Check out th Palmetto State Armory PA10s but beware you are mostly locked into their parts. Better would be a DPMS pattern upper and lower reciever kit, such as Aero. Tons of aftermarket parts available. Armalite AR10s are pretty proprietary. Would not suggest that for the first build.

If you're on a tight budget, I doubt there's anywhere less expensive than PSA. You just have to make sure you use their stuff mostly. I'll probably put together another rifle from them at some point. I'm really enjoying mine.

I think the Aero sets are a great value too. That's how I started off and everything fit well and was in spec.
