space.

7.62x51mm caliber? TFB is slipping. Few days ago they made a big deal about sig P320s not being drop safe and getting banned from duty for texas LEOs. Turned out to be bs.

It would make sense to have a limited number for special issue in areas Where combat can be at longer distances, like parts of Afghanistan. Face it, a lot of work will have to go into making M4's effective at 500 yards.

Not really.  Used to plan in the KD range once a year, full day at 600 yards, after a quick 200/400 warmup. This was the final day of training in a "Range Week" packed full of nothing but fundamentals.  Iron sights only.  "We stay out here on the range until everyone can meet the standard."  They got it - not all were as quick as some, but it's the training that goes into it prior to, that makes it happen.  Standard issue M4A1 Carbines.

I stand corrected, thank you.
