Sisco Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 The Battle of the Coral Sea stopped the Japanes Invasion plans for Austrailia and stopped their momentum. It was considered a draw as both sides lost two carriers. But the Allies could replace them much faster than the Japanese. It was the beginning of the turning point in the Pacific War. An awesome point of history.

mrmackc Posted March 7, 2018 Report Posted March 7, 2018 The new Lexington was commissioned in late 1943 and was a major factor in the Pacific . It is anchored in Corpus Christi and is a museum. I visited it several times when I audited Halliburton assets in the area in the 1990s.
