There is no hop taste or coffee flavor, etc... Doc described it pretty good. We had it here for a while at one of the local wineries. During the spring, summer and fall they do pizza night every Tuesday and they started selling beer to bring in the less cultured folks. I thought it was a pretty good lager but they haven't had it in a while.
Armed Eye Doc
Tonight's choice is a Scotch ale from Katy, TX. It is a stout brew with 9.3% abv. It's not my first time with this one. I like Kilt Lifter a little better as far as Scotch ales go, but I can't find that close.

jtallen83
Xtra-Citra pale ale from Surly Brewing in Minneapolis, MN. This ale is weak, a little citrus and a hint of pine but no backbone. Won't buy it again.

jtallen83
Tasted pretty peanutty to me as well, wasn't expecting that when I saw artificial flavor. I will be looking for more from them when I get home.

washguy
So with this kinda beer you dont need peanuts cause it already has a peanut taste? So what do ya do with your free hand if it doesnt have to reach for the peanuts? Wash

shepp
Damn JT this one was good too, usually don’t care for milk stouts but this was solid!!
edgecrusher
From JT, malty up front, oatmeal on the way back. Smooth for a 9%, no booze flavor, light for a stout, easy to drink. If I see it I’d buy it and I don’t experiment much with stouts. For me I like to know what I’m getting into with them. I would buy these. jtallen83
Toppling Goliath of Dechora, Iowa's version of an Oatmeal Stout, Rover Truck. Smelled a little bready with a little smoky hint. Tasted nice and smooth, creamy oatmeal for sure, has a dark molasses sweet to it, not overbearing but adds to the toasted notes, kind of a malty flavor all the way through as well. Creamy and smooth the first can went down before I even thought much about it.
jtallen83
Fire, Skulls, and Money IPA from Toppling Goliath of Dechora, Iowa. This was the priciest TG offering I have seen. Grapefruit and a sweeter tropical fruit smell, very aromatic. Taste mild upfront, a little mango/passion fruit hint and a touch of malty sweetness. Then comes the grapefruit/ orange peel bitter to even it out. All kinds of different hops flavors, tasting it is like hitting a moving target. Has the real fine fizzies for carbonation, nothing over the top just adds a dimension to the creamy feel.

EugeneStoner
Started doing the Paleo diet a couple years back and have become a fan of hard cider as a replacement for beer. This went well with the venison I had for dinner this evening.

You know you’ve expressed that you’re a coors drinker and that you think all this beer is trash or what ever so why even comment on this thread?!? mrmackc
Yes I do drink Coors on a regular basis, however I also drink other beers, but think beer with oatmeal and peanut butter etc., etc. is double yucky maybe adding some rocky peppermint grape jelly flavor would be better. Question was : When do you reach the point where beer is no longer BEER?
