I've seen some positive comments on some new mag entries on the market but would like some sage advice before I commit. The AK platform has never interested me but the round sure does. Armed Eye Doc Posted September 28, 2018 Report Share Posted September 28, 2018 I have a 7.62x39 build with D&H mags. I have had no problems with magazine feed at all. Goofy question of the day, why hasn't Pmag produced a x39 mag to lite the AR platform fire? Is it that complicated an engineering issue that makes metal a requirement? I honestly believe our hatred of the Commies, and mistrust of the AK’s, has forced us to forget about the raw power of the Red .30 cal. If I could afford to shoot (and stock up on) .300Blk I would ditch the x39 today. I appreciate its refinement, and diversity, but not it’s cost. The two things you need to pay attention to are the bolt and the magazines. Most of the flaws have been ironed out over the last 5 years.
